There you go Marshal and LB, lots of dickwaving in thread #500 :D
BTW can we have a new title for those of us that dont qualify as "jongs" since that would require that we are "new" around these parts? We need something for those that are just too old and stupid to know how to use a computer properly....
Dong?
Dong is that you?

All of these, with the exception of the Inspireds on the right which are going to my brother or a cheap-ass dirtbag friend ;) , will get a good amount of use over the ski season. I still crave something fatter for the collection, but that's not going to happen until next year.

Excuse me Jumper, I see that your 190 FFL 250RA Joes, have no bindings on them. This makes me believe you don't use them or need them. I think that may require you to sell them to me.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.

yes, its binders were ported over to the 189 SPs once I got them. Think I'll hang onto the FFLs tho; I'm going to get two sets of demo binders, and have one set on those FFLs, and the other on the Chill Blues FaGS. Both have been mounted twice...but still have lots of life left in them (Blue FaGS still have the factory base grind on them!!!).
Demo binders would help keep that life long...and ensure that others besides myself could possibly own and ski those FFLs someday....sooo maybe ;)

dooooood. Yer gonna put demo bindings as the third and "final" hole in those gorgeous skis? This my friend, is not right. I need some maggot backing on this one.
This third set of holes should be the last binding you put on, so throw on something solid.
:D

sooo, is there a "solid" demo-ish binder? One that could allow accomodating another set of boots besides mine? Like if I decided to sell them at a later point?

Demo bindings = not solid. Don't exist as far as I know.
my 2 cents = Either sell them and let the buyer put a good binder on em, or keep and throw something on em. p14s, 916s, you know.
P.S. these are your skis and you can do whatever the fuck you want with em.:D
But seriously.:FIREdevil

what about an Atomic or Tyrolia/Fischer Railflex-type binder? they don't seem to have much play...
I see what you're saying, but I don't want to screw it up. A couple months ago I was gonna sell these, but I changed my mind over the summer. Just want to do it right.

how do you like them lawnchairs?
They work ok, but you have to have a stack of them. Go through a couple each year. But they really only come out for party days. Other than that I have some teak deck furniture that is for "everyday" use.... But if I show pics of the "summer quiver" I would have to take pics of the horseshoes and lighted horseshoe pit :D

at the time, I had just the Morrisons, the Rossis, and the FFLs. I wanted more of an everyday board. I also found the FFLs a bit overmatched in PacNW gunk, they sink alot and are a bit too stiff - like wearing submarines on your feet. Something morer floatier (kahunas) and versatiler (pistols) was desired. The FFLs were pretty fun back when I lived in Montukistan.

Besides the 2 in the picture I have one other one that is delaming and one that has been drilled ALOT but is intact. If you want either one or both of those you are welcome to them. Once the bent ones actually blow up I think I am done with the Rockets, until I find another pair in good condition

Did you get some use out the xscream 9s? Or have the Phat Luv become the main ski. For Mrs StormDay the Phat Luv quickly became the every day ski.
And if I remember correctly, it was not Mrs C. when you got the 9's. So, congrats.

I was trying to remember who I got the X-Scream 9s from -- thanks again for those skis. They're in great shape, and Mrs. C. likes them more than her K2 T-Nines (the blue/orange ones in the pic), which were her everyday ski. The X-Scream is almost exactly the same shape as the T-Nines, but just a bit stiffer. She likes the Phat Luvs too, but I think she still prefers a skinnier ski for an everyday ski.
And you're right, it wasn't Mrs. C. at the time -- we got married in July.

I just mounted the Kahunas with the alpine bindings; they had Freerides on them from when marshalolson had them. I didn't really need Freerides on a second set of skis (got them on the Beasts), and I didn't like how the Kahunas skied with Freerides on firmer snow -- you can pretty much slide the ski sideways at any speed, no edge hold until you lean waaay over.
There will be some thinning of the quiver sometime this year, just don't know yet what to unload. I just got the Spatulas, haven't skied them yet. There's just a wee bit of overlap...

Here's my measly quiver compared to some of you fuckers:
180 Explosivs w/997 Equipe Driver Suspension DIN14 (My early season rock sticks. They turned out heavy as all hell though, thinking about doing something about the bindings.)
180 Scratch FS w/s900 Carbon DIN12 (Bored/messing around -- skiing with my slow ass friends.)
180 T@nkers w/s900 Equipe DIN14 (I love these things, they are my everyday ride.)
P.S. I truly am embarrassed by the quality of my pic, but that's the best I could do with my camcorder taking stills, and it's late and dark...
P.P.S. I dug this up, EDG's Upload Pictures Thread (http://tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19020&highlight=upload+pictures), and it's great. He's killing it with all the cool web tools. If you see this, mang, I thank you.
Also, I want to thank Tyrone, marshalolson, boobookitty, whoever found the $300 deal on T@nkers and the guy I got the the first s900 equipes from, I'm sorry I don't remember the last two people's names. Everything I've got, except for the 997s (eBay) I got through this forum, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to afford it.
180 Explosivs w/997 Equipe Driver Suspension DIN14 (My early season rock sticks. They turned out heavy as all hell though, thinking about doing something about the bindings.)
Just remove the Suspension plate and you will get a really good bindning. The plate doesn´t do anything but adding weight in my opinion. If you like your skis heavy and damp, take them off anyway and add a pair of derbys instead.

Please forgive the markers on the 9:22, they were the first bindings I ever bought. To make it worse they have the adjustment lever with three positions, of course for:
1 hard core
2 hard core exxxtreme
3 totally freaking bad ass[/SIZE]
Don't they complement the movable Atomic bindings with multiple positions:
1 Mach Looney Speed
2 Allround Versatile Contortionist Flex
3 Aspen Extrem Gnar-gnar

http://www.biglines.com/photos/normal/biglines_50410.jpg
L to R:
04/05 K2 Seth Pistols 189cm w/ Diamir Freerides (@+4cm)
05/06 Head Mojo 90 186cm w/ Tyrolia DX15 (@recommended midsole)
05/06 Völkl Dogen 178cm w/ Salomon 914 (@ +2cm from FR line)
98/99 K2 Xplorers 193cm w/ Riva Z (@ ???)
I want/need one pair of >100mm middle skis (and more days in the mountains, won't buy anything before that changes). Mojos and Pistols have some overlap, I guess...Mojos might get some (burlier) tele bindings soon, and the Xplorers will retire completely then?
Also, I'm a bit unsure of the +4cm mount of the Pistols...did I go too much forward? (well I'll figure out that soon...Cham on 23rd of January...:))

That's not a quiver, that's a hoard. Or a retail store.
Only 3 of those skis have bindings on them. And of those, the Salomons came with the bindings, so they may never even have been skied either.

Ben,
Mounting them is a Bitch, I put a pair of 914's on mine, and cause there was no Jig that wide at the shop I ended up off center, but simmetrical on both skis. Can't even notice it. all I can say is measure 5x, mark the holes and then measure some more. Oh yeah, careful, after you are through te metal, the rest drills like butter.

a wide salomon jig fits fine. done it several times. your shop is full of JONG's if they couldn't get them straight.
glade... mount salomon's, get the 115mm brake, bend it out a bit, and you are $$$

I was thinking the same thing when I "discovered" this on Monday. I have two tower sites very close to the resort, one of them in the lower parking lot. I bet going off the back side would be a great tour, maybe next time (I did have to snowshoe for quite a while to reach one of the sites, it was a nice walk).

In europe, the neon color scheme isnt viewed as "cool" or "retro". All the scandanavians gave me funny looks and didnt understand why my skis were so old. "your skis, they are not new, no?" Only a canadian at the Okay tele shop in engelberg gave a nod towards the retro quiver choice.

1992-93? I thought the Explosiv had a 10 year run, ending in 2004-05.
So if they date back to 1992, these must be the very first year. Any idea what year the K2 "Big Kahuna" topsheeted Explosiv is from? (Have one of those now too.)

they are much smaller. I dont think the tails are lined up exactly with each other, because I dont think the 190 gots are THAT much smaller...
but check out this pic. This is my old quiver pic. 189 SV vs. 183 gots. Gots are minis. edit: also notice the 179 seth pistols to the left of the gots. same size pretty much

Yes, I am sure, they are my second pair :D The picture is taken from the left (to avoid reflect-o-rama from the Stöcklis) so the difference looks a little bigger than it is. But they are definitely shorter than the 189 SVs.

Yea, the 265 is pretty burly with such a big ski, but also incredibly stable at speed. I'd be interested to ski a pair in the 240 - 245 range just to feel the difference, but I'm stoked on the pair I scored.
They have camber, but not a ton.

Those FFFs @ 265 stiffness are so so so sick, incredibly stable.
Only problem I had was 265 was so stiff they really didn't float too well in heavy PWN snow.
My new 240 FFFs feel just amazing. They are going to be so sick in pow, but still super super stable.
We need a few more pow days in the PNW...otherwise they probably wont see any skiing until next season :(

FYI, the DP's are the only pair I spent anywhere near full price on and even those I got a bit of a deal with Marshal's rep code and free shipping. But, you are correct, had they all been full price, it'd be the same worth as a Hyundai.

I've skied them at 3 or 4 different mounts and find -9 to be the $$ spot.

I was assuming that you didn't pay full price for any of them, but even so, you could get a old subaru or something, not to say that i wouldn't have spent the money on skis too.

Nice FFLs! What flex? I just sold mine to Z recently.
Bought them from Hugh Jass last winter. He said they are 240s but they flex like 260s. This is my first pair of Iggies so I really don't know. They are a touch stiffer than my sploders were if that means anything.

Dynastars of unknown model... will be my tele rig next winter w/G3 Targas. They are on long term loan with only one condition - I have to keep them mounted tele...
The Rossis have lost the 7TM... sucky binding - thank goodness for REI... Next year they will have Freerides most likely. They are a bit chewed, and can be my rock/sidecountry powder sticks.
777 - my main hill ski.
BD Mira 18? - light and fast, sees a lot of use, always suprises me how well they ski.
662 - snogurls hill rig. No those aren't Markers :p :fuckyou:

Just realized I never posted in this thread :)
My quiver is pretty simple compared to most.
188 Bro's Stiff (Freerides) and SuperStiff (Rossi FKS 185) are represented for everyday resort chargin & touring. There's also a pair of 179's not shown I like using for spring slush days and just railing groomers. And you know what the white skis are and what they're for (currently mounted with 916's).
Also have a pair of 186 Stockli DP rock skis and 215 Blizzard Thermo DH boards for Long Board Day.

Then you need to get those into the picture.
I think I need a new pair of normal fat skis (about 100 waist or so).
