itunes question

got a new ipod. whenever i attach it to my laptop, it "synchronizes" with my itunes, ie it seemingly randomly selects songs and puts them on the pod. my question is, how do i turn this function off? i want to be able to select what music i put on it. also, i cant currently add music from itunes on a different computer. can anyone give me some guidance? much obliged.

I'm not at my computer with itunes but I believe you can either set it to sync everything automatically or you can set it to just synch the items you check off. It shouldn't be random. Not sure about the syncing from other computers thing as I've never tried it. Good luck.

You can also create an 'ipod' playlist and only sync that.
To move your music to a different comp get a usb stick or use dropbox (getdropbox.com).
