So I bought a Citizen Eco Drive Titanium Cronograph back in 2001.

I got a good deal on the watch but still about 550$

Its a real purdy watch and I like it. (It rare never seen another one on someones wrist)

Anyway couple month ago it quit working.
I figured battey.

Ended up taking to Jarreds because they were the only place I could find who could send the watch out for power cell replacement.

So dropped it off June 6th. Just got the call from them that the Battery was not the problem, need to replce (The Movment) ??

PRICE Movemnt + polish Titainium 270$

I thought about it for about 10 seconds and said go ahead.

What ya'll think. Citizen repair would not rip me off right?
If I really like the watch and can't really replace it for 270. Its a reasonable investment right?

Feelling a bit Buthurt took real good care of that watch. How does the entire movment go bad?

Ouch! I guess you can look at it that you spent $410 on a watch that lasted for 8 years and replaced it with another watch for the same price. If this one lasts less than 8 years, then feel butthurt.
When I was looking for an expensive watch for myself(Omega, yeah, I was really dreaming then!), I was able to find a few 'net forums that were helpful.
Here was one I remember:

Expensive watches blow.
They're costume jewelry.
I'd rather wear a sundial.
But that's just me.

I've seen black diamonds!

Every gentleman knows there are only two rules for choosing a watch:

1) It must be gold.

2) It mustn't be large.

If you're not a gentleman, or a Russian, or a Mafioso, or a used car salesman (in any of the last three cases you should buy the biggest watch possible, and make sure it matches your other jewelry) spend your money on something more useful or fun, like skis or drugs.

Looks like you can buy a brand new one for ~$300?

But it's a cheap watch for all the stuff it's supposed to do.... eco drive, unobtanium, etc.

Kind of the Kia of Chronographs?

I had a Citizen EcoDrive titanium watch, and a little piece of the clasp broke. They had no replacement parts, no other band would fit it, blah, blah, blah... Pissed me off big time. But they offered me another watch for 15% off. Oh, fuck yeah... I bought a $35 Timex.
