I've gone back and forth about selling this thing. Normal DH bike wear and tear. Basically it's an older frame with sick current parts on it. Has a good amount of play in the rear end. Not sure if it can be fixed or not...

888 works - Maybe the best feeling DH fork ever. Ask marshal.
Romic Rear shock. Actually feels damn good.
Code 203mm F and R. White :fm:. Used 1 full season on the original bleed and pads. I'm impressed. Could use a bleed...

Mavic Deetracks wheelset. 20mm front 10mm bolt on rear. Only about 8 DH days on em.
Gravity 175 Maximus cranks(??)/Gamut Changuide.
2.7 minions plus lots of extra minions if you want em.
Crank Bros Opium HS.

Thing is a sled weighs about 43-44 right now. No, you can't climb it. Ever.

I would entertain offers for parts or the whole thing. Last thing I would sell separate is the wheels cause I wouldn't mind keeping em. Could be a good way for someone to get a reliable DH bike pretty cheap and upgrade the frame eventually.

^^^my wallet may not be thanking you now, but seriously I am about 5'10" and like my DH bike a little smaller than my trail bike you think this would work? I need to check out the geo and measurements on this thing.

ya- I woudl check the specs and keep in mind is a way older model-- but when I rode Z's it's cockpit felt smaller or near the same as my medium blindside- perhaps its the set up but it also felt smaller then the newer medium DHR's (aka Dsides) what do you think Z, its been awhile since i been on your bike- I don't think it felt like a large giant or anything-- can't gaurentee anything but maybe the specs will shed some light?

Hmmm...Toptube would be fine, but you would want to check the standover. I can take whatever measurements you would want, also will have pictures in a few days. I'd make a deal for a mag...

Also the parts on this bike are really what make it....Could always downsize the frame eventually....

sorry I forgot to check back here, if you could measue standover and effective top tube that would be helpful. Also any idea what the head tube angle is? I'm thinking this might be too big but if it works for awhile and can upgrade the frame later when I have some cash Id have some thingking to do.

dude, i think you could fit it. i'd say ~6ft or taller.

Z
04-29-2009, 05:49 PM
Standover is 31in.

Toptube center to center is 22.5 in. (center of head tube to center of seatube right where the seatpost goes in) Im not really sure what effective TT is all about, but let me know and ill measure it up for you.

Pete, how tall are you? You didn't have any problem riding this at keystone....

Im so inclined to make a deal on this thing as ill be ordering a bike here any minute....

I was checking this bike out yesterday, and the play in the rear end is pretty acceptable for a DHR. My 05 easily had as much. Z's just bringing the full disclosure as any good seller would. The 888 Works really is the tits. Think Fox 40 butter and Marz reliability. I went about 25 feet to dead flat on a stepdown overshoot on my old 66 Works and that fucker just kept right on a'tickin'.

Wheels and fork alone are worth near the asking price, and you get a frame that holds it all together that happens to ride pretty damn nice. I don't know what i am trying to say here other than buy this thing so Z and i can be bike twins...

I would think any play in the back end of that bike should be easily fixable. (rebuild kit from Turner OR new bushing for the shock)

I've had plenty of DHers with play in the linkage and the only time you notice it is while it's in your garage. When riding, it's a non-issue.

Let's do this. PM sent. I kept looking at the pictures. I couldn't stop. I want it to live in my bedroom. Anyone have a bleed kit/ at least the nozzle so I can make a G-one? Also who knows how much it costs to ship this beast? (or who lives near Z that has a UPS business account?)

Bump this. I just got laid off and am moving back to Colorado on Monday, spent all my $ shipping my landcruiser and renting a little car to drive back so can't take this with me P:(. Posted the bike locally, but will sell to a Mag for what I paid for it (the breaks need another bleed, I think they are low on fluid. I think I ended up paying Z 1K plus shipping (as a warning shipping is a beast on this and Z correct me if I paid less. Not looking to make any $$ on this). Same price for a mag this time. Also anyone in Santa Barbara that wants a leather chair or random kitchen stuff/towels/ a single bed can have my stuff, just come by and pick it up or let me know what you need and I'll send it.

Only way I'm not selling it is if some Mag is driving from SB to Denver/Boulder and wants to take my bike for some beer.

why not just fedex ground it to yourself? it'd be $50-$75...

or pull the wheels and put it into the landcruiser?

or pull the wheels and put it into the landcruiser?

usually when you ship a vehicle they want it to be empty

Was hoping to get the $$. Getting married in a month and a half, and am now an unemployed CPA, marring an unemployed woman, and moving back to a state where I can't even call myself a CPA (at least now I have time to look at TGR instead of watch my billable :). I'm going to try and pull it apart and put it in a rental car I'm driving back if it doesn't sell. I always was planning to keep the parts and then swap out the frame when I had some cash, but to be honest I really like the feel of the bike, my only qualm was I could never get it up to the speeds it was built for on the Santa Barbara trails, but now that CO is coming back to me, it's my ideal bike. Just can't justify keeping it over the winter, and kind of want a one quiver ride like a 575 or a Heckler etc.

Dfinn- your right about the shipping. They say you can fill your trunk with 200 pounds. I have an FJ40 so no trunk but filling to the windows, and inside is already have a CO2 tank, a set of half doors and my tool boxes plus some random crap, so I'm hoping they don't give me a grief as they already tried to charge me extra since it's got 35's and a big block (more weight than they budgeted) , hoping for the best when it get's loaded, but we'll see, got a great deal on shipping it so can't really complain.

Marshall always talks me into keeping stuff, or buying stuff. He's killing me. Buy this before I leave on Monday and end up keeping it...

I'm moving to Chicago in March to go back to school and can't afford to keep this bike (it represents a small fraction of my tuition, but no mountains= no riding). Hoping to for the $1000 I paid. Bike really hasn't changed much, I swapped the brake pads and bleed them before I put it in storage in my parents garage. Ridden maybe 15 times since I got it from Z. Looking for the $1000 I paid for it. Hoping for local pick-up, bike is at my parents house in Boulder, but I can bring to my place in Denver.

Also if anyone wants a 72 Landcruiser with a 396 big block and H42 5sp inquire within. It can't go to the flatlands as well.

I'm already regreting putting it up for sale. Will lift the tires off the ground in 2nd when in 2wd, but alas it's my most valuable asset and I figure selling and replacing when I'm older is better than more debt.

Bump this to the top. I'll be in Boulder on Sunday to show my FJ to a potential buyer.

(or buy my Landcruiser here http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2209271466.html and if you pay full price I'll throw in the DHR).

Bump this, I am trying to sell the bike still, been living in Chicago and it sits at my parents house. Hoping to sell locally. Needs a brake bleed but other than that rig is ready to go. $1K? Hoping you can pick up in either Boulder or Dillion/Summit county.
