I didn't know anything was drastically wrong until I was tomahawking and my right leg was just flopping loose everywhere.

That 7th frame, which I assume is the impact or immediately after - both skis look like they've cleared...The subsequent ragdoll impression I understand!
Wonder how much more he needed to clear? A foot? Two?

That's why you gotta try East L.A. You can get a sweet deal on one with just minor body damage and some grill work.

That's intense. I can relate to the below in a much less gnarly scenario having had a compound fracture of my Tib / Fib.
This sums it up very well...
Krietler " I just lay on my back and held my leg from flopping any farther to the inside"
Great interview. Damn, can't wait for the first issue!

It's a Kreitler-ism, Blurred. If you read the interview, you'll see. Kreitler-going-Reichter, you know, so it rhymes.
I'm glad you guys are digging this. It's one of the better stories we've posted in a long time, and something I need to concentrate on doing better in the future.

Then you might want to change loose to lose here:
"I thought my leg was compounded and I would loose too much blood"
Aren't you glad you have all these proofreaders around?

He's often here during the summer, up in Stanley. But not here this year. So I know where he's not, if that helps.

That interview is pretty current--as in she talked to him in the last week or so, so I think he's still over there. I'll ask rebecca when she gets in and post again.

Kreitler and Jaquet (founder and ex editor of Freeze) are good buddies from growing up here. Hence, the Freeze involvement.
That cover looks like it should be for Lord of the Steeze: Rippin' Mordor.

POWDER: Your injuries are unique. What exactly did they turn out to be?
Kreitler: The injury was that every ligament and tendon in the knee was severed except for the interior capsule, which all tore off of the femur in one chunk. I don’t know all the names but it includes the ACL, PCL, Patellar Tendon. Everything was torn and when I arrived at the hospital in Anchorage. Plus I found out that my femur was jammed down in front of my Tibia where it went on impact. I was very lucky that I didn't sever the artery. They don't know how it wasn't ruptured and I didn't do any damage to the cartilage or meniscus.
