DVD +RW

I suppose I could try to sift through the vast wastelands of the internet for the answer to my forthcoming question, but instead I turn to the all-knowing maggots for knowledge. I hope I can be forgiven.

I've burnt an mpeg and a bunch of jpegs to a DVD +RW. It works fine on both my burner and my DVD ROM (ie. I can view everything), but two friends have reported zero results (nothing recognized). I know DVD players can be succeptible to +/- differences, but can computers as well? Will finalizing the disk solve this proble? I've gone through a lot of discs lately and don't want to finalize unless I know it's going to work.

Any help? Am I a moron?

I don't know the answer, but whenever I have an issue like that, I can almost always find the answer on Videohelp.com (http://www.videohelp.com)
