anyone ever listen to this fellows country styling? quite talented down home alberta boy, puts on a great live show and sings a mean folsom prison blues.

his old punk(ish) band The Smalls killed it as well.

Bumped for good tunes!

Saw Corb Lund play last night in the PG. He,and the rest of the Hurtin' Albertan's killed it.

Shitty crowd and even worse security probably a dozen fights, 3 dudes got up on stage and ran around before the geriatric security wrangled them. It kinda reminded me of seeing the smalls play Mac hall when the Nazis showed up - lotsa dumb drunk muthafuckas.

I've been listening to these guys for a while, heard them first on XM 12 X Country (RIP). I've never seen 'em in concert, only albums.

If you're up for a good drinking song, check out "Time to Switch to Whiskey (We've been drinking beer all night)" off the 5 dollar bill album.

these guys kick ass.

i actually stumbled upon them several years ago in Austin, TX during SXSW.

i was walking down 6th street on the Wednesday evening before the convention really kicks off and wandered by this one bar that had their front windows open. this kick-ass OG-styled country band (think Merle, Willie, Johnny, Waylan stylee) were banging out the good tunes, so I stopped and stood on the sidewalk for the remainder of their set.

i keep missing them when they swing through Cali though as it's tough to convince my friends to spend money on a night out listening to "country" music.

Yah...Corb's great!

Caught him and the Albertans last spring in Montreal. Crazy snow storm that night, but still a lot of people made it out.

Been re-living my youth recently and listening to a lot of the smalls stuff.

Nice to see Corby finally get some recognition/$ after slogging it out for so many years in the smalls. They had the indie thing locked down, but never really "made it."

I saw Corb when he did his small town bar Christmas tour in Alberta. Can't beat seeing him play in the Brooks Hotel. That place has kick ass roast beef sandwiches.
