So after moving from a small apartment I finally had some room for a little ski room. That being said I still needed to watch the amount of holes I drilled in the wall and space it took. So here is what I did...
You need:
10 small metal screws
5 Rake Grabbers (you will see what I mean in a minute)
1 piece of 3+ foot long metal
2 wood screws
1 piece of rubber mat

Step one...get the pieces:
The good old rake holders I am talking about. Aprox $2.50 a piece at the local hardware store.

Step 2:
Take those metal screws (small) and that metal piece and attach rake holders spacing for skis.

Step 3:
Attach to wall. This is not load bearing so two screws will hold it to the wall. Get at the right height not to hit a binding.

Step 4:
Add skis.

.....easy!

Add rubber mat to not scratch the floor:

That is about it. 20 minutes...20 CHF and you have a rack.

(and yes I know the booster strap is for my boots)

joke #1:

20 congestive heart failures???

that's a hefty price to pay for installing a ski rack...

joke #2:

sure that works well when you have those nice square tails to rest the skis on - probably dont even need to clip the moments in - just stand 'em in the corner or something...

hmmmm not really feeling my own jokes tonight... back to comedy school in the morning for me.

Where are those broom grabber things, where the rubber roller rolls up when you put the handle in, and then the broom won't slide down because the roller is holding it? That would work well too, wouldn't it? I don't know, I just stick them all in a big bucket in the basement.

I finally got around to building a rack. Super easy to do, cheap, looks pretty good.

Supplies:
1x3 piece of wood
9 broom holders

It looks good and is highly functional. Only problem is it won't hold thinner cap skis and atomic beta skis (I hardly consider this a problem :D).

I may be missing something, but that looks like a pain in the ass to load skis in and out of. So it pulls apart, you put all the skis in while they're sitting on the ground, and then hang it? And the opposite to get a pair out?

I need a rack. I knocked over 3 pairs this morning getting my bike out. I guess I have to make something different than what everyone else made and post pictures of it.

Won't that ruin the camber eventually on the ones that don't touch?
