The boot has acquired an undeserved reputation because of its rebranding by Tecnica. The reality is that it's just a Lowa X-Alp. All it has in common with the alpine downhill Agent line are the graphics/colors and common corporate ownership.
It is neither especially stiff nor light. Plus it's essentially instantly obsolete for extended backcountry touring since it lacks Dynafit compatibility.
If you just want a cheap boot for dabbling in sidecountry with one of the various Diaxo binding models, then just buy a used GRide -- unlike its Dynafit-compatible sibling MegaRide, the GRide loses its value almost immediately once on the secondary market.
