I had the opportunity to see "Hand Cut" last night - the first production from the brand-new Colorado company Sweetgrass Productions (http://www.sweetgrass-productions.com/). A lot of effort was put into illustrating the impact of the mining and railroad industries' impact on the ski history of the west, which I liked a lot. The film seemed a lot more "artistic" than your typical ski pron, with obvious attention payed to the quality of shots and not necessarily the quantity of them.

I'd highly recommend checking this one out if they come to a venue near you (just keep an eye out for the completely custom, colorfully "taped" Dodge Colt trolling around your 'hood ;)).

Kudos to Sweetgrass.

I saw it last Friday and it was good. The soundtrack kinda got repetitive but the movie was pretty cool. Before the show here in Aspen they showed an old Dick Barrymore movie from the 70's about Highlands that was pretty funny.

Watched it again last night. Liked it even more than the first time. Looking forward to the Leadville show.

I've been looking forward to this one quite a bit. It's a shame we have to wait so long in Van though... :(

The musician on the soundtrack is John Alex Mason. He's outta the Colo Springs/Denver area. Go see him if he's in your town! You won't be dissappointed.
