Water skiing a wave?

Last night I caught the tail end of a really bad beach movie (I have no idea which one it was) and in the closing credits, there was footage of a guy on water skis cruising down the face of a head-high wave. He looked like he was having a really hard time but he was doing it - and not falling.

Anyone ever try this? You'd probably need a jet ski or a boat to town you into the wave but it looks pretty fun.

I'm gonna try to kite-ski in the ocean this summer sometime. Put on my boots, click into my pocket rockets and give it a go. If it's successful I'll post pictures. If not, send flowers in liu of donations to the "Cody Townsend Memorial Fund".
