Even Carly Fiorina lacks confidence in Palin. So, if Palin's unqualified to run HP, how could she possibly run the country?

Hmm, so running a country is not the same as running a corporation - wow, that's a real scoop right there. How the fuck does this qulalify as news?
And, yeah, you should read the articles before posting them.

Yes.
Fiorina works as an advisor to the McCain campaign. When asked about Palin, she responded that Palin didn't have the experience to run HP.
Probably realizing that she had put her foot in it, in a later interview Fiorina tried to explain her comments and ended up taking McCain down, too, by declaring him incapable of running HP. Then, just because she remembered that she works for McCain/Palin, she said that Obama wasn't qualified either.
Here's a link to a CNN article that explains it in more detail.

Hmm, OK. You read it. Sorry.
Well, whoever said running a country was like running a country? (Let me guess...some wannabe running a company?)

Cloudpeak is correct that she came back later on MSNBC to try and minimize any fall out... But I still think it was a classic "foot in mouth" statement and obviously not what she should have said, it may also show that Fiorina doesn't have much respect for the job of President?
The words for BOTH parts directly from her mouth...

IQ test?
What about the word "executive" in the following has whooshed right past your heads?
Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:
Revenue management?
Expense management?
Budgeting?
Personnel/staff management?
Hiring/firing?
Negotiations?
Asset management?
Logistics?
Contingency planning?
Reporting to a form of "board"?
Etc...

Fiorina Says Palin Unqualified to Run HP
According to the HP Board of Directors, so is Fiorina.

Heh, you guys beat me to it! I bet the "board" decides Fiorina is not qualified to be a campaign advisor either ;). Sort of like that economic genius Gramm :D
Here is a silly question
Of the current presidential and Vice Presidential candidates, how many have owned an run a business?
Of the 4 which ones could tell you how to start up a payroll, collect and pay quarterly taxes SDI and social security for an employee?
Not a plug for anyone in particular but I have a tendency to vote for some who has actually spent some time a (Real Person) making a living in the USA
John McCain sleeps with the CEO of a large beer distributor, so a few thing may have rubbed off on him.
Was it on Fiorina watch that HP bought Compac ?
That was looking good back around 2001 but then the tech bubble happened?

She also said McCain is unqualified to run HP
And Biden and Obama are also unqualifed to run HP.

What? Chooch Juice?
This 'marriage qualification' didn't pass the smell test for Sen. Clinton either and she actually spent significant time in the white house. If it were true, Monica Lewinsky should have a cabinet level position and McCain is qualified to head the FDA because his wife was a drug addict.
I'd give your point some credit if she (or both of them) built the business together, but she inherited it and he couldn't have had much to do with it at all being a senator all these years.
Fiorina put that foot knee deep in her mouth, but that is probably what she really thinks. Her retraction is funny and I'd love to explore what she believes are the mutually exclusive qualifications as that would be a source for more comedy. She's not running for office, and I am tuning out the surrogates from both parties more and more as we get closer to the actual election. All they are doing is spinning the truth to fit the soundbites of the day.

The CEO of HP doesn't have to start up a payroll, collect and pay quarterly taxes SDI or social security for employees. What you're implying is that being a small business owner is somehow qualification to run a multi-billion dollar corporation (or the country) - which is ridiculous.
The chief executives of countries and major corporations operate on a larger scale. They need the ability to understand where their company/country is and where it needs to go; they need to be able to judge people and surround themselves with the right ones; they need to be able to inspire and lead diverse groups of people.
Which of the four seems best qualified to do all of that?
I am less concerned with someone who wants to run the country being able to run a corporation than I am with corporations running our country.
While surfing online I came across this:
Although the public had admired Coolidge during his time in office, the Great Depression turned public opinion against him. Many linked the nation's economic collapse to Coolidge's poor policy decisions. He refused to aid the depressed agricultural sector while thousands of rural banks in the Midwest and South were shutting their doors and farmers were losing their land. His tax cuts for the rich caused the maldistribution of wealth and overproduction of goods, which destabilized the economy while putting two hundred corporations in control of more than 50 percent of the nation's wealth. Although he regained some of his stature in the conservative 1980s, most historians look upon the Coolidge presidency with skepticism, ranking him among the lowest of American chief executives in terms of positive impact and legacy, however high he might stand in personal integrity.

There is more available on the site. This was many years before I was born, but reading about Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover makes for a deja vu experience with Bush.

McCain's friend Fiorina will... "now disappear."
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/16/fiorinas-comment-called-biden-like/

“This campaign source said Fiorina would be discouraged from additional media interviews.
Another top campaign adviser was far less diplomatic.
"Carly will now disappear," this source said. "Senator McCain was furious." Asked to define "disappear," this source said, adding that she would be off TV for a while – but remain at the Republican National Committee and keep her role as head of the party’s joint fundraising committee with the McCain campaign.
Fiorina was booked for several TV interviews over the next few days, including one on CNN. Those interviews have been canceled.

I hope he has the good sense to disappear himself.
That would solve his campaign's main gaffe problem.
