Isn't that why mcsame picked palin? kinda funny how this argument was pretty prevalent from the right wing pundits a month ago, but now that they have someone on the ticket that excites their base its ok.

If you let them be, they will continue to be, queenie. It's amazing how much disinformation is still passed around here.

Yup. I already knew that. Been that way for a long long time.
But I posted this thread phrased exactly the opposite of Cliff Huxtable's thread, and the differences in the responses are amazing.
The librodouche vs ReaganZombie debates here are getting tired.

I'll bite: Obama isn't much different than Reagan and Kennedy, so although media has played a huge role in his rise he was only the most-media-fuelled politician to date. Not the first.
Palin is the first person to be used purely as a campaign tool. I guess it started with Quayle...but was that really such a big deal? Did Qualyle set off a media firestorm in the way Palin has? But in Quayle's day the VP role was different. Cheney expanded the VP role way beyond what it had ever been, and possibly (or maybe certainly, I don't know, I'm just not aware of all the facts) in conflict with the Constitution.
That makes picking a tool like Palin or Qualyle much more of a danger. And that's what I think is important this time around: the best interest of the country taking a backseat to the best interest of McCain. He didn't choose a Vice-President for the United States of America, he chose a running mate for McCain '08.
And look how it has played out so far.
Honestly, if Palin wins and you are a Rovian figure in 2012 don't you secure victory by attaching to Tiger Woods as VP? Maybe you laugh now, but I think Palin will prove it works. She's a fame-based candidate, not an achievement- or leadership-based candidate.
If McCain wins, fame works.
If fame works, fame will be used more effectively.
Maybe a Tina Fey/Tiger Woods Democrat ticket for '12?
Or Angelina Jolie/Bratt Pitt?
Morgan Freeman/Axl Rose?
Steve O/Kanye West?
George Clooney/Will Smith?
Michael Douglas/Leonardo DiCaprio?
Jenna Jameson/Tito Ortiz?
