The weak ranting trolls - takes a few posts to get a bead on their "opinions," then to test whether they are more than paper-thin regurgitators of whatever tripe they've been fed; but then there's nothing more to be learned, so why waste retinal neuron time on them?
The more complex the poster, the longer it takes to determine whether or not they add anything. (Or to determine if what they add should not be added at all - the racists, bigots, pure haters.)

Plus - they do actually shut up and go away. (Except for the tiny handful that are in the gray zone; a subjective judgment call there. Who knows, they might have learned to say something interesting in the last year or two.)

Anyway - you are incorrect. I am not less informed for having ignored crap that carries no information I haven't already gathered. I am actually better informed; because I do use the time saved to search for real information.

As a mathematician, you'll understand the value of a principal components analysis. A lot of variables are simply redundant and uninformative. A waste of time and effort.
