Cliff - I don't think anybody's actually arguing this point you keep bringing up. I know I'm not. This isn't about McCain doing "what's right for the country" it's about Obama, Biden, Democrat politicians and librodouches everywhere having some weird drive towards self-destruction. They do this almost every election cycle. Obama and everybody else on the Left really needs to just take a week off and calm the fuck down. 2. Is this a joke? The only reason McCain has a chance is Palin pulls in the religious crazies. Palin's image as the perfect Christian hockey mom is getting more & more tarnished every day. Seriously. If she had said a couple of mistruths or lies and let it go she would've been fine, but repeating them over & over - eventually the mainstream media catches on. The articles now give whatever part of her stump speech she repeated, and then follow up with how its already been discredited.

America bought in to Palin's image, which is why McCain was able to catch up in the polls. But the more she talks the more she distances herself from that image, the more the polls go down. Wasn't McCain up 10 points just 4 or 5 days ago? they're lost 2 points a day! at this rate they'll be drudging up votes just to hit 0.

Us Weekly, which unlike People and OK!, chose a rather caustic cover line ("Babies, Lies and Scandal") is said to have lost thousands of subscribers in just the first 24 hours following the printing of the issue.

The more the elite attacks Palin, the stronger her support grows. Tell us she is a bad mom, because her kids are not perfect. We don't abandon her, because we know our kids are not perfect either. Tell us she is unqualified, and we see the hypocrisy when compared to Obama, we rally behind her more. etc.

I see a sports mentality that seems to drive the politics. Just as a Browns fan hates the Steelers and Pittsburgh, just as the Wings fan hates the Avs and Denver, people seem to blindly hate the other candidate or office holder. Obama supporters hate Palin. Their hatred blinds them to any good in her. Their attacks are seen as mean spirited and unfair. Non-obamanites rally to back the underdog. The Obamamites become more entrenched and angry.
