Going to a church whose pastor, an ex-Marine, ranted against social inequality in the US or...

...being married to a man who wanted his State to secede from the Union (The deficit was going down until two years ago).

We only touched on this previously, but after all the fucking pages and pages of blather about Rev. Wright this shit needs to be re-addressed by our conservative friends here.

You guys do understand that Karma is biting you in the ass these days, don't you? As soon as the reclusive Frau Palin has to actually face some tough questions about her "credentials" this 5point difference is bound to disappear.

I know what factcheck.org says - she was never a member of the party... but HE WAS. She sent a welcome video to their fucking convention praising their "good work!" Imagine if Obama had done something similar... hell, imagine just somebody remotely associated with him doing that. The rednecks would go absolutely fucking batshit, but she's getting a pass.

Amazing... I think the American Electorate has collective autism. Guess it really is something in the air or water.

Don't bother. Anyone that still supports McCain while buying into 90% of the attacks on either Obama or Kerry has already proven themselves to be immune to cognitive dissonance.

Did you feel the same way when Obama was ahead in the poles?

This is all very amusing. The flimsy facade that is Barack Obama...vanishing before our very eyes. Poof!

Nice, all the good Rev spoke about was his service in the military. He never said God should damn America. He never equated America to the terrorists. He never preached against white America.

Palin should have divorced her husband. How dare he have his own beliefs. O wait, if she would have divorced him, she would be attacked for that also.

I wonder if you are critical of the Vermont secessionist movement? Does the word hypocrite touch home?

Tipp - aren't you the guy who agreed with somebody when they posted that America pretty much sucks? I'm pretty sure you were. In fact if I remember correctly you had a complete and total melt-down when I asked you about it.

Saying America sucks and typing long-winded hate filled diatribes - I'd say that defines true patriotism. :rolleyes2

Fixed.

Yes, how dare he.

Funny, I'm white and I totally understood Wright's POV, and wasn't offended at all. I guess I'm not as insecure as those who erupt into rage when they hear a dose of the anger that this Nation's behavior has inspired in it's minorities. I guess I understand that our Nation has terrorized other nations, funded the espianage that lead to the destabilization of their governments, interfered with their free elections, and installed puppet dictators.

Personally I believe dissent, when it calls attention to injustice, and seeks to correct our course, is the highest form of patriotism. Of course I'm not much of a goose stepper, and I don't blindly expect that this country can do no wrong.

Sir, this couldnt be further from the truth. Just because Todd's still registered with the AIP (and has been for years), or just because Sarah's been to multiple AIP conventions and called into AIP leadership teleconferences, by no means is the Palin family affiliated with the seccessionist Alaskan Independent Party.

Because that would directly conflict with McCain's "Country First" slogan. Well unless they mean Alaska as its own country first.

So had the good Reverend merely called for the South side of Chicago, with all it's forests, fisheries, oil & mineral wealth  to SECEDE then that would have been OK? He says "God Damn America" and that's worse than saying "see you later - we're out of here, and we're keeping all this shit to ourselves?"

You people are fucked up. Sececession is TREASON (yes - the Vermont idiots too,) exercising your free speech is a fundamental right of citizens of the United States of America, which these Alaskan guys no longer want to be.

The answer is simple...Flag pins. If you don't where a flag pin you are an unpatriotic douche. See how simple it is?

Obama has been seen in the past without a pin, the commie bastard. Now a days he wears a flag pin, so he is a good ol' red blooded American.

McCain was a POW (bet you didn't know that,) so that gives him an automatic pass on patriotism. He doesn't have to wear a flag pin, but still does.

Hey Tipp - are you gonna put McCain/Palin on "ignore" while they're occupying the white house for the next four years? Or maybe you could just put reality on ignore. Oh wait - you've already done that.

No. Saying "America sucks" because your guy isn't in the White House is. Fair weather patriotism is not patriotism. If you seriously think America's greatness hinges on who happens to be occupying the White House, you suck.

I'm critical of a few things about the USA, but I don't go around saying "America sucks" and then when somebody asks why I continue to suffer through citizen ship I don't get all pissy and type out some diatribe that's reminiscent of a jilted 15 year old girl.

Minor setback. Fighting stupidity is harder than you think.

I think the Obama campaign is now adjusting quite well.

Sen. Barack Obama's spokesman on Saturday accused Sen. John McCain of "cynically running the sleaziest and least honorable campaign in modern presidential campaign history."

Obama, speaking to a crowd Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire, said,"The McCain-[Sarah] Palin ticket, they don't want to debate the Obama-Biden ticket on issues because they are running on eight more years of what we've just seen. And they know it," the Democratic presidential nominee said. "As a consequence, what they're going to spend the next seven, eight weeks doing is trying to distract you.
"They're going to talk about pigs, and they're going to talk about lipstick; they're going to talk about Paris Hilton, they're going to talk about Britney Spears. They will try to distort my record, and they will try to undermine your trust in what the Democrats intend to do."

Full disclosure, I have a tattoo of the US flag on my left calf.

Why don't you tattoo a flag lapel pin on your chest so people will think you are a good republican patriot?;)

Only flag lapel pins truly say you are a patriot.:D

Not exactly.

patriot
1596, "compatriot," from M.Fr. patriote (15c.), from L.L. patriota "fellow-countryman" (6c.), from Gk. patriotes "fellow countryman," from patrios "of one's fathers," patris "fatherland," from pater (gen. patros) "father," with -otes, suffix expressing state or condition.
