The guy spent 22 years in the Navy and has been in Congress for 26 years. Anyone hell bent on reform would go nuts spending those tenures in organizations that seem to thrive on being static.

It's an election strategy... If you can convince/confuse enough people that YOU ALSO share your opponents strongest point, the voters don't pull the lever for your opponent on that issue. Joe Lieberman did this in his last reelection regards the Iraq war... Joe ended up winning.

As far as Change is concerned, McCain stole that catchprase in the primaries and has been pumping it for all it's worth.
