Don't discount the group think the makes the girls band together.
I just got this email from 3 different women today.
The 2nd time was, wow, but the 3rd group email blew me away.
Maybe some of my friends are more conservative, but the fact that several women have bothered to forward and endorse this is pretty telling.

I'm not here to argue the points of the letter, but just to comment on the viral email.

And the counter point is that cynical women (read: my wife) are thinking/saying just the opposite, i.e. 'if you think that I'm going to vote for you SOLELY because you have a woman on the ticket, you're even dumber than my husband!'

Wow, McCain's campaign is writing chain letters.

could be true. Viral marketing is all the rage.

But, the fact that is getting forwarded is what is amazing to me, not the content.

Looks like the McCain Campaign is sending out their OWN version of a different Wasilla resident testimonial that has been posted a few times here on TGR already in the last several days... In fact, I bet those who receive the two, not back to back, might not know they aren't the same one?

Here is the original version, which ends up later skewering Palin:

...I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Gov. Sarah Palin since 1992. Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on a first-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Her father was my child's favorite substitute teacher. I also am on a first-name basis with her parents and mother-in-law. I attended more City Council meetings during her administration than about 99 percent of the residents of the city.

Here is the start of new version, which boosts her all the way thru;

...As an Alaskan resident as well as a resident of Wasilla, AK, where Sarah Palin was at one time Mayor I can speak with confidence. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is exactly what she portrayed during her introduction this morning and exactly what our U.S. Government needs. She is ethical to a fault (if there is such a thing), a refreshing change to the status-quo and as smart and determined a PERSON (gender really isn't an issue here as far as I'm concerned) as anyone could ask for at the head of government

Anybody with reading comprehension should figure out the difference fairly quickly Tim.

I actually thought the first email was reasonably even-handed. This one is a little too positive to be believed - almost sounds like it was written by her mom or something.

It reads like a typical propaganda piece, and any woman with half a brain will know it. Contrary to letters like this women do have half a brain and more. I live in a household with very smart women, and they know what a shame Falin is. Unfortunately tthere are a lot of idiots in this world that will believe such tripe.

Anybody with reading comprehension should figure out the difference fairly quickly Tim...

My point though, by way of an example; is that if MY wife saw the positive one in an email first on say tomorrow, then received the second less positive one the next day... I really doubt she'd actually "read it again". I think she'd do a quick skim of first sentence or two, then be sure it was the same thing she saw the day before, and never even read the second one.

Alaskans are superhumans who deal in issues larger than the rest of us. If she can be a Governor who doles out $1200 to each of her constituents by imposing a windfall tax on Big Oil then think about the fucking $$$$$$$ she can give us as VP, or... where's my hanky... President of these United States of America.

I heart her. I will name my next dog "Palin," regardless of Gender.

I'm so confused. No windfall tax for big oil unless Palin does it for Alaskan citizens. Then it's a good idea?
