What is it with all the arrogant smug condescension regarding Average American Workingclass Dopes?

Do you mean to say that anybody who doesn't have 22 hours a day to research the candidates on tha interwebz is a moron? Or is it just that anybody who doesn't like the candidate you like is a moron? Or maybe everybody in the whole world is a moron except for you? You do realise that that's one of the key differences that separate the Librodouches from the plain old Liberals, don't you? Tell ya what, genius - next time you're flying from the East Coast to SanFran or wherever, take a look out the window. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time - it's a long flight. See all those houses down there? See all those cities and towns? Those are the morons who can't hold a candle to your brilliant level of intellegence and enlightenment. They're also the ones who's votes really matter. A bunch of them like Obama, too. Because they saw some dope on MSNBC talking about how great he was for 3 minutes once.

A little humility goes a looong way, douchebagz.

Jer nails it. Middle American folks with middle American values wanting to continue living their middle American lives without being socialized.

The leftist elitists who have hijacked the Democrat Party just can't understand why their revolution is continually rejected .

The Republican choice comes closest to most American's values so that is the lever they pull. It is not that they buy into the Right hook, line & sinker it's just a closer representation of how they view this country.

Eventually, minorities will become majorities and thanks to leftist inner city brainwashing, this Country will irrevocably change.

Out here in the middle
Where the center's on the right

James McMurtry gets it, even though he is among the elitist Austin educated liberal superior crowd.

they broke into your car last night,
took the stereo
Now you say you don't know why
you even live there anymore
The garage man didn't see a thing,
so you guess it was an inside job
You made a reservation, a table for three
They said you'd have to wait,
somebody must have bribed the maitre'd
Boss got mad and he blamed it all on you
Food was bad and the deal fell through

(chorus)
Well out here in the middle
you can park it on the street
Step up to the counter;
you nearly always get a seat
Nobody steals. Nobody cheats
Wish you were here my love
Wish you here my love

We got tractor pulls and Red Man chew
Corporate relo refugees that need love too
we ain't seen Elvis in a year or two
we got justification for wealth and greed~
Amber waves of grain and bathtub speed
We even got Starbucks
what else you need?

(chorus)
Out here in the middle
Where the center's on the right
And the ghost of William Jennings Bryan preaches every night
To save the lonely souls
in the dashboard lights
Wish you were here my love
Wish you were here my love

(chorus)
Out here in the middle
Where the buffalo roam
We're putting up towers for your cell phones
And we screen all applicants
With a fine tooth comb
Wish you were here my love
Wish you were here my love

I certainly hope that when I write the sort of comment I did in this thread (http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131741&page=2) you understand that I am talking about the entire popultion, not one particular segment based on income or residence.

Remind me which ones I'd be flying over on Jer's suggested route? I think a few folks here need help with their economic vocabulary.

Man it must really suck to have to go through life knowing that all the people who are dumberer than you (pretty much everyone) are the ones who always have and always will get their way just because of their sheer numbers.

Meanwhile your brilliant views and ideas just fall on deaf ears. Oh sure - there will always be the 10 or 12 other arrogant elitist douchebags you circle-jerk with on a regular basis, but they all matter just about as much as you. Which doesn't amount to much.

Tell me, smug elitist douchebags - if Obama were to get elected, would Middle America suddenly turn into a mass of enlightened, intelligent people? At least until they go and elect somebody else you don't like in 4 or 8 years?

The difference between a Liberal and a Librodouche is that a Liberal can accept that somebody has an opinion that differs from their own, yet still possesses a brain. To the Librodouche, anybody who dares dissagree with him is a complete moran. Hence the "douche". Hence why some here get so offended by the term Librodouche - because they know exactly what (and whom) I'm talking about.

The problem here is that your proud dumb country folk support republicans for reasons that republicans do not honestly support. Look at the 'small government' bullshit. All 3 republicans since reagan have drastically grown the size of the government. Far more than the 1 democrat (clinton). Sure, they had lower taxes. If people are convinced that the govenment is smaller simply because their taxes are lower, then yes, you are a bunch of dumbfucks. In the meantime, your actual freedoms and rights are being curtailed, and your future obligations are growing, but gol durnint my taxes right now are lower!!!

Just about the only issues where republicans honestly do what they say is christian value issues. Abortion, gay marriage, creationism, etc. On this, I agree to disagree and I respect the opinion. If these are the issues that are getting republicans elected, then fine. I agree I am out-numbered.

Actually, lots of farmers vote Democrat. And they're dumb country folk. My father-in-law is a dumb farmer Democrat.

I suppose he's not a 'real' Democrat, tho. Just like there's no real Republican black guys or feminists.

Thanks for proving my point tho Powow.

41. George H.W. Bush (that's one)

42. Bill Clinton

43. Dubya (there's two)

Maybe you should just leave. I mean, you can't even count.

edit: I like how no one has actually addressed the point: Republicans win being the party of small government, yet expand it at unprecedented rates.

Welcome back President Zombie Reagan. This place sucks without you.

Yeah...the average middle america would be downright fearful to go on national television and answer questions about their intentions in running for VP of the United States. That isn't so dumb.

Know what? So is Sarah Palin (and her running mate) in her reticence in speaking to the media in an interactive fashion. Well, she'll be on World News Tonight this week.

The only thing is that she accepted the nomination to run and really owes it to the voting public to be on the record in an environment that is not totally manipulated to her advantage.

This is TGR, you are not going to get any slack. You fucked up, admit it and move.

I believe your point was that Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr, all increased the size of the federal government, See, it really isn't that hard.

So she's been on the scene about a week or so by my count and yet with Barack running for the last 2 years I still, for the life of me, can't remember him doing more than a handful of Q&A sessions that weren't completely "manipulated to his advantage". Weird.

I mean, Oprah's couch is a tough interview and all, and don't forget US Weekly, or the reporting giant: Entertainment tonight...

The last time I can remember Barack facing the press corps was after one of his revival speeches (in TX I believe earlier in the summer), a reporter asked him a question that he didn't like and he shut it down after 3-4 questions. He's great at giving speeches and rallying the unicorn crowd, but I can't remember him doing any real substantive Q&A from the press. Prove me wrong, I'm sure you'll find stuff, but the perception is that he just gives speeches.
