Just watching the crowd chant USA!USA!USA! because Palin mentioned US soldiers in Iraq.
The Republicans are "the party of the military". How fucking absurd. This whole election is absurd.
It's a fucking intergalactic embarrassment. The most powerful country in the world choosing their leader based on the most meaningless superfical bullshit.
Could people be any more easily manipulated? I mean the press not the people...hmm -or do I...whatever.

2 cups - baseless fear
2 cups - dodgy education system
1 cup - society supersaturated by televison and "television values"
1 cup - 24/7 celebrity worship

Enjoy your McCain Electionwin Dinner!

Thanks for acting as the leader of the free world, then getting all backwoods weird and paranoid.

That was a pretty short run, so far as history goes. But it was televised.
And that seems to have made all the difference.

It must seem bizarre to see other countries decide elections based on ideas and such. Your fucking elections make me heave. They're a NASCAR race mixed with a shampoo commercial finally transitioning into a deb ball. If it wasn't so important to the rest of the world it would be amusing.
It's not amusing.
Grow some testicles.
Then punch yourself in those testicles. It's all over - you lost. We all lost.

I occasionally discuss Canadian politics because *gasp* I live there.

You epitomize the little brother syndrome that is I see so often in Canada with regards to the US. You have a great nation, it is enough to be proud of it. It is demeaning to yourself to bash other nations.

Canada is a wonderful country, full of great, people, place and policies, but pay attention to your own countries problems and issues, especially as this is a pretty important time in Canadian politics. Tend to your own problems first fucktard.

We have every right in the US to elect whoever we damn well please, regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. It is OUR country, not the worlds. I might not like Palin or McCain but people in my country have every fucking right to vote for them if they deem them fit.

First: Why do you assume I don't tend to Canadian problems? You whole rebuke is predicated on something you know nothing about, and you're accusing me of...what exactly? Having an opinion on the politics of a country that has spent more than 50 years forcing its culture and businesses on almost every person in almost every country in the world, all the while screaming "USA IS NUMBER 1!!!!"

It is YOUR country? Really? Then get it the fuck out of everyone else's face.

Ever been out of your country? See all those American TV shows and businesses? Do you think they're there because they're fantastic?
...Or because the biggest superpower pushed through all sorts of trade and other deals that allowed it - oftentimes at the expense of domestic business and culture. That means both governments are to blame, but please don't go on thinking that all the American shit all over the world is there because it is superior to everything else. It's there because the USA has a lot of economic muscle. And lawyers.

Do you honestly think that non-Americans shouldn't have opinions about countries they don't live in, no matter how it effects them. If you do, please explain.

By the way - you have a lot to say about Canada. Does it strike you as odd that in a post rebuking me for having an opinion about another country, YOU have an opinion about another country.
So, is it that you believe only you can have an opinion about other countries, or that people can only have "opinions" if they're complimentary?

Also: why do you act as if my having an opinion robs you of your right to vote? I see no connection.

Why would I care if someone offered him a job? I'm stupid. I just don't get your point. Someone offered Sarah Palin a job, too. So what?

gripen, you should get a grip on reality befor you post back. are you even aware to wich extend the USA are constantly interfering with democratic processes around the globe in their own strategic interest?

i should not only have the right to spout my oppinion on every american who happens to cross my path to make him or her vote the way i want, i should actually have the right for at least half a vote considering how much your government interferes with my affairs.

my point is, i advice you to vote for mc cain. in the short run he might be a bit of a hazzle for yurp but in the long run we can only hope for an end of the unipolar world. ;) apart from that i can't really get enough of bush supporters getting all riled up on the current state of affairs. it's a pity the spectacel is supposed to be over in just 4 weeks. i wouldn't mind watching them kicking themselves in their behinds for another 4 years..

for the record: my sarcastic stance derives from the last two elections. i couldn't believe my eyes you voted bush in his first term and started doubting human intelligence when you asked him for another four years. i don't think you can even imagine how extraordinarily wrong his policies during his first 4 years seen through a european eye appeared.

something someone from across the pond will never understand - how come you guys did not know al quaida was not in iraq. how come 75-80 % were in favor of this war based on lies that were all too obvious. no wonder nobody trusts the judgement of the american public. at least i don't. i predicted twice with absolut confidence - bush would loose. you proved me wrong.

the EU has asked the US repeatedly to regulate their financial markets. the US refused. if you don't understand that regulation is only effective if you coordinate it internationally - then i have a hard time helping you. but let me try it this way: if you try to pass environmental laws in your country they will prove inefficient if your neighbour does not pass them too. your neighbour's industries are making good money while polluting your air and water. your industries are not competitive any more and have one of 2 options: stay where they are and get taken over by a neighbours company or move across the border and play the dirty game. so in any case if you regulate your market in the end you are stuck with a huge economic loss and the environmental pollution. that's called the European choice. ;)

France seeks €300bn rescue fund for EuropePatrick Hosking
Live: 24 hours of the Global Economy

France heaped pressure on Gordon Brown last night by floating an ambitious plan for a €300 billion (£237 billion) bailout fund to rescue crippled banks across Europe.

As the world held its breath on the fate of America’s $700 billion bank bailout plan, President Sarkozy was seeking the backing of European leaders for his own lifeboat.

Mr Brown also faced demands for action from British banks, furious that the Irish Republic’s unilateral guarantee of all bank savings on Tuesday was robbing them of precious deposits. The British Bankers’ Association, which represents high street banks, said that the move was anti-competitive and that it was raising the issue with Dublin. Some banks would like to see the UK respond with its own explicit guarantee.

The Prime Minister has begun to set up an emergency committee to take charge of Britain’s response to the crisis. The body will be similar to Cobra, which is composed of ministers and government officials and meets regularly during crises such as last summer’s floods. Its secretariat will be run from the Cabinet Office.

Mr Sarkozy, whose country holds the European presidency, is seeking Mr Brown’s support before an emergency summit, scheduled tentatively for Saturday, with Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, and Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor. His proposal was greeted with scepticism in Britain and outright hostility in Germany. It appears to involve the creation of a Europe-wide emergency fund that would be used to prop up banks when national governments are unable to intervene.

Ms Merkel said that Germany could not and would not issue a blank cheque for all banks, “regardless of whether they behave in a responsible manner or not”.

Amid the confusion and bickering between governments, France denied at first that it had put forward a proposal for a fund at all and then, after admitting that it had done so, denied that it would cost ¤300 billion. Paris said that the figure had come from the Dutch Government. Officials in The Hague said that they had no idea what the French were talking about.

Mr Brown is expected to announce his new crisis committee today or tomorrow at the same time as his reshuffle to replace Ruth Kelly, the Transport Secretary, who has asked to step down. Ed Miliband, one of Mr Brown’s key lieutenants, could be promoted. There is still a question mark hanging over Alistair Darling’s future as Chancellor.
