Listening to McCain' speech last night I was intrigued by his comment on "retraining" workers when their old job has been given to someone overseas.
I pictured something out of George Orwell's "1984". Sorry, your job has been discontinued. Please report to your nearest Federal Retraining Facility for reprogramming.
Retraining - so not the right word to use. Considering the latest unemployment data, that's gotta piss off a lot of people.
Do you get your own room?

I thought I heard him say that the Govt was going to make up the difference from you good factory job that was shipped overseas and your current flipping burgers job while they retrain you as well.
I may have misremembered, but that is what I heard. To me, that sounds like a liberal government welfare program, and I thought that only corporations were eligible for welfare under the rebublicans. ;)

Sounds like the Job Centers a lot of states and counties already use.
IT IS TOO LATE.
THEY ARE ALREADY WATCHING YOU THROUGH YOUR TELEVISION.

Exactly. Business's are more important than people so we'll continue to allow our jobs to go overseas while the govt. subsidizes the people during their "retraining". Sounds like McCain wants to overhaul unemployment benefits instead of fixing the overall problem. So the unfortunate are just going to have to jump through even more hoops. All too familiar.
