I know there are some AIR and Zero 7 fans on the board, I saw some recent posts on Talkie Walkie, which is an amazing album. This was the first AIR album I had heard.

Bored at work today I was checking some clips from their 1998 album Moon Safari, it sounded good. Mid afternoon I bailed from the office to find the cd. Moon Safari kicks ass. The first song, La Femme D'Argent" is worth the cost of the disc.

The album came out in 1998 to some pretty rave reviews, so I am 6 years behind. But if you like Zero 7, Thievery and AIR this cd is for you.

I did not realize this, but apparently AIR did the Virgin Suicides soundtrack, a great movie, but I don't recall the music. Anyone have the cd, is it good?

Artie, if you get the chance, go see Zero 7 in concert. I saw em this spring in boston and it was amazing, easily one of the best shows I've been to.

Check out The Doves. Seems you're making your way through my list on that thread a few months ago, so have similar taste.

The Doves are one the best bands I have heard in the last couple of years. I have always been a fan of the groups that have come out of Manchester, especially The Charlatans(UK). I picked up The Last Broadcast and was pretty impressed, and I immediately went searching for Lost Souls, I could not find it locally but was able to piece it together off WINMX.

I am about to head out on a a three hour road trip, so I might have to throw in Lost Souls at some point.

Another great band(not really similiar to the Doves or AIR), that have been around for a few years now, is BRMC(Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), though they did get some criticism as being Jesus and Mary Chain wannabes, they're still pretty good.
