I just saw this movie last night, and it was one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Wonderfully subversive. Nothing like making a movie satirizing the Christian Fundamentalists. An Macauley Culkin may have redeemed himself with this.
Bonus: the "Christian Rock" band in the prom scene is actually playing Replacements songs:cool:

this movie definitely struck a chord with me. I was rolling through the whole thing. Good message at the end "why did god make us all different to act the same?"
Religious right must be up in arms, at least the born agains.

Hmmm...this one didn't really do it for me. More of the same ultra left wing Hollywood shite vs. ultra right wing Christian shite. The answer is somewhere in the huge gray middle, which this didn't really get into much.
It seemed like their point was "Fundamentalist Christians are idiots." Duh!!!
Philosophy aside, McCauley was really good. So was his girlfriend and the main character. Top notch performance by all three.
