I'm in the market for a road bike, I am retiring the mountain bike. I need "non-impact" activity for my knee and being that I can't seem to keep the rubber on the ground when I'm on the mountain bike, its got to go. This has been hammered into my head over the past couple months by my doctor, PT and girlfriend.

So I traveled around a couple shops riding different bikes and found that I like the Treks. I like the Madone 5.2, but they are a bit out of my price range for just getting into this, thus the 5200 older model. Needs to be a 58-60cm. I'm looking to spend around $1,200, if anybody has any leads I would really appreciate it. I'm in the Seattle area, but shipping is not out of the question.

Thanks for listening

Custom titanium in a 58?

Built in Seattle, too.

FYI the Trek carbons, at least when they were 5200/5500/5900 model names measure center of the crankbolt to the top of the seat collar to get their size. For me that meant the 57-58cm roadie size I usually ride translated to a 60cm 5200. I absolutely love this bike, especially because my hamstrings are not very flexible and the slightly short top tube makes me more comfortable. I love love love my Trek carbon, but be mindful of the fit on these as their standard deviation from other road bike measurements is pretty significant.

Also, I have ridden the Ti bike Viva would sell you and it is a lovely ride, well spec'd (Viva is no cheapshit), and very well maintained.

make sure if you're buying a used carbon bike that you know where the bike came from, how many miles, etc...carbon can fatigue and fail without much warning or any visible problems. I'd also recommend looking at the Trek 4.7 carbon bike. Carbon made in Taiwan, not Wisconsin, so it's cheaper.

PM Sent.

I have a trek, very low miles, never laid down. I am pretty sure it is a 60cm. Ultegra group, three chain rings, flight deck (very cool), 105 breaks i think. Blue/grey paint. oclv 120 frame and 110 fork.

I currently have it on sale for consignment at a local shop. I can get pics tomorrow if you want. it is pristine.

I started by asking 1500, but I will go to 1200 plus shipping.
