They've got a new joint dropping in August.

They've got a couple sneaks up on their MySpace page:

I've dug this band and feel that they have been pretty darn consistent in their releases over the years.

I like them a lot, "Adieu Clo-Clo" is one of my favorite melancholy songs ever. Look forward to hearing the new stuff.

I'm hoping this record is as good as 13 Tales...

these dudes catch so much shit here in Portland... I'm sure there are enough star fuckers and folks who knew them way back when for them to keep their heads up, but its harsh how much this town is against this band.

Rent "Dig" from Netflix. All about them and Brian Jonestown Massacre.

porquoi est Dandy Warhol en merde with Portland locals?

i know they've always had a bigger following overseas (Europe) than on their home turf and as far as i can tell they either left or were dropped from Capitol (their new album is coming out on their own label).

These guys rule exceptionally hard.

And X2 for Dig.

got the entire new album and have been spinning it non-stop for the past week.

good stuff.

what i like about the Dandy's is their sense of musical deja vu. all of their music is familiar, yet still distinctly their own (i.e. you could swear that you've heard these tunes before, but they're still fresh and original).

Sounds cool! Waiting for this to come out in August is gonna be like waiting for the bullwheels to start spinning in November.

Been meaning to pick up their Black Album, which is only available from the band/their website.

This track caught my ear savagely:

FWIW, I've always kinda lumped The Dandys in with bands like Swell, an SF-based band that had larger success in Germany and abroad than they ever did stateside.

Oh yeah, DW's have a new album out, too...came out back in April: This Machine. I'm still getting around to listening to it, but first impressions are that it's a bit more stripped down than previous outings.
