Google maps 'street view'

Ever check it out? How the hell did they do that? I can see how the 'hybrid' or satellite view works, but the only way i can figure out producing 'street view' is that they drove cars with like 4-way cameras down each and every street!

I saw the other day that someone is suing them for doing this. I guess the Google "street view" wasnt very flattering and they were in the process of trying to sell their house. Plus I guess the Google people are just walking on to peoples property to take these pictures, which is technically trespassing.

This was on the news last night. The story I saw said they were not walking on people's property but drove down a private lane. The google spokesperson said they took that lane off the system even though their stance was it was a frivelous and stupid lawsuit. They just didn't want to deal with it.

We were in the garage when it drove by and said what the hell is that thing doing, taking pictures? Our now passed dog is in our picture even. They just went real slow. Our garage is open in ours too, which kinda sucks as you can see one of our vehicles and one is on the street as we had quite a limb break off in a previous storm.
