View Full Version : How much do RST forks suck?
Thinking of buying a dirtjumper with a RST Launch DJ fork. Fork feels okay, but there isn't really any rebound adjustment. Kinda just bounces back up at you.
Anyways, do i need to upgrade this fork right away or can I ride it without a problem?
The bike is an atomlab general issue....

Supposedly the new RST forks aren't that bad, check MTBR for some specific reviews.

I would worry about durability only. The rebound really shouldn't have that much of an effect if you are just dirt jumping the bike. Its one thing if you are racing and the fork is losing traction etc because of bumps and rebound speeds...its another when it only bounces back once from landing off a jump.

rebound is a big deal when taking off a lip. really slow rebound is fine IMO, but way too fast rebound is not that sweet. a minor topout tick is one thing, but a fucking pogo stick is a nogo stick.
yeah I was thinking the most annoying part would be popping off a lip and the fork kicks hard...but what do I really know. I suck. Just really need to get on a hardtail and jump it.
Can't find reviews anywhere...

I love poppy forks on a dirtjump bike. Of course my fork only gets about 3mm travel.
If the bike is a deal, get it.......just change the fork as soon as you can.

Is it an air fork or Coil/oil if coil oil you could possibly change the wt of the oil for faster/ slower rebound.
