I'm looking to get some new skis and I've got a chance to either get some 181 07/08 4frnt MSPs or 183 07/08 Scott Missions but haven't heard too much about the Scotts. I'm 5'9" 160lbs and ski hard and fast all over the hill but sticking to more big mountain terrain and never going in the park. Any advice as to which of these of 2 wold be better suited? Or any other suggestions?

go with the 4frnts. light, super stable, and very versatile. i have the vcts, a lil fatter than the msps. i'd go with those personally. they are even more versatile than the msps. they are better in powder which is something you should consider if you're sticking to big mountian. also look into the line prophet 100s.

Line Invader. Great ski for a guy who skis hard all mountain and never goes in the park

njfreeskier, thanks for the tips. I just wasn't sure because a lot of times twins seem to be more park focused. I'll look into the prophets too.

i'm 5'11" 160 lbs. and dig the MSP 181 as an all-mountain ski. its a great quiver-of-one. for bigger lines and deeper snow, the VCT is better.

What size of prophets you recommend? there's some 130's up for grabs but may be a bit wide(?)

Depends on where you ski , but both the 90 & 100 are pretty good all-arounders. The 100's are about as versatile as you'll get from the Prophet line. Wide enough to float in moderate conditions, but still strong enough to cut up the hardpack. If you're gonna be in deep snow all the time, get the 130, but it might be a bit overkill for an everyday ski. I ski with Crass3000 in MN (icy hard "snow"), and he runs his 90's & 100's all the time. That's saying something for a ski to perform well in the shitty conditions we have here most of the time. Shoot him a PM.

Thanks, appreciate that. It's always tough buying gear when you haven't had a chance to take 'em for a spin.

demo'ing = overrated
Sack up and let your cash talk! BUY, SELL. Repeat. ;)

I'll keep that in mind, thanks:) Unfortunately wives don't always like that mentality.
