First brake went fine- so i thought i knew what i was doing. Apparently not.

The procedure for shortening the brake lines is straight-forward, but i managed to F it up on the second brake. While tightening the compression nut, the brake line pulled out of the lever body. The problem is that the compression fitting is still in there and i can't figure out how to remove it :cussing:

Once i get the sucker out, i'm pretty sure i can finish the setup (just have to make sure to keep shoving the line in while i tighten the nut) but i have to get the damn comp. fitting out first. Bike nerds out there: what would you do?

please don't say take it to a LBS- I dropped 40 bucks on the bleed kit and i'm determined to get this shite done myself

Hit it with a hammer. I know, useful advice, as always.

you can all stop worrying now. i couldnt just sit and stare at it, so i did a version of the BFH method described above. actually i just wiggled an allen key inside the fitting and it came loose. exciting read huh:rolleyes2
