I'll be surfing Belmar/Spring Lake this summer. Anyone else gonna be paddling out 'down the shore'?

live about 15 minutes away. surfed their 4 days a week last summer, a lot over the winter when i wasnt skiing. belmar and spring lake is descent, but if you travel a little more check out manasquan, it can get more hollow and waves the waves there are bigger and faster the spring lake and belmar. dont get me wrong they are both very good spots, but some of the suring beaches are best for longboarding.

I'm not good enough to actually surf 'Squan, and don't really want to get hassled by the Cult. But I usually get mt gear at the Inlet Outlet.

then i got the perfect beach for you. washington avenue in spring lake. its a longer wave, more oriented towards longboarding, but you can shortboard it and get air if thats your thing. the other beaches in spring lake have faster waves and get more hollow, meaning you gonna have to do some carving. so, if you a beginnner and dont wanna voyage out to mansquan, hit washington ave. up, it will make you more confortable to the waves, and make your way up to the faster stuff.

Old thread, I know.
Anyways....
There is no cult at Squan.
A bunch of 40+ y/o longboarders does not constitute a cult.
I surf with them almost every day and the vibe is as good as any.
Squan is a nice break but sucks cuz there's only 2 peaks.
And gets ULTRA crowded when it goes off...like 1-2 waves an hour.
Next time you're in Jersey, check out States Ave in Atlantic City.
