Well - I just mounted another pair of skis this evening. They are a pair I bought used from a maggot that I am giving to my dad, but I am going to take them out for some turns this weekend to 'test them out'. :D
But I will be fishing the N. Platte up way of Casper in about 3 weeks for my first casts of the season. ;)
Until then, it will be skiing, but AFTER that, I think I am going to have to really consider my options each weekend...

I really, really wish I still didn't have to pay for a non resident license from wyoming. I guess I can count my blessings I am still a Montana resident, but damn. It's getting too spendy.

I'll prolly grab a Wyo license within a couple weeks. ID sometime in February. I'm itching to get out but January around the tetons isn't really fishin season. Bring on February!

Highs of 30 and sunny in the forecast. Still cold but not to bad. Really it is more of a reason to get the crew together, hang out at the cabin, play poker, drink whiskey and escape from the smog that is the SLC. Although, I do hope to tie into a hog or two in the process.

I bought my California fishing license and Steelhead report card. California has gone to a computerized system that several states have already. My Steelhead report card is two feet long. No worries, license and report card still fit into my license holder.

The new Cal license system rocks! I went online and had it in hand in 2 minutes. My buddy didn't have a printer so he emailed me a PDF, I printed it and gave it to him when he came down to go fishing last week. Super easy. I don't often say this, but way to go DFG!:yourock:

I got mine at the local Big 5 Sporting Goods. It was slow there, and I had a great conversation with the cutie cashier.
A lot of people dislike the new system at the stores. I like it. It's quick. Next year when I get my new license, all the clerk will need to do is swipe my drivers license, ask me what I need, print it out, and collect my money.

Is this the first year you can now purchase non-resident WY licenses online?
Should make fishing the North Platte in WY a little more convienent for us CO residents

I forgot about it too!
I think this is the first year for the outta state online licenses. It needed to happen for the CO, ID and MT people going to some remote spots. Definitely a pain when you have to go way out of the way to get a license for a wknd trip!
See you next summit!

Jesus- every year?
They do a sportsman's Gold or Platinum pass here that is lifetime.
You can do hunting and fishing together. You just pay for snook or tarpon stamps each year. Might do that one soon.
edit- never mind. Guess they got rid of it. Anyway- Annual "kill everything" pass is $100 including snook stamp.
5 Year saltwater pass is $80. Not too bad.

First year of MA's saltwater fishing license. I didn't bother looking for a multi year or a lifetime.
Lobster is every year.
Shellfish is controlled by the towns you want to shellfish in.
HMS is every year.
