Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about Phillipson rods. Moved into a new house recently and while snooping around found an old Fly Rod in a corner. Looks like bamboo and says "Phillipson powr pakt" on the side. Probably right around 8 feet long. Never fly-fished in my life so im clueless if it's a good one or not. Any info would be awesome.

Bill Phillipson spun off from Granger in the late 1940's. Phillipson rods aren't way up in the stratosphere of bamboo rods, but they are way above the working class rods of that era. The last year of production for a Pow'r Pak't was 1952, when they sold for 37.50. It's hard to say without seeing yours, but I'd give a ballpark figure of $400-$500.
