So I'm about to buy some volkl bridges, and of course bindings to go with them, but I just noticed the different stand heights of the bindings and didn't really know how to handle that. I've never skied with lifters or anything before.

I was pretty set on getting Rossi axial 2 140 Ti's or Look px 14 Ti's (I also might be able to get a deal on some jesters). Same binding (minus the jesters), right? but then i saw the Looks have 6 or so mm of lifters added to the toe and heel, and I don't think the rossi's have that.

Obviously 6mm isn't very much, but I don't know anything about the entire issue of stand height, except that it's supposed to increase carving performance or something like that. Is there a downside? I have no idea if this is something I should have or not.

the only binding out of these i know the stand height of is the jester (23mm). the height of the others might help if anyone knows.

thanks

Lifters will also get your boot out of the way so you don't boot out while carving(boot hits snow and drags) They also give you a little more leverage against the ski but can take away some feel for the snow. If you plan to do a lot of carving on a narrower ski some lift is a good idea.

Well the bridge isn't exactly narrow (92 mm waist), and I'll be doing a bit of everything, so I just want my set up to be as versatile as possible. Think the lifters will help or hurt in that regard?

Salomon Z12 = 16.5mm
Salomon STH12/16 = 17.5mm
Look PX12/14 Ti Lifter = 20mm Toe / 26.5mm Heel
Rossi Axial 2 = 20mm Toe / Pretty Sure it's 26.5mm Heel
Head Mojo 15 = 21mm
Marker Jester = 23mm
Marker Duke = 34mm

thanks a lot. looks like they're all close enough that i don't think it'll make a difference.
i'll grab the looks since they look cooler than the rossis
