Dumb questions for the Flexon bunch

1. What is the purpose of the plastic screw on the outside of the sole's heel on some Flexons? It doesn't appear to change position when turned.

2. The intuition/wrap-style liners in a pair of Flexons I recently acquired appear to have been installed with the inside flap on top of the outside flap contrary to what I understand to be correct for the Intuitions, where the outside flap overlaps the inside. Is this standard for Flexons or did they get put in wrong?
