I just pulled the trigger on a pair of these. Anyone here ski a SOMA tech boot? I know its racer geek technology, but I'm curious if anyone has skied these yet and whether its strictly racer dork technology or will they compliment big mtn freeskiing too. Being a plug boot, the fit is pretty savage and I'm going to take the dremel to them soon, so I would like to hear some feedback before they officially become mine.

Skied the 120 last year and have the 130 Pro this year. The Soma stance is no joke. If your foot and leg shape are correct for these boots...feet splayed out, knees that tend to track out and bowed out tib/fibs...these boots will make a noticeable difference in your skiing. After skiing them last year I will never go back.

Plug. Not to fired up about how thin the liner is (may get one of the new Zip Fit low volume Special Edition liners to keep the dogs warm!) but, they ski amazing.
Super responsive and the flourescent lime green is like xeneon headlights on a low light day ;)

toby i was skiing in them the whole last season...i never really got used to the weird angle but perhaps the design may help with transfering weight on the edge...it was all about a different (wider) stance to figure out these boots...

how much grinding did you have to do? I have a weird foot. Its kinda shaped like a pizza slice, wide at the toe box and narrow at the heal. Im worried I wont be able to fit these properly. Do you know what the threshold is for grinding these out?

I have that duck foot stance, so maybe it'll be normal for me.

Fischer has had the Soma boots for a few years now, so its nothing new. The freeski boots are something like 7 deg while the race boots are something like 13 deg. Can't remember the exact number. Anyhow, I didn't notice a thing.

I had to do a LOT of griding and a fair amount of stretching. I have a fairly wide forefoot and some mega bony ankles. This boot has very thick, high quality plastic so they seem to have handled all the mods pretty easily.
