Contest - The K2 Shred with Seth Morrison Contest

....because if I won K2's Shred with Seth it would be "blooody insaaane"! (Micahs words) We'd shred the pow pow in the spirit of Saucerboy, giving Retallick a run for its money. We'd be burning those ObSethed's at both ends of the wick! I'd also throw in an all expense paid trip for my son ( legal age, and rips a gnarly line) and invite Seth to an all expenses paid 1 day trip to Mt. Hood (hey times are tough) so we could rip some sick lines in Heather Canyon. Lets do it up Brah!!!!!

I live and ski in central New York. A frozen tundra of small hills, ice and minimal powder. I'm married to a women that refuses to relocate west for better skiing. I've promised material items, emotional praising and even over priced shoes yet she stands fast in her opposition to letting me go west. I'm a life long skier that has never experienced deep pow, trapped on the blue ice of the east. Skiing in waist deep powder is on my pre-kid bucket list, yet I fear I will never experience it because her "clock is a ticking". Please bring me skiing. Help me K2, you're my only hope!

When I was skiing Crested Butte many, many years back, I kept seeing a guy with red, white and blue striped hair dropping cliffs for what appeared to be a K2 photo shoot. The K2 Four had just come out and the hair matched the skis. At one point during the day, I was tenatively skiing a steep icy face under the lift. The guy with red, white and blue hair yells at me from the lift, "Point 'em!". So I did. I've always assumed that the guy was Seth Morrison since he was in school down the road in Gunnison about that time. I think I should win so that I can finally find out if the guy that called me out from the lift 15 whatever years ago really was Seth.

I think I should win a trip to Retallack BC because I Love to Ski Big mountain And Powder. I live In Montana and there Is alot of Big mountain skiing but not the recognition for it, I have never been Skiing in BC but would like to. I have dreamed to go to BC , Especially Retallack, and furthermore, to shred with Seth Morrison, (The God Of Big Mountain Skiing),which would be Insane! I never thought i would even get a chance to go to Retallack, Even with a Contest, and to win new skis, boots and gloves. I would use every moment of the three days to ski and enjoy the trip. On Thursday, July 8th 2010, LeBron James made his “Decision” to leave the Cleveland Cavs and “take his talents to South Beach.”
I live in Cleveland and since that moment it has been nothing short of a media pummeling of the subject of LeBron’s departure. Worse yet, the hapless Cleveland sports fans’ b*tching and moaning about it has been constant and relentless. I don’t even like basketball – skiing is the only winter sport for me. I ask only to win this trip so that I can get out of Cleveland and spend a mere 3 days at Retallack (taking my talents to the Selkirks) where I don’t have to listen to anyone complain about the loss of their last chance at a championship. I've lived in Michigan my whole life, and I'm the only one in my family that skies. I've never gotten the chance to go out West or East and I would really enjoy it. I'm currently in enrolled full time in college at Eastern Michigan University and I work full time also to pay the bills so I don't have much time to go but skiing is my get away from all the stresses of everyday life. There is something about being alone on the hill that lets me relax. The opportunity to go on this once and a life time trip would be an amazing dream for me.

I hope luck has nothing do with this, otherwise my linguistic skills will be nothing more of a anthill in the prairie. That being said, I want this. Education from experience's in my opinion outweigh formal education tenfold. I am a product of that. However, I aspire to greater things than a ski bum, which is why I want this. Being a part of this industry is something I want and will achieve and this experience would only help me and my goals. A session with Seth and the gear are excellent incentive for someone who is hungry for those things, along with the ski adventure. I am hungry for the trip experience as well as the skiing. I want this for my future.

P.S. I can't lie though, the gear is a total .06% of my reason to due this. May God have mercy on the college students budget.

This is about Cold Smoke. It is not about skis or gloves or lodging or Seth Morrison. Those things and Seth Morrison are all nice and good for sure, but that is not what this is about. This is about levitating in untamed, untouched powder. This is about face shots. Tasting snow, eating snow. This is about the freedom of open space and the serene beauty of a soft mountain world shrouded in a crystal haze. This is about cat skiing in the Selkirks.

Do not get me wrong, I would like to meet Seth Morrison. Holy cow can this guy ski. He throws down with the best in the world. Mostly though, I am interested in knowing whether or not his passion for a good powder day is the same as mine.

Ultimately, his is a life path I wish to pursue. At 33, after 10 years of life in the real world, the world without bottomless pow, the world of 9-5 work, I am ready to find a path to endless lines. Not that I will ever jump of cliffs or star in ski films, but somehow, someway, you will pay. Perhaps Seth can tell me the way....

Been a supporter of Seth since the early days like everyone else. Made myself a stronger skier by riding the original blue flame Seth Morrison pro models in a 203 even though I was 18 and only weighed 150lbs. I took those skis to Jackson and then Cham in search of steeper and wilder terrain and a cat trip with the man himself would just make it for me. I can't wait till my son is old enough to pass my experiences onto and this would give me the opportunity to watch the man himself and pass that on to the next generation.

Skiing defines who I am. It is what I've known and counted on for the past 21 years of my life. Since I received my neon pink "shut up and ski" k2 hat at age 5, or got Doug Coombs' autograph at age 9, this sport has been my lifestyle. Knowing where I've been because of it, and dreaming of where it will take me impacts everything. Extreme skiing is part of me, and I will have it no other way.

I am not so sure that I should win, however since I have three months off work and am Obsethed with Skiing crazy POW, I'd sure love to rock some big boy skis and tear up the Selkirks with Seth for a day back in my mother land. I also think I'm the only person on the planet crazy enough to leave B.C. for the winter to ski in California, but there is only one way to find out if I made the right call or not, might I suggest a trip skiing with SETH MORRISON! Seriously I'm driving everyone in my life crazy with all my talk about skiing. Perhaps it would be a good thing for me to spend some time with people who know the feeling of this Obsethion I have going on. I miss tree skiing. Really bad. I have spent the summer season down here in New Zealand living off nothing and skiing the mountains of the Southern Alps. Don't get me wrong it's been epic and the touring down here is great but just once I was hoping to ski down a big cooler, cruise through a big basin and the end up in the tasty pow that the trees have always held waiting for me. The season is over here now and it has claimed just about all of my gear. Access down here is always an issue and its amazing what 106 river crossings in one day, miles of ice/rock skinning and cheese grater slide for lives can do to a quiver. I've never tele'd before but my dad has a pair waiting for me back home and it looks as if I may have to pick it up quick! PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME TELE AND LET ME WIN! Also I'm tired of walking up mountains, a cat sounds like a much easier way to do this... Can't wait to shred with Seth!

I have this picture in my office right beside my computer... stare at it every day with a handful of other pics from various places I’ve skied. Catch myself re-playing clips in my mind from the Tangerine Dream to Light the Wick. What the cornices must feel like as the heli touches down… Day-dreaming what those spines must be like to drop in on… “How the fuck did he do that” being the common phrase said to myself in my office, only to find out that it wasn’t to myself. Glancing back at the pictures on the wall and realizing that the truth is, most of us skiers will never get to live a fraction of the life that the TGR athletes get to experience. The closest we get is the brief handshake, idle chit-chat about “what’s it like?” at the premiers and sporting the gear that we only wish we could use to its full potential. There is no doubt that Seth, Sage, Dana or Kye are our idols, but not because they can shred like hell and stick the impossible, but because they get to live the life we wish...

I ski at small family mountain in the east. There are maybe one or two days a season where we get some powder. I’ve never been able ski true deep pow or steeps. I have no idea what a face-shot is like nor being even up to my knees in snow. As a result my passion for this one aspect of our sport hasn’t reached it’s potential. Instead I’m usually skiing the groomers and park. Some might call me a “park rat”. Which I can understand cause sure maybe my outerwear has one extra ‘X’ on it than necessary. But you make do with what you have and grow to love it. Cause no matter what you’re doing, if it’s on skis it’s fun. This is why I want to get picked for this opportunity because I know it will open my eyes to a whole new perspective of skiing.

I (like most of the entrants) have been skiing most my life. The most in college when I had a nice, very inexpensive all east ski pass. In recent years, i’ve been taking trips out west to visit my closest college ski buddy living the ski bum life in JH and Salt Lake. He showed my skiing I never knew existed! Extremely envious of his lifestyle I question my own “real life” decision on getting a job after college and living the city life. This past summer my ski buddy friend broke his back downhill mt. biking in Utah. It set me back a bit to say the least and ment that I have no one to ski with out west this winter. Seth Morrison has been a hero of mine for many years and would love to rip ski lines with him in the back country. Please, please consider my candidacy!

Hey Seth, I believe I should ski with you because I've become obsessed with improving my skiing abilities in every type of terrain. Just like most of the other skiers, I have watched you ski in video after video. I know that the only way to become the best skier I can be is to push myself, skiing with people that are better than myself. This would be a trip of a lifetime for me to ski with the best. I need this to scratch the itch I've developed over the last 8 years, skiing Summit County, Jackson Hole, Utah, Sun Valley, and Montana. But never in Canada, and never in the backcountry. After a false start in my 20s, I started seriously skiing about seven years ago and I have worked hard to progress each year. I have had the privilege of skiing with some great instructors and have made a few of the best friends I could hope to have on the mountain. I introduced my three sons to the world of skiing and two of them are now ski instructors. Skiing has brought us closer together as a family. Through the years I have skied with ski "gurus "such as John Egan and "divas" such as Jenn Berg. Skiing with them made me realize that they had ski wisdom to share that you can't get in a standard lesson. Skiing with Seth would be an opportunity to learn more and progress further. Although the mountain we ski on is secondary, from what I have heard Retallack would be an awesome location to tear up together. The gear is a plus, but he'll have to convince me to leave my Seth Vicious 179s behind.

Well for those of you that did not realize jackson hole did not have a ski season last year. We pretended to, we went skiing, we hiked, skinned and snowmachined all in the pursuit of that addicting white powder. Well, I guess we did find it occasionally as seen in Light The Wick, but stashes were few and far between. So how did I spend my winter? Teaching little kids how to ski Teewinott and AV at JHMR. You know how much fun that is....well a little i guess. With another year of that coming up I need an escape. I need to break free of skiing switch at 8 miles an hour watching 6 kids follow me, waiting until the next one falls. I NEED A BREAK, i need to get out there with seth and some snowcats and take my Obsethed's from the bunny hill and back into the steep and deep where they belong!

i v skied the last four years at sunshine in alberta and have just moved back to ontario. the reason why i should win is i am hving a baby in january and probally wouldn t be able to get out skiing for a while with its arrivial . i have heard lots about the Retallick Catskiing and watched all of their stuff on youtube. 3 years ago I moved to slc, it for an internship to cook at snowbird. While my time there I feel in love with the mountains and had a so so ski season with 63 days. Once I completed my internship I graduated culinary school and moved to washington dc to work in a prestigious restaurant to further my career. I hated dc and could only think of the mountains. I packed up my truck and told my girl were moving to aspen to slay the gnar. I've been snowboarding for 10 years and I cant stand it anymore. I would love to be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ski with a new pair of fat nasty skis, and shred with Seth. Aspen is too expensive for line cooks and purchasing new gear. Maybe tgr could also throw in a set of skins. Pray for deep powder days this year!

What sets me apart from the other contestants? Well, not very many people know this but over the summer I received a couple strongly worded letters in the mail from Seth Morrison about him trash talking me, my old boots, and my stylish skiing abilities (he’s obviously a little envious). See, back in May, a couple friends and I were shredding in the backyard when all of a sudden Seth shows up. After a few sessions, Seth and I have a friendly competition to see who could throw the gnarliest trick. I end up winning with a beautifully done 90 degree spin out of a flat box. Seth was kind of a sore loser and he blamed it on his “boots”. Ha, right… I told him to try and use my old clunkers from 6 years ago and, and then complain to me. Unfortunately, Seth went and got himself some new Full Tilts and now I think he might be able to beat me! So please give me some Full Tilts, a pair of ObSethed skis, and an opportunity for me to beat him again in the deep powder of Canada! Seriously, Seth is obsethed with trash talking me...

Hi,
I know i'm probably going up against quite a few young guns who can ski circles around me, but here goes.
My dad first stuck "The Pure" needle in me at age 3, and the addiction started. Riding the rope at Sierra Ski Ranch, SLT, was my first taste of freedom and my Northland skis were my ticket to adventures. How could i keep this high going in my life?
I bummed a life at SLT in my early 20's, learned to love the taste of "blower" and couldn't get my fill. I later instructed at The Ranch, but teaching ankle biters wasn't getting into "The Pure".
And then, as if heaven sent, a company called TGR appeared. And they made videos. Oh sure, Warren and Greg had been doing it for years, but TGR was different. Was "The Pure" really that deep in the northland? I couldn't buy them fast enough. From The Continuum and Harvest, all the way up to Light the Wick, my collection grew. But alas, my sticks have yet to taste "The Pure" of the great north lands. I cry out in pain, "When will i be delivered, and taste 'The Pure' for myself?"

as a man of few words i can relate to Seth and his style of shredding big scary mountains., however this dose not help with friends that seek advice from me as for my response is usually..." just do it" or " i dunno if i can do it you can do it". i am still unsure wither this is due to an overwhelming level of confidence on steep scary slopes or if it is just some natural calm before the storm. to me this trip would not be about the gear or the location (as top notch as all that is) its about the connection to something bigger its about the feeling as your standing at the top of a new run palms sweating heart pounding out of your chest, nothing compares to that feeling. skiing almost takes a spiritual place in my heart as i dont just ski, i see, i hear and i feel the strength of the world when i click into my K2's.

Sitting here in Indianapolis approximately 1.5 hours from what only an ant would consider a ski mountain. Snow may be on the ground, but the only option would be skiing down the onramp of highway 465 which encircles the city whose highest point belongs to a bank, which unfortunately holds the pittance of money currently to my name. Nevertheless, what does manage to make it's way into that account shortly escapes and swiftly enters the airline's ever-waning account and the local pubs of ski towns around the country. As for why I deserve this - who knows. But I've come to the conclusion I'm suffering from low-altitude sickness brought on by the corn-scattered plains of Indiana!

This year my wife’s car finally bit the dust. Getting her a new car this year resulted in putting a serious dent in my ski budget. Any help getting out more would be amazing, and we all know how pricey equipment could be, but add three days of cat skiing, one with Seth, and that would be like a dream come true.
The fact that I have only once done big mountain skiing (10 years ago in Switzerland for one day with my graduating class in high school) kills me. Living out east, it would be unreal for me to get a true big mountain experience. I make the best out of a bad winter-situation living in the Montreal area and the ‘mountains’ that we have because that is just the type of person that I am but it’s heartbreaking when we get the occasional dump and I have nowhere to use it to its full potential.
Please pick me guys! I promise that Seth wouldn’t mind!

Being able to win a trip with Seth would be an up most honor. Ive always wondered what it would be like to ski with a pro,or in that case just Seth Morrison!, and how much knowledge you could gain just from a day of shreddin pow. I would love to be able to win because i would use that knowledge gained and apply it to my present skiing. Theres not really a reason why "I" should win a trip but if so then i would say because i would not only take in what is said to be givin away but overall take in the whole experience of being somewhere Ive dreamed to ski someday and take hold of the knowledge Seth would give me. Also the type of snow and terrain Retallack offers is what i love to ski and plus ive never been cat skiing. Seth Morrison+Pow+pillows+trees= one awesome 3 days that would change my life forever.

Since I lived in Ohio almost ten years ago where I learned to ski until i moved to Colorado I have skiied every single year. I am one of the biggest advocates at Colorado State University in Pueblo for southern skiing. I ran into Seth last year and rode the lift with him at Loveland at the beginning of the season. I ended up riding the lift in complete silence with him and inside I knew who it was yet I wasn't entirely sure. We arrived at the top and some dude looked at me and said "you know who that was?" It was then that I knew exactly who I rode up with. I felt the craziest vibe from riding up, it was like there was a God sitting next to me. Ive got more respect for Seth than anyone. I ride Breckenridge yearly and would most definitely want to hit up Retallick and win some skis because my 5 year old Lines are trashed and unusable and I can barely pay for college as it is.

SETH, I have watched you ski for some time now. as a matter o fact i just finished writing a reserch paper for english on you a mere 5 mins ago. dude you are one hell of a skier and i would be honered to ski with you. it has actually been my lifelong dream, you are my favorite skier of all time, your style is unmached by anyone i want to know how you do it i NEED to meet you. i watch you and i watch freestyle skiers, i have respect for what they do but what you do is far crazyer and looks scary as hell. i have never gotten the opportunity to go cat skiing but i have always wanted to. i have been riding k2 skis for the last 4 years and just got some 2010 hellbents this year But i need some POW to shred. i just broke my wrist skiing the day before my local resort opened and get shit from my freinds every day that im not skiing, it cuts my ski season in half but comming back and cat skiing with SETH MORRISON would wipe that stupid grin off their faces....

Ever since I found out I share a last name with Seth I knew he had to be my idol.

As an 18 year old college kid, with not too much money and old gear I continue to be motivated by Seth and his amazing skills. Innovation is one word that comes to mind. Innovation and no-fear. I aspire to be that and I continue to live life on the edge when I ski. It could only help to learn from the best with Seth. Big ups to K2 for continuing to help Seth do what he does best.

I could go on a 200 word tangent professing my deep idolization of Seth Morrison, and how I was never able ski powder growing up so I deserve to win. I don`t want ski with Seth Morrison because I see him as a god, or some other super natural being. I want to ski with him for I see him as not only one of the most talented skiers in the world, but also one of the most modest and true individuals within our sport. I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, skiing primarily at Stevens Pass. Around the age of eight or nine I saw some snowboarders going off jumps and doing tricks. I made the decision to switch over to snowboarding. I was in the shop with my dad looking at snowboards when my eyes wondered over to the television screen next to the ski display. What I saw shocked me, This guy doing a huge back flip. Not on a snowboard, but on skis. I interupted the sales pitch and asked who that was. The man scoffed and just said ``That`s Seth Morrison little man``. That 30 second clip opened my eyes to a whole new...

I was sponsored for 6 years by dynastar and 2 years by blizzard and dalbello, doing photos and freeride contests ... finish a few times in the top 15 in les arcs , tignes , verbier ...
injuries come with that ... both knees , both ankles , dislocated elbow ...
after the ankles episode (more than a year without ski ) I was in perfect shape to ski again so in summer 2009 , I went to argentina and chile to ride ... so good so far ...
but wen I came back to france , they found a bad tumor on my pancreas (sorry if I use the wrong words ) it was a cancer ...
so , after one month at the hospital , lost 15 kg , i start chemo therapy for 6 month ...
in january , I recover some weight and I could ski again ... weak but still on my skis !
two month later , my body was used to the treatment ski and chemo therapy every tuesday ... but in march , I broke my leg (chin) 18 screws and a plate ......

I am currently in law school in Utah. I study all day long so that I can ski whenever I have a break from school. During my undergraduate studies I would ski almost every day and study on the weekends. I now study almost every day and ski on the weekends. I still get out more often than most people though, which is pretty cool for a law student. Thanksgiving break has been awesome for me, I have been able to ski a lot. This picture I attached is a pillow line I skied on Thanksgiving day, yesterday. It’s not the steepest or sketchiest line out there, I admit it, but it was a lot of fun, especially for November! Please give the the opportunity to ski with Seth at Retallack so that I can blow off steam from all the studying I have to do. Skiing has always been an integral part of my life. It is what most people know me for. You might say that I am obsethed with it.

These Huck dolls--Shane McConkey & JT Walker--were last prize in the Secret Santa thing during the 2003 Chirstmas party at the 'outdoor' magazine where my wife worked as a photo editor. Nothing happened 'til 07, when we moved from Santa Fe back to NYC. First it was a kind of pathetic ehhhhh-ehhhhhh-ehhhhh. Kind of hard to notice. My kid doesn't sleep. Ever. I want him to have a normal life. He started saying, 'Papa, Papa Bats, Bats....Papa Bats, Bats'....We took him to a great art therapist who helped him make this bat hat. When we got home I went and grabbed the dolls and SCREAMED WHAATTT DO YOU WANT FROM US!!!!???? Take us to Morrison and Jacob sleeps. And you ski!! Two years since Silverton, shit!! You need pow!! Skiing with the godfather would be a dream come true. As a young child I used to pull out the posters of Seth going huge from my Freeze magazine and post them all over my room. I once believed that I could be that guy I looked up to with the pink hair but as I grew older it was apparent that my abilities were not even close to his. The realization that Seth might have super human strength crossed my mind more than once when I was trying to push myself to be more proficient on the hill. Skiing has always been “that thing” that I am constantly striving to improve for myself and no one else. Life goes on with or without snow. I just turned 29 and have been blessed with a son, Marek. This will be the first season I can remember without having a season pass. Skiing is what I dream about. I've been on the mountain since I was 5 years old and can never get enough. When I think about the best days of my life, every single one involves me skiing. From my first trip out west to Jackson Hole when I was 8 years old to dropping out of college last year to live in Tahoe for the winter, the rush is what I fiend for. There's nothing better than just pointing it and going. Guys like Seth have been my inspiration to chase my dream. I ski because it's fun and makes me feel alive, plain and simple. I've never encountered anything better. A trip to Retallack would give me an awesome opportunity to ski lines that I've only dreamt about and watched Seth shred for years. Set aside that Seth has always been my inspiration for big mountain skiing. Set aside the time when I was in high school and Seth came out to Maine for the MSP Ski Movie tour and told me after I had gushed to him that skiing in Maine is nothing special and said "Hey man, skiing is skiing, send it!" Forget the countless times I have pined to be on the same line with him in BC or AK. Nevermind the fact that I would give anything to try out his new Obsethed skis. Seth Morrison walked up to the bicycle race that I was running at age 11. Young Seth was sporting a pair of Lycra shorts, that were, let us just say on the baggy side. Seth along with his crew, would come to visit me in the boot shop that I managed just to play video games on my early, early, Mac. I used to work with his little homies on the proper techique to throw a ball, their parents were not from here. Seth continued to race with us for the next seven to eight years. I was Seth's mountain bike coach when he was a senior in high school. He at the time was one of the top amateur racers in the country. Then Seth went to college in the SW of Colorado, discovered free skiing, and the rest is well, history. I have just now got back in touch with Seth as we have exchanged emails and an old home coming is the reason that I should be that guy.

For most people their earliest memory is one that involves a very big moment in their life. My earliest memory is being ejected from a baby backpack because my dad fell when he was skiing. This was my first skiing induced adrenaline rush at the grand old age of 1 year and 8 months. By the age of two I was out skiing on my own two feet and already trying pushing myself to go faster and harder. Eighteen years later I am still pushing myself everytime that I step into my skis. The east coast has been my playground for 18 years and I truly love it here, but skiing the West Coast has been my dream. I would love to be able to float on bottomless powder and drop cliffs that on the east coast would be suicide. Skiing the steep and the deep is every skiers dream, and I would love the opportunity to live that dream.

I'm a 22 year old University student taking a Bachelor of Arts up here in Canada. As a result, the majority of my ski season is spent in the classroom being spoon-fed bullshit by "the man" while dreaming of what I'd rather be doing: skiing. I'm often asked what I intend to do with my degree when I graduate, but the truth is I have no idea. What I do know is the sense of freedom that skiing brings me on my limited days on the mountain. I should win because, as a broke & starving student, a Cat skiing trip is far beyond my wildest dreams. I would love for the chance to learn something from one of my idols in a classroom that involves powder and not four walls. When all is said and done...after I graduate and I am working a management job at your local Dairy Queen, I would love to be able to say that my degree at least taught me how to write a good enough paper to win me a skiing trip of a lifetime!

I love to ski, i always will. I live in east vail, and on one snowy day met seth on the bus coming back from one such powdery lap. To my embarresment i acted like a 11 year old girl bumping into justin bieber in the hallway enroute to the bathroom. The guy's a rockstar in my world, landing 200 footer double backflips in flat light , come on!!! I would love the opportunity to meet him again, act like a grwon man, and make some turns. Skiing is my true passion and there is nothing I enjoy more! There is just nothing better and more special out there to me then skiing. The few weeks in the year that I get to shred powder in bigger mountains out west are what I look forward to for months and months. I think about and am interested in skiing more then anything else. Seth is the biggest icon in skiing and it would be such an honor and awesome experience to get to ski a day with him. Skiing means everything to me and just the idea of getting to go cat skiing gets me really stoked on all skiing in general. Hello, Skiing is my life. My love for the sport is so great it has become a lifestyle and something I plan to do for the rest of my life. I travel to Vermont each weekend from November through April to ski. I think i should win because I live on the East Coast and rarely get the chance to ski real powder. I had the opportunity to ski the back country at Jackson Hole, WY last year--truly the best day I've ever had. At Killington, my mountain of choice here in the East, I take advantage of the terrain parks to keep me challenged and help me progress; but when there's good snow you will always find me in the woods searching for stashes and cliffs. I've been watching TGR films for years and last month, I attended TGR's new movie "Light the Wick." it was phenomenal! I was so stoked (and admittedly, a wee bit jealous) for my best friend when he won new Atomic Bentchetlers at the premier, and he would be stoked for me if I won a trip to Rettallick. My name is Meatball. I am a girl. I love skiing and get more excited about it than anyone I've met thus far in life. Here are a few things you should know about me:
*I ski everyday.
*It's my goal to eliminate "for a girl" from the skiing lexicon (as in, "she rips...for a girl")
*I shower in nasty work locker room showers so I can get two more runs in everyday.
*My annual income cut in half and my cost of living doubled, but I live in a ski town.
*I eat from the employee dining room 99% of the time, because I spend all my money on skis and related items.
*I had a goggle tan before the first of December.
*On the rare occasion I have to work a day shift, I skin up in the evening so I can at least get on top to bottom.

This morning I was doodlin’ around on the world wide web and I came across this contest to go skiboardin’ up in Alaska with Seth Morrison this winter. I don’t know much about that place other than it’s in Canada, which is cold, and I’m probably going to have to wear two pairs of jeans to stay warm. I should get to go because I am very good with the extreme sports. One time I made a long bungee jump rope out of duct tape and even though the doctor said that most of the scars will go away, I should never jump off of the roof of a silo again. So that’s why this snow thing is looking pretty darn good, everybody knows its just like landing in cold mashed yams, but doesn’t taste as good unless you bit your tongue and then you can’t tell anyway. So Ill be ready to come up to Canada for a few days and ride around on them mountain zambonis, hang out with Seth, and test out my new waterproof jeans. Dear K2,
I woke up this morning and felt mundane. The neat little things in my room seemed less unique and my Line skis looked slightly malnourished (dirty, and a little bit too skinny). I thought to myself as I stared at them from my covers, "how am I ever going to make the kind of powder turns that fill my wet dreams?" How will I, when I ski at Terry Peak? It is a charming little mountain, yet it lacks the fluffy tree lines and steeps of the big mountains? Well... K2... i think you have the answers to all my questions. I feel as though three days spent cat skiing, including one with Seth Morrison, is the remedy to my fall time blues.

Out of all of the pro skiers out there I think that I relate to Seth the most. I appreciate the way that he lets his skiing do the talking. He seems about as understated as it gets and I admire that. He constantly pushes the envelope but you can tell that he is a private person. I’ll be the first one to admit that I probably do not deserve to win this contest and that I would have a hard time keeping up but I can tell you that I wouldn’t let it go to waste. I’m a decent skier but I have a lot to learn and if I were to win this contest it would give me the opportunity to learn from one of the best. I always want to be around people who can push my limits and keep my on my toes. A trip to Retallick lodge would be the icing on the cake.

Why should I win? It's quite simple, I have been skiing since I'm 4 yrs old and god I love this sport. I love it so much that I deceided to become a ski instructor 3 years ago. Making money out of what you love, gosh it's unbeliveable. All those kids who may become addicted like me one day, skiing almost 100 days a year. I feel iike I should win the cat skiing trip with Seth for a number of reasons... and here they are:
I know a lot of people want to ski with the legendary Seth Morrrison, but I'm sure not many could keep up. You wouldn't want Seth babysitting or teaching some powder noob, or even a good pow skier. I have competed in big mountain competitions, and I have the skills to charge with team skiers. That being said... no 60 footers for me thanks. In addition to being able to actually ski with Seth... I am a long time fan and actually bought the green Seth Vicious with the hardcore 916 Lab bindings because I wanted to be able to ski like him. I know Seth swears by those clamps, and I did too for 5 years until I blew out a toe wing while maching through bumps at scary speed. The binding was broken but it still didn't let go of me at 60 mph while bouncing through some manky moguls. I also met Seth while at High North Ski camp and know his calm demeanor and I swear, I wouldn't piss...

Ok, let's face it. Seth can ski with whoever he wants and find lots of great skiiers to rip with. But what he "needs" on a promo day is good entertainment. So that's why you should pick me! Cat rides are loooooong and can be boring so you definitely need something besides the usual dudes discussing equipment or guides telling guide jokes. Then there's the need for on hill entertainment by someone who for some reason tends to make spectacular endo's and goofy falls. All my ski buddies tell me I'm always good for the entertainment portion of a trip. Not only that, but I can actually ski (Uh, fast, ok, not as fast as Seth!). And as fas as K2, who doesn't need new equipment? K2 needs someone to make their equipment look good on the hill so they can sell more (ok, ignore earlier comment on goofy falls...).

Seth Saved My Life
When you are in the hole so deep that the only thing that gets you through the day is a handful of pills, you need something inspiring, pure, god-like….Seth. It was my senior year of college at CU and I was in a bad way. I had grown up skiing bumps semi competitively and later went to back country / cliff dropping. However, with my drug use, I no longer had the drive to ski even on fairly large powder days. In a high out of my mind stupor, I started watching some old Seth clips… The fire inside started to light once again. I graduated two weeks later, quit cold-turkey, packed up and moved to Jackson Hole for the legendary 07’/08’ season. Best decision of my life and if I hadn’t pulled out those old Seth clips, I honestly think I could be dead or close to it. I later moved to Vail and would see Seth on the East Vail bus a few times a week. I never went up to him to thank him or to just chat about skiing, I’m not sure if I should have or not. I have been a loyal fan for years. I had lived in Colorado for about 13 years. I had been a ski patroller for 10 years. My attached photo was from the National Avalanche School at Telluride in 2008. I recently moved from Colorado back to the Chicago-area due to financial and work related circumstances. I had convinced myself to take the season off from skiing to be an "adult" and make some money. I have seen pictures from all of the great skiing this past fall from my firends in Aspen, Vail, Winter Park, and Telluride. I'm starting to think I should have just stayed being Peter Pan.

I've never been cat-skiing, I've heard it's more fun than hiking. I've also never been that far west in Canadia. I've only been to Windor, across the river from Detroit. I would love to spend 3 days charging in BC with new gear and the chance to meet Seth Morrison. There would always be rumors of him skiing at Loveland, like a phantom or something.

After many years of being a hard core ski bum with seasons at Stratton, Snowbird, Jackson and Bridger Bowl, I went and screwed it all up about 5 years ago by getting a 'real job'. As a part time skier i had a hard time slowing down and staying fit and ended up getting injured a few times. Along with work commitments, I have gone from 100 days a year to maybe 15.

This year, I'm healthy, have a Bridger pass and a pile of vacation time and am hoping to make up for lost time! Seth's powerful fluid style has always been inspirational to me and I would be thrilled and honored to ski with him for a day. And well, you know, new gear and some heli time wouldn't suck either! It's 100% man-made snow and the runs last 5 minutes or less! I've been watching and learning from Seth Morrison since I was a little kid. He is my favorite skier bar none and has tremendously influenced my style and my skiing. I’ve dreamed of skiing with Seth even if just for one run. I work in Event’s at Mt. Bachelor, OR and do some coaching with MBSEF where I’ve been blessed to see the miracles and gifts of God work first hand and Seth definitely operates in that realm. I’ve skied since age 3, raced since age 14 and can do flips and spins so I know I can roll with Seth. I have a positive attitude and a desire to perform and learn that cannot be matched. I love Seth not only for his skiing abilities, but his personality and style are one of a kind and rare. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am 16 and have been skiing seriously for 1yr this is my second yr. work as a ski instructor at my home hill of snowvalley, I am in gr.12 a St.Francis Xavier high school. Skiing is what i do and love, that is why i teach kids to ski.
I try as hard as I can to get to the mountains which are 4-6hrs away, and don't usually get the best snow. Which means ive only ever had 4 powder days ever on my old Salomon teneightys at kicking-horse resort, which were my favorite days on snow ( with my best friends and brothers). I would love to go skiing at Retallick it has been my main goal for the last three years to go skiing there ever since i saw edits, and karl the gnarl. The +/- is that i just bought a pair of obsetheds, which aint so bad cause if you guys pick me to win then i can give my one brother the new pair of skis he has been trying to save up for and my other brother the boots he needs.

I love skiing more than anything. In the last year since moving from Ohio to Vail, I've spent as much money on skiing as I spent on food. I work as a lifty and my friends from out of town get sick of how much I talk about skiing. Just yesterday, Seth was riding my lift and I wanted to be able to take just one run with him. Because the last time I saw Seth was just after high school. I drove my mom's minivan 13,600 miles on a road trip from WV straight to Crested Butte, which was very crested! &onto the cottonwoods,JH, then a quick arrest at the border. No worries made it in the next day bound for Lake Louise. After my concussion i realized i was still in Canada so why not to head to whistler. Drove thru a hellacious snowstorm and landed in Revelstoke. Stopped in town for a couple kokanees at the pub. Who do I see chillin inside, bright red haired Seth and crew, filming for Global Storming. just out looking for low pressure systems. After the canadian sled dudes cornered us in the bar the bouncers guided us out the backdoor. it was 3am, I was 19 and ready to throw down for my hero. Watching Seth's segments was the reason i was living in a van out in canada following my dreams. He inspired me then and has continued thru the years. Thank you Seth for all your hard work. First off i'm awesome, and always bring enough beer to go around. I'm originally from AK, and enlisted in the Marines when i was 19 and didn't relies how obsessed with skiing and that I'd only get to go a couple times a year. . I've been on the East (ice) coast for the last 2 years and only get home to go home to ski real mountains once a year for 10 days. I recently received orders to change my duty station from Washington D.C. to Camp Penleton CA. Even though ill be on the West coast, I'll still have to make the 6-7 hour drive to Mammoth in an attempt to get some decent skiing in. Lastly my new Battalion will be getting deployed to Afghanistan during next winter so there goes another winter with out skiing. Nothing would help coping with not being able to ski better then memories of EPIC skiing with one of the skiing gods himself Seth Morrison.

Yeh, I've got that ol' *feel young inside* stuff...I started skiing in 2002, or so, when I was only pretty old...I don't really fit into the "Ski World", and yet, ironically I feel at home here. Thanks to stiff, wide-ish ski's I get to challenge, and test myself around Tahoe. My top level is stuff like Rock Garden at Squaw, Ski-School at Kwood, and 1st time last season, Pallisades at SugarBowl...and I love Cats...)

In 2007, my life as a skier and skydiver became paralyzed with fear. As a strong minded person I soon began having fainting spells and then a couple of serious panic attacks in a restaurant and on a plane. I became a skier that could no longer ride on a tram and a skydiver who could no longer fly on a commercial plane. It was a domino effect that spiraled out of control to the point where I could barely leave my house and drive two miles to work. Everyday life skills that I took for granted soon became huge obstacles as I fell from one extreme to another. Skiing, my friends and my family saved me from these crippling anxieties. Nothing was going to stop me from skiing again. Through skiing, I have been able to relate so many positive experiences to these non-threatening, daily anxieties that they began to diminish. I am happy to say that I am back slaying McConkey’s at Squaw and dropping 50 foot cliffs like it’s my job. I would love the opportunity to sit in a Snow Cat with Seth, something that wouldn’t have...

Thank God this comp has happened – I’ve been studying Seth’s technique for years, and someone (me) really needs to give him a few pointers on his skiing. He’s technique is a little rough around the edges and he’s a bit of a pussy when it comes to skiing hard.

In three days I know I can make him a better skier, get him hitting the steep lines and hucking the biggest cliffs. I’m not interested in celebrity, the free skis, the boots, the lodge, the cat, the powder or even Carl the Gnarl (well, it would be sweet to meet the Gnarl), I just want to make Seth a pro.

I’ll do this free of charge for the sake of Seth’s career but I need to know he’s in it 100% and he's got to be open to change and new ideas. No backchat Morrison.

I don't want to tell you why I should win because the person who should win, is the most amazing person I know. He's not only a stand up guy, he's a sick skier. I cannot think of a more deserving person to win than Micah Schuette. Who's engineering degree sits in a box while he works the night shift at Vail Mountain Lodge so he can pursue and progress his skiing. We all know there's no such thing as a ski bum. The outstanding people I know who live and work in mountain communities work harder than any of my friends who have "real jobs". All this so we may enjoy sport we love. Micah is is the real deal. He's here in the mountains on a work to ski, ski to live agenda. Working for Vail Resorts is not the "Experience of a Lifetime" THIS IS and Seth, he's chased you around Northwoods, China Town, even ridden lifts and buses with you. I have a beautiful wife and 4 beautiful kids. But i barely have time to breathe. I have spent this past off season thinking about the mountains and vast hours training hard to increase both my strength and endurance purely for this season’s skiing.

Like a lot of other contestants, I have many years experience skiing, but I have also spent time in Hokkaido, Japan skiing some of the deepest, most consistant gladed snow there is.

I enjoy pushing it to the edge of control and constantly setting new challenges. At 36 years old, I began skiing in the park for the first time last season in this quest to continue challenging myself. This season, this resumes with a soon to be completed Avalanche course, and taking it more and more into the back country.

For these reasons, combined with my passion for skiing and deep snow I believe I should win the opportunity and challenge to ski with Seth at Retallick Cat Skiing this winter.

Grew up getting drug along on family XC trips through the Cascades, as soon as I could walk I was on XC skis. Family enjoys the outdoors - fortunately for me, but slowly trekking through the forest wasn’t my cup of tea as a kid (gear and lift tickets for a family of seven was too much). On family vacations I’ve climbed Mt. Rainier twice, hiked around it (100 miles), gone XC skiing snowshoeing more than I can remember and numerous other adventures such as a weeklong family bike trip along the Oregon Coast and a month long trip through the Grand Canyon. Three years ago I got my first chance to do downhill. I found my sisters old skis, old REI rentals, the people who rented them skied them to a pulp, then she did, and now I do. I’m attending college near Grand Targhee & too poor for a lift ticket so I’ve started to love the backcountry. I would really appreciate some gear and a machine to get me up the hill. ..aint easy bein from the east coast. dreaming of west coast pow and my once a year ski trip out west. magazines and ski movies keep me going till the first week of february when i pray the snow gods dump major loads on ?????, aint tellin ya where i go. anyway, i do get in a new york city ski movie premiere every year and remember years ago at one of the first, when i met a red plaid panted Seth Morrison. maybe 50 people in the basement of one of manhattans bars to watch the movie. meet and greet and all. had to take names of kids because they ran out of videos to give out. fast forward a few years and another new york city premiere and now the place is packed. i live in minnesota so what i call powder some call slush. recently i was told that my doctor is aan idiot because he gave me a strong antibiotic to help with my infected cist (located on my stomach). that impacted me alot because i wasn't able to ski because of the burning rash covering my body but i recovered and am skiing better than ever at my local hill hyland (small) their park is great but i havnt had the chance to ski powder and it would be the best experiance of my life so thanks

I eat sleep breathe skiing. I can't even begin to fully describe my love of skiing. Being born in Kansas I started out skiing only a few times a year, maybe a total of 15 days a year. I knew this would never be enough, so I moved. Transferring high schools to CRMS in Carbondale Colorado, I was able to log three straight season of over sixty days, one of which contained around 30 days of skiing with a broken arm in a full cast, an injury I suffered skiing. Shoulder to wrist in a sling, but I was still living the dream.

I love to ski. I've been doing it for 16 years, and in that time I've never skied outside a resort (ducking ropes and jumps built in parks don't count). Going helicopter or cat skiing has always been a dream for me, but as a college student, even if I sacrificed my beer money, I doubt it would cover it. Every year I look forward to Seth's parts in movies, skiing with him would be amazing. His skiing style is awesome, and his movie segments are always some of the gnarliest. I grew up in Kitsap County, Washington, not far from the K2 headquarters in Vashon.
I have dedicated my life to skiing, first working at Crystal Mountain (WA) when I was 19 for a season, then Snowbird (UT) for 2 seasons. Last season I was an intern at Silverton Mountain in Colorado. I have always tried to move to larger and steeper terrain in an effort to step it up and improve my skiing. I've spent the last 6 months hitch-hiking through Europe, the first two months in Norway, then two months in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark, and the rest of the time in Germany. In Norway this summer I spent 3 weeks of my time in the driving rain and cold, but stuck to it as I have with everything I've done in my life. I would love to have an opportunity to ski with a ski legend such as Seth Morrison, and have always looked up to people like him when trying to improve myself. See you out there!

I believe I should win because of my passion and obsession to witness big mountain skiing progress. Iv been an avid follower of Seth Morrison and his affect on the skiing industry. From his days with match stick productions to teton gravity, iv always seen Seth at the top of the sport. He has a humble character off the mountain but explodes on the mountain with a predator view of his line.
As much as I think I know about his history on and off the mountain, i believe meeting and skiing with the number one athlete would be a life changing experience for my self. Talking, walking and listening to someone who has been an idol of mine would truly be an unforgettable experience. Not to mention I would appreciate some tips from the master himself.

Skiing in Canada is an old dream of mine and to do so with Seth Morrison AND a pair of K2's under my feet would be huge. Among other late and great K2 team members Seth Morrison is , in my opinion, one of those who pushed freeriding forward to where it is today. Still he havent been skiing with me and really think he deserves that...it might actually be the other way around here :) but, for short: I love skiing and been dreaming of skiing in Canada since i was a kid and doing so with Seth Morrison would be...well...at least epic.

My friend Clint turned me on to skiing in 2004 when he picked up a pair of Seth Pistols, and gave me his old Bandits. Since 2004, I have skied every season with Clint, and his brother Chris; Clint is still on his Pistols. Last May, Chris was injured during a charity race, which resulted in his paralysis. Although I may never get to ride with Chris again, Clint lost something more - the ability for him and his brother and to enjoy the things they grew up enjoying together, especially skiing.

For Clint and Chris, things will never be the same. If I was to win this contest, I would like for the prize to be given to Clint. Clint has always looked up to Seth's style, and although Clint would do anything to ski with Chris again, an opportunity to ride with Seth might help him through this season.

Skiing with Seth ? One word can only descibe this - AWESOME! He is one of the premier skiers around. The only things better than enjoying skiing with him at Crystal Mtn. would be to shred some B.C, powder. Nothing compares to it. Light and deep and losts of steeps.I haven't been able to to have the pleasure of B.C. powder for many years. I think I should win the trip because I love skiing. I love skiing so much that in 2008, I attempted to show TGR's Under the Influence in Pittsburgh. The movie rocked, especially Seth, but the Pittsburgh crowd isn't really into skiing as much as I thought. Needless to say, it was a big financial loss and my ski trip that year had to be cut way back. If that showing would have been successful, I would have gone to Retallick Cat Skiing that year. Oh well, I still had an awesome time watching a ski film on the big screen in the 'Burgh (note none of the other film tours stop in Pittsburgh). Seth is a huge influence in my skiing and I hope to run into him someday. K2, Hestra and Full Tilt are all really great too.

I've been watching Seth ski for years, my copy of "Steep" is wearing thin and I'm constantly amazed at what he does in the air. Since I was two years old, skiing has been part of my life. Through a decade of racing, I was burnt out. After finding myself playing team sports like baseball and football, I grew out of my high school shell and tried skiing again. One run into my revamped career, torn ACL. It was then I saw my first full length ski movie, Under the Influence. The way skiing had progressed since I was a youth has completely changed. I can't believe how my skiing has now changed. Skiing powder and loving the outdoors is how I live my life now. However, because I go to Cornell University, the abundance of powder I would love to ski is nowhere near I want it to be. I don't really think I could come up with 200 words to justify why I deserve this prize. I have some money to buy some sick gear. I could come up with the money to do some cat skiing. And I definitely don't have the talent to shred with Seth Morrison. Regardless, this contest is totally rad - not in terms of prize value, but just in terms of commitment to sharing the stoke! Seth’s willingness to sponsor this contest is either a sign of just how far he’s willing to go to serve as an ambassador for the sport, or how high the stakes can get when those TGR guys are grounded in AK playing Texas hold ’em. Either way, I applaud him. Bravo. To see Seth ski live, at full speed, with the full size mountains as the backdrop, would be monumental. To ski (or ragdoll down) those same lines with him would be indescribable in terms of stoke and awe.

To have the chance to ski with the greatest freeskier of all time would be absolutely amazing. Seth has in my eyes completely changed the thoughts about skiing. I remember the first time I bought a pair of Seth Pistols (2003 I think) and I brought them to the Italian Dolomites. My italian friends were like "You stupida danish guy ... this is a ski for da Canada .... not for Italy....!" When they saw them perform their minds were changed and the next year everybody was riding fats...

well, i think i should win this just because i have absolutely no good gear. I compete on an international level and i am 14 years old. I have the same skis that i used last season. A pair of skis that is about 10 centimeters too short for me. And for boots. i have some rental boots that i was obligated to use. I have no money to buy anything. I have been saving up for a year so that i might be able to buy the obsethed next year. To make money, i mow a lot of lawns. The boots i have, i cant ski for more than one day without having to take painkillers because they are so bad. I think that at my level, i am worthy of having at least some semi-decent equipment. please help me. I will be forever grateful if i win this.

Not a minute goes by when I don't think about skiing. Unfortunately I am in medical school right now and am punished with views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams on a daily basis which only reminds me of what I am missing. Last year I worked a graveyard shift job in UT and would often head straight form work up Little Cottonwood trying to sleep in my crappy car without much luck due to avalanche guns going off. Needless to say, I miss skiing than anything. Above my study space my wife plastered pictures of big mountain skiing to help me keep my sanity, needless to say Seth Morrison has more than one spot on that wall. Schwag would be nice, but the opportunity to push myself with such a superb athelte would be the most unreal experience ever.

I have been head-over-heels obsessed with skiing since I was about 14 years old and saw Seth's segment in the MSP movie Global Storming. I will never forget what that segment did to me. Seeing someone ski so fast and go so huge was mind blowing. Since that first taste, I've done whatever I could to chase the dragon. Growing up in Ohio, it was hard for me to ski the kind of terrain I watched everyone ski in movies. I spent whatever amounts of money I earned in the past 10 years to buy gear, travel, or otherwise enjoy the wonderful world of skiing. Recently, I moved to Colorado in order to more fully experience the sport in which i've invested so much. Since moving westward from Ohio, my focus has shifted from pounding the terrain park to exploring the backcountry. A trip to Retallick would be an absolutely amazing experience for me. Skiing at a private cat operation is definitely a pipe-dream for an Ohio transplant such as myself. Winning a contest like this would be the only way I could experience such an adventure.

Reading all of the previous entries i realize that i am at a bit of a disadvantage. First of all, where i live isn't anywhere near as awesome as say, Squaw, Jackson, or Colorado. Sadly i live in Edmonton Alberta. Growing up skiing on hills the size most of you would consider too small to even bother; we still had the heart of those from more ski oriented towns. Most of the other kids were all about park skiing leaving us outcasts. Instead of hitting rails, we practiced straightlines and dreamed of being able to throw Seth like backflips. Still we managed, in some years, to get over 70 days skiing. Coming home usually consisted of watching Seth’s MSP segments, typically the ones from Focused and Frontline. The closest I ever got to knowing Seth was on a ski trip, when we met a friend of Seth’s mother, that alone caused days of stoke. Now being older and having the ability to travel to more legit ski areas, it has come down to having the funds to be able to go. Skiing in Retallick, with a god among skiers no less, would be a childhood (and current) dream come...

I should win the trip, because I rip, and I am the raddest skier I know, I'm also the raddest person I know, and I know all the bros in the industry and can speak the lingo. So with that being said, I have never been to retallick and it sounds like I should check it out so I can show Seth all the good spots and my dope steeze yo!. Plus I can keep up and cause Im so sick on my super, sidecut, doper triple rocker prototypes and I can tell seth a thing or two about designing a ski. I could slay all the jibs there and throw massive switch back side corks, while showing Seth how it's done. Then I could use all my mad mountaineering skills and rappel into the Gnar with him because Ski Mountaineering is the new dope trend, I could show him my bindings that release for uphill and then lock down for the descent. I have had this plan to buy a new set up two seasons ago, last winter and now this winter I figured my plan. Sell, sell, sell, all my old skis to help pay for the new. My K2 AK Enemy, the K2 AK Launchers, Salomon AK Rocket prototype skis and 3yr old Volkl Gotamas still in the shrink wrap, waiting to get some touring bindings. I'm keeping the K2 AK Maidens. As of now they haven't been put on the market. I procrastinate, ALOT. That was my plan. Browsing for new boots on Full Tilts web site I saw this contest. My new plan. I live in a dieing city in Upstate NY and spend all of my hard earned money skiing. Most likely i will die young from the rampant pollution, crime, and inflated cancer rates in my area. I am aware of these facts and manage to maintain sanity through skiing. I rely on seth and the TGR team to show me that the world is our playground and with enough passion anything is possible. I just want to shred pow and have some good times so F it let me win.

I live in Perth, Australia and love to shred powder. This is a problem as it is 3000 miles from the nearest ski resort. Because I have to travel to ski, i travel widely. Southern hemisphere winters in New Zealand, northern hemisphere winters in the Alps, Canada or the USA. The chance to ski at Retallack would be absolutely amazing, watching Seth do huge runs the rest of us can only dream of, while experiencing the deep powder of the Selkirk Mountains.

My first cat skiing trip was in the Summit County backcountry when I was about 15. The guides there told me to lose jibber twin tips and threw something fat under my feet. Seth Pistols. I ripped my first run in those K2s, spraying the guide with my stop at the bottom. “These are some sick skis!” I said thinking out loud. “You should see the guy they’re named after. HE is sick.” Sure enough Seth Morrison was sick. I was awed by the big mountain lines and huge backflips where his helmet nearly touched the tips of his skis. No longer was I satisfied with park or resort skiing. I wanted backcountry and have been chasing it ever since. Help me meet the calmest man in skiing. The skeleton dude crushes down the mountains that fringe my dream, dropping in the pillow lines to deliver the verdict. Pinch him, wake him, he’s lost in a dream. Wait it’s not a dream, it’s my life. I write this in the back seat of the truck on the way from Vegas to Jackson. I deserve this trip more than anyone else because this is the year of my dreams. I’m proud to say I live in Vegas and still managed to ski 63 days at 22 resorts last year. I skied Whistler to Taos and everything in between. I’ve trained all summer. I’m fit, strong, healthy and handsome. I’m moving to JHole this year, because I convinced my boss I needed January 3rd through May 3rd off. He said yes! I’ve been tracking weather patterns and this is the year to go to BC. I have been skiing ever since i was six years old and since then it has been the reason why I wake up in the morning. Although I love skiing everything on the mountain, trees and powder are definitely my favorite. There is nothing better than that one powder turn, cliff drop or face shot. Skiing in blower powder is so liberating that I feel it necessary to actually yell. Throughout the week I am constantly checking the weather for my home mountain, Burke Mountain in Vermont, for a storm. A true powder day on the east coast is so rare that my stoke is through the roof if we get pow. While watching movies like Tanner Hall's Believe, I have always imagined what it would be like to shred along with some of the best chargers in the world. It would be a DREAM come true, literally! In class I had to write a dream biography -choose whatever kind of life I wanted. Well, my dream was to be living in Jackson Hole and married to Seth Morrison. I have been a ski bum for the past 7 years, starting at Timberline for both the winter and summer and more recently moved to Idaho. While here I have made the move from on-hill work to plowing snow as it was the only way to keep a job because the ski area, Tamarack, has been going through bankruptcy hearings for the past year an' a half. Not much fun plowing snow when there is no pass or lifts running to play on. I have had to work for my own turns before so if they don't run this year I'll be in even better shape for next summer. Can't really say I should win, but I'd like to go skiing with Seth. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved watching the guy ski. I remember his first pro ski with K2- thought they were just the coolest, and someday I hoped to be good enough to be able to ski that ski like Seth did. Well, I don't know if that day has come, but I still love watching him. His laconic personality, avoiding hyperbolic bullshit in narratives and interviews and letting skiing talk for him, is Seth's MO. and us, mere mortals, can relate to that. I've been as diehard a skier as the next guy, selling piece by piece everything I own to ski while in college. I really live for pow, so it was quite a hit when I got diagnosed with MS this past March after several years of weird symptoms. We (my friends) would always wait to see what Seth did in his segment, always rewinding and getting pumped just watching. I always have wanted to go cat skiing, heli skiing, or even backcountry skiig. Throughout my whole life i have always wanted to be able to ski at the same ability and level as my dad and my dads friends. I now feel that I am at there same level and I love to ski now it is such a blast now that i can hit any shoot or line that i want to after many years of practice. I should ride with seth because I'm fucking core and live in Tahoe. I need something to look forward to because I've just thrashed my knee and am going to need a knee replacement (waiting on call from ortho right now). I've had 4 ACLs between the 2 legs and some nerve dmg from some L4-L5 S1 bullshit. I should ride with Seth because I should be dead right now too. I just can't help myself, I love to ski. I'm a jackson hole native and grew up watching the continuum and harvest as a kid. My life pretty much revolves around skiing. I am a coach on the freeride team in j-hole nothing is more satisfying than seeing the groms progress beside slaying some sick pillow line. It would be awesome to ski with Seth since he is one of my heroes and one of the reasons why I am a skier. I would love to pick Seth's brain on how to choose lines, ski the lines I've chosen, and of course rip the pow with the best big mountain skier I've seen yet! I've never been Cat skiing, and have always wished to go. Last year, we got 13 inches of total snowfall in our town over the entire season, so I'm ready to try skiing somewhere where there is actual powder! I got a chance to demo the ObSethed for a day last year and thought they were the most nimble and versatile ski that I've tried yet, they really brought out the best in my skiing (plus, helped me quickly avoid a gnarly collision with agility and ease)! It would be totally amazing to own a pair! I aspire to be a big mountain competitor, but lack the funding to step up to the terrain I would love to ski full-time.
Plus, it'd be good to have someone to ski with so I wouldn't be limited to self portraits...

With a decisive clack I mash the period key, finishing a history paper. As I glance out my window I imagine untouched powder and bluebird skies. As i fantasize about backcountry skiing, the air conditioner protests and begins to rattle. The insistent drumming of the rain combined with the groans from the window unit bring me back to the real world. A world where it so rarely snows that when presented with an inch of my favourite white stuff the whole town shutdown. The campus grounds crew used leaf blowers to clear the sidewalks, and the local high schools were closed. Yep, just another day in small town Kentucky. By serendipity my family drove into Retallack Lodge. The problem: I was 6, and it was the summer. My skiing life began when I started hopping off snow piles with cross country skis at the age of four.I grew up in western Montana, earning money for skis in the summer, and spending it on K2 skis. I started exploring the backcountry; taking free avalanche courses at night and having friends drive me home in blizzards. Dealing with frozen skins in a parking lot at 5 a.m. seems reasonable to me. Juggling a tough school schedule, a possible D1 scholarship for baseball, tons of college applications and satisfying my parents, I need something to blow off steam. Ever since I first put on a pair of ski's and slid back down the steps into the rental shop seven years ago in Winterplace, WV I knew there was nothing else in life I wanted to do. I was immediately hooked, no amount of Seth Morrison clips could satisfy me; every day I feigned for powder. After watching Seth's effortless style and AMAZING antics I was sure that at 15 I would leave Alabama and become the next Seth Morrison. I went west every chance I got and spent Holiday's skiing non-stop from first chair till they told me not to get back on. From Steamboat to Snowbird I was in a dreamland but it was one that always ended in an agonizing car ride back to reality. and reality was usually a 80 degree Alabama day. Now seven years later I find myself still dreadfully living in south Alabama where the temperatures can be in the upper 80's in December. Now every day as I go through my classes in Auburn I dream grassy hills are snow-covered slopes. Fulfill my dreams and let me be a skier for 3 days before going back to “the plains” of Auburn.

Skiing is what I live for. I grew up skiing in Colorado. I came down to New Zealand for this last season and basically I'm a little too broke to move back to CO. I’ve simply lost count of the powder days that I’ve traded, in order to sit in a stagnant office. Somehow I’m losing control, and the mundane 9 to 5 existence is slowly taking over my life. Oh, I fight it, but for some reason, I can’t defeat the pull of this “American Dream”. There are few feelings as sickening as looking out over the top of your cubicle farm, and out that window. Knowing, that the hills will have 18” of new snow tomorrow, but alas, it will go untouched by you. I see this trip as an escape. Add a day with one of the great skiing icons, and it moves to epic level. The trip will serve as a great moment in my life, in which the middle finger is given to the dull, office puke lifestyle, even if only for a short time.

I having been looking up to Seth for years. He was the real inspiration for me to get out of the terrain park and take everything I learned there and put it too use in the natural terrain. Moving out west also helped with that. I love powder skiing and I love riding with good friends. What better way to do that than go to Retallick and make new friends! I am from New Jersey and, consider that, I get little/no chances to meet or ski with pros. Although, I currently just met one of the most notable pros, Glen Plake, the other day and it was cool talking to him after growing up watching “Blizzard of Aahhhs”. Now, I feel I need to get a feeling of how I stake up against a pro, like Seth. I of course will not be doing Lincoln loops and backflips off of massive cliffs but will definitely try if I had the chance to ski with Seth who makes them look effortless. No one can effectively argue that they deserve, or have a right to win this contest. However, i would love this opportunity and might appreciate it more than other applicants. My entire family, and life, have been surrounded by skiing since before earliest memory, My parents quit their jobs and moved to VT so my brothers and i could be in the mtns. I raced as a junior and then through 5 years of FIS at an eastern ski academy, For college i went west searching for more racing and better snow, I worked hard to just scrape by in Div. 1 ski racing, and could hack it just enough for the college to pay for my travel. I've sunk thousands of minimum wage dollars into gear and travel, and i recently busted my ass on a commerical fishing vessel to save for a sled and to fund another trip to alaska this spring. My skiing background is incredibly privileged, i am enormously grateful for this, and i am aware that i can't argue i deserve to win. Why I should win? One reason I should is because I am from Wisconsin and have very few chances to ski powder. Unless I take a trip somewhere, I am stuck skiing a hill that is barely 400 vertical feet and jammed packed with people all the time. Not that I am complaining I still get to ski. Secondly my name Seth, how cool is that. Thirdly, it would be awesome to ski with a legend, I was awestruck when the first time I saw Seth ski in MSP's Sick Sense. He made it look so easy, I found out later that it is not but it was still sweet. The man continues to progress the sport of skiing, it would be a huge honor to ski with him. Fourthly, Please!!!

i love to ski all i ever think about is skiing. i live on the east coast so we don't see any sweet powder like in the teton videos. when i see those guys shred down the illest lines i picture my self sheding next to them. since i live in the east i never see that of storms. i went to Colorado one time and was the sickest experiment of my life. i got to shed in the trees and back bowls. if i won this competition i would be so stoked to shred pow for 3 straight days. i would ski from dawn to dark. i love to ski so pick me

I think i should be the one to win this trip because Seth Morrison is one of my favorite skiers. Also he doesn't want to be held back by some amateur skier. I'm not a amateur. Most people consider me intermediate/advanced. I can ski backwards, go through mogul patches on double black diamond runs, and shred it up in the park. I will not hold him back because i'm a good skier, a fun person to hang with, and this is a dream trip to me.

Skiing has given me everything: my closest friends, my best and happiest days and a direction in life. I am who I am because of skiing and cannot live more than an hour away from the mountains (believe me, I’ve tried.) It is what I strive to do and it is why I moved down to Telluride with my two friends - both of whom were on my ski team a few years back. And as I sit here, staring at the bare mountains surrounding my apartment while every other resort in Colorado and the entire west gets pummeled with snow, I begin to fear that Telluride may not have an epic year like the rest of the nation. I fear that those epic powder stashes that I moved down here for may not exist this winter and thus, hope that a trip to Retallick will ease those fears while I continue to plead with the snow gods for an epic blizzard in Southwest Colorado.

Two years ago I was in a life threatening ski accident. I broke my hand, femur, multiple ribs, multiple bones in my back, and I lacerated my spleen and kidney. After a long and tough recovery I am now back to skiing and I am even competing again for the Virginia Tech ski team. I deserve to win this trip because my body feels the best when I am skiing. I went through a tremendous amount of pain but nothing can stop me from skiing because it is what I truly love.

At 35, I’m part of a generation of skiers caught between the old school and the new school. Growing up I looked up to Permin Zurbriggen and Alberto Tomba,...Glen Plake and Scott Schmidt,...Shane McConkey, Mike Douglas, and Seth Morrison. As skiing changed around me, I strived to push and improve and learn and teach...to adapt and progress. My friends and I would go freeriding on big mountain lines back when it was called freeskiing, and would hit the “snowboard park” every day, limping away while trying to spin and land switch. We affected, and were affected by, the transition taking place in skiing that was all around us.
Now in university, I’m becoming a snow scientist. With a almost a decade of hundred-day seasons as a part of me, I am finding my own way to make work and skiing one in the same. Being part of the midschool, like Shane, and Mike, and Seth. Being that bridge. Living the connection between past, present, and future, is why I’d like to ski with the a person who has made the transition, and lead the way,...so that, again, I can learn and grow and teach and adapt and progress.

Have you ever seen a guy on one ski throw a backflip or a barrel roll in the pow? Well, Send me to Relattick for a few days with some pointers from Seth and you sure will.
I’m an ex adaptive downhill racer, turned freeskier. Kinda....Last year I was livin the dream. Living in the interior BC with my wife and two kids, working a great job part-time, and skiing the rest of the time. I had left racing and started freeskiing full time just a year prior. My skills were getting pretty decent, even earning a sick bird nomination in my first Freeskiing World Tour Qualifier entry in Revelstoke. I had my goal set this year to master inverts and learn more about line selection.
But now....I’m living in flatland Alberta, working full time trying to catch up for my ski season last year and support the family, just praying that I’ll get one real mountain trip this year.
To make that trip Retallick!?...with Seth Morrison!?..Are you kidding me!?
I hate self promotion, but I REEEEALY want this trip!! Haha

After 14 years my love of skiing has never diminished. I have recently entered the college life, and as we all know while in college money is tight. But that hasn't stopped me, I find my way up the mountain! I have recently began donating plasma to be able to enjoy the natural beauty of Mt. Baker that so many people have taken for granted. Winning this would be the opportunity of a lifetime. To ski with the one the legend: Seth Morrison would be such a humbling experience for me. To be able to enjoy the beautiful mountains of British Columbia with one of the greats would also be a learning experience that no one gets to receive. I would not take this for granted. I returned home in November just before Thanks Giving after spending my 2nd tour deployed in Iraq with the United States Navy. I the one thing that kept my spirits up the entire time I was in Iraq was dreams of snow and shredding some powder. When I returned home I bought my self a new pair of K2's got them set up and I hit Mount Baker several times the first week I was back. What an amazing feeling skiing fills me with I would have to say I dont even care to win this, but one this is for sure if Seth is ever at Baker I will shred with him.

Shreding Retallack with Seth and the best gear on the market sounds to good to be true. This is the ultimate package for a ski bum. It just so happens that I am just that. I met Seth at a movie premier once, but never got a chance to high five him (this will be important later, just keep reading). He is my skiing inspiration and has been since I first saw him in Powder Mag launching an 80 foot cliff almost 20 years ago (we are about the same age). I just moved from utah to ohio and it sucks. We have one ski shop and two moutains with a 200 foot vertical drop. I will have 0 powder days this year. It is nov 26 and 56 degrees out. i wish i could ride powder like i used to at snowbird but i am a poor 16 year old kid who cant afford a plane ticket somwere to ski.

Seth is my hero! He is the reason I quit ski racing and started competing in freeskiing. When I ski lines. I think " how would seth try and ski this".. I love his fluid style with big invert airs... Back in the day Dana Flahr was my roomate for about 5 years in whistler.. we skied together nearly every day.. Now I see him shredding with seth and Im super stoked for him.. and super jealouis.. Haha.. not really.. more excited.. I would love to get the chance to ski with the Legend myself. I now reside in Tahoe.. with my wife diana.. and have two young children that I put all my extra cash into . so they can get the training and skiing lifestyle that has made my life so enjoyable. Skiing is my life and now it is being passed down to my children... Its a really great feeling..

You have to be kidding me. This is either a cruel joke or the best contest ever. Retallack and Morrison go together like Rick James and crack. You know when in your head, you day dream about your favorite pow day or what would your personal best day on skis could be? Morrison has always been that skier who I would want to rip around with. You could say I have always looked up to him…not in an idol or celebrity way…but in a very basic-lets go charge and have the best pow day ever way attitude. What better place to charge with Morrison then Retallack. I guess this would be the best day(s) of skiing in my eyes. It will be all down hill from here boys. Somebody (that somebody being me) needs to give a little bit of hope to all the unfortunate rippers, shredders, schralpers, and jibbers that, despite the fact that their favorite hill just got 15 inches of blower pow, are buried in books in the library because their favorite hill (or any sizeable hill for that matter) happens to be six hours away. In 2001, while I was living in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps, I attended a filmfest where Seth and Arno Adam were the guests of honor. After the films, we all went to a traditional German pastry house for the after party. The whole night, I stood about 10 feet away from Seth but never got to talk to him. This was partly because at the time I liked to pretend that I was German and only speak German with my friends, but also because Seth was constantly being bombarded by the Bavarian jib-kids who wanted to chat him up and brag about the progression of their 360s. Because of this, and the fact that I was stoned to the bone, I never worked up the courage to go and tell Seth how much I respect and envy him. If I got to go cat skiing with him, I'd be interested to hear what he remembers about the evening, and we could recount the happenings of the last 10 years which brought us back to the same place on earth. I'd also be interested to know why he didn't go to the strip club with Arno and us!

I recall last week sitting in the office staring out my window at the first snowflakes of the season in Maine. Each falling flake a tease of the October and November 1nch+ an hour Jackson storms. As a recent college graduate the corporate institution has caged the one free student from the ability to ditch class to ski even as little as 6 inches of fresh East Coast freshies. 90 hour workweeks, working night shifts, getting called in on weekends and eating ramen just to be able to set enough aside for a seasons pass on the ice coast. Clicking away at a computer, crunching numbers, my mind drifts off, heart racing dreaming of that run of a lifetime, pillow lines, endless trees, cold smoke billowing over my head, and sharing laughs with friends and new faces. I’ve dreamed Cat skiing in BC as long as I can remember and I can’t think of a better time to be able to experience it, to drop into the deep and not think about work, but to just be one with the environment.

Hi my name is Thomas Ayme I'm a 21 years old skier. I've been loving skiing since the first day I spent on skis in 1994 - but right now I'm at a strange point in my life. I'm torn between my studies and my love for skiing. I'm in my third year at university studying economics - which is getting more and more boring ... I'm loosing a lot of my motivation for my uni work and turning more and more to skiing. I'm even wondering if I shouldn't have chosen another direction closer to my interests such as skiing instead of following the "safe path" that everybody was expecting me to take. Shredding with Seth in Retallack would be an incredible occasion for me to meet one of the world's best freerider while skiing some of the best ski terrains. It would also be a great way for me to get a new point of view on my situation. I should win this trip with Seth because It would totally make my year. I live in NY and have grown up skiing the East, mostly Stowe and close to home bristol mountain. I’ve been saving since I got my first job the end of middle school to kick it for a year or 2 out west after I graduate school at Oswego State University in upstate NY. Oswego is know for gnarly snowstorms dumping foot after foot of lake affect snow. Only problem is there isn’t much of anywhere to take advantage of the storms. My parents divorced when I was young, and money was never overflowing, so I have yet to make it out west to ride. This could be my first time and damn would it a serious way to pop my cherry. my best lift story- i was riding on sublette in jackson hole when i asked the guy next to me where he was from. he told me nj and since i was from there we kept on chatting. it ended up the guy was from my small hometown but was 4 years younger. i asked his name and figured out i knew his older sister. this dude was mortified when i then told him how in first grade i whipped out my junk and showed it to his sister. i got called down to the principal and when asked why i did it, i told her the devil made me do it! does it get more random????? send me on the cat please!

I’m born and raised in Whistler/Pemberton and have been skiing from the moment I could speak my first word: “Daisy”. Now I’m 17 years old turning 18 this December and a university student. I watched in awe and jealousy as my classmates Sean Pettit and Kye Peterson went pro and got to live the dream. When I told my mom all I want to do is ski, she advised “You can do that after, first get a degree to fall back on in case something goes wrong.” So here I am, a broke university student in a busy city buried in books and tests. I would love to be the winner of your contest because cat-skiing would be a dream come true and those 3 days skiing powder with Seth would be everything to me. And if those are the only few days I can ski this year, it’ll be more than enough to get me through this year of school because “there is nothing better than sliding on snow and flying through the air”.

Living in Central New York, there isn't much excitement with skiing. Powder days are extremely rare and I'm always looking for the next challenge. By far the most excitement I get out of skiing is watching movies with Seth throwing huge front flips off of insane cliffs in AK. After I saw Seth for the first time in Cold Fusion, I knew that skiing was going to be a part of my life. Every time I watched Seth huck it in Light the Wick it was a shot of adrenaline. Seth's been a huge inspiration to me and skiing with him would be unexplainable.
Skiing at Retallack is something that I have dreamed of ever since I saw Tanner, Sammy, and the Pettits ski it in Massive. I can only imagine skiing the deep pow and sick pillow lines it has to offer. Skiing there is something that I would not be able to afford on my own. All winter I think about skiing these lines 24/7 and can only experience it through films.
An opportunity like this comes once in a life time so I figure I'll take my one in a million chance.

My name is Rad. At least that's what my friends call me. I've been skiing for over 20 years. I started skiing the hills of Minnesota, vacationing for a ski week every year in Utah. Whether in MN or Utah, I always loved to ski. After graduating high school I went to Utah to ski...and go to college. You have to live your dream but work hard to make it a reality. I skied over 60 days a season while taking classes for engineering, skipping quite a few classes and not getting straight A's. Well worth it. I actually graduated last may with an engineering degree, got a job and now sit behind a desk 8 hours a day looking at Snowbirds snow report. In college I was a ski instructor for kids ages 4-12 with the objective to get kids stoked on skiing. The easiest way to get kids stoked is to have fun and of course get "big air". Skiing on the mountain, slaying pow and cliffs is where I've made my best friends. The opportunity to ski in Retallick would be the same. Big smiles, new friends and the opportunity...

I've been skiing for 22 years, and I've never gotten to ski anything not a resort, other than my driveway. I love riding in the pow and dream of getting to go on a cat skiing trip. That dream keeps getting further away as I started working a full time job and can only do the "weekend warrior" thing. I'd love to get a chance to ride off the beaten path and maybe learn how to ride some truly epic pow from Seth, and maybe get some face shots that don't involve falling.

I'm a 52 year old father of two kids that are 17 and 14 years old who have lived and skied in the East. I discovered skiing in my 20's when I was invited to ski Alta Utah with a friend. I was interlodged for two days before my first turn ... once I experienced powder skiing for the first time I was hooked. I can only dream of what it would be like to go Cat skiing ... and to be skiing it with Seth M. All of my family and friends think i'm crazy. All i think about 365 days of the year is skiing. Planning the next trip ... figuring out how to pay for it.

I can not think of a reason why I "should" win but it sure would make my winter, maybe change my life. I am retiring from my environmental law enforcement job as a disabled veteran and am looking for direction. This trip seems almost like a dream, and winning it would probably be the sign I would need to direct my energy toward a skiing career. It is certainly what I would tell my wife. K2 is my brand and you can bet I would be an ambassador to all those middle-age guys still dreaming of being a ski bum. Have a great winter!

My husband is the most amazing and selfless skier that I have ever seen. He skis the resorts with such style and fluidity (I think his curly ponytail and speed have made him notorious!). In the back country, he will hike for hours to glide down a couloir that is too steep for most people to ever attempt. And even on first descents, he looks like he’s done it a dozen times.

It’s not because of his ability that he should win this trip, though, but for the consideration that he has for others. He has helped teenagers to the top of the Sawtooths, dug cars out of the snow for strangers when they were plowed in, and taught beginners about backcountry safety. He would give up a day of fresh powder for someone that was in trouble or needed help. He especially deserves to win this trip because if I asked him to, he would (and has) give up any plans that he had to stay home with me (I don’t ski). This trip could be the trip of a lifetime for him – and all of the good karma...

Because there's no way I'd be able to afford this kind of trip on my own. Its sad that such sick skiing is off limits to the common man skier (w/o major financial ramifications). That said, I wouldn't say no if Seth called saying I won. Once in a lifetime, w/ the best all around skier in the world. Maybe Seth could teach me his backflip...

With an opportunity like this, the contestants and winner should realize what they can really take from this trip. Going beyond the free gear and paid expenses, what we have to realize is we will have a chance to experience skiing in a different light through the expertise of one of the sports pioneers. He shows and tells us through his numerous video segs and interviews, what feeling you get when you know youre in your true element. So I believe i would be the best candidate to take advantage of this contest and get as much out of it, plus some.

The ultimate life, skiing in an endless winter, never waiting for snow, never worrying about a lift line, does it get any better than that? My guess is that Seth Morrison can attest to this, and more. I’ve been skiing since I was 2, and my love for the outdoors and mountain life is unwavering. I was married to my wonderful wife 5 years ago, and had my first child 3 years ago, thus, my days on snow have been cut to a few tasty morsels per year. I have passed along my love of skiing to my son, and fostered a skiing family with my wife, but the fact of the matter is that skiing on the east coast, I’ll never experience the type of rad terrain and powder that I could at Retallick Cat skiing. I would LOVE nothing more than to take part in the once in a lifetime experience, for me, it certainly would be that, once in a life time. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

Since I was 8 and put in my Ski Movie vhs tape and saw a gnarly dude just throwing down BIG backflips, frontflips, misty 7 down 40 feet clifs I was hookd. Remember how I kept thinking DAMN, Who was that dude?
He was one in a kind skier that no one else came close to at the time. When all the new ski movies came out I remember just fast forward to Seths part and rewind it like 10 times a day. Then when the Seth Morrison cronical came out it was like the sickest ski documentary ever.
It would be a lifetime experience to go shred some deep powder with the legend himself. Just watch and learn from the best big mountain skier out there in my opinion.

I was lucky enough to happen across a Seth Morrison ski movie when I was putzing around a Kansas City book store when I was living there. I had recently come back from Iraq and I was having truble adjusting to life back in the US. I was unhappy with work and life in general. I sat down one evening and watched one of the sickest ski segments I have ever seen as Seth skied down a steep Alaskan face and ripped a back flip off of what had to have been at least a 40 foot cliff. I watched it over and over for the next few weeks, quit my job and moved to Colorado. Thanks Seth!!

I think that Seth is just an awesome dude and it would be f%^&*ing amazing to ski beside him and grab some beers afterwards. I'd love to learn from Seth how to choose such perfect lines.
Now for some sappy stuff - my dad put me on skis when I barely learned to walk and ever since then skiing has been my passion. I grew up in a small town in Ukraine. I got my first job so that I could buy some ski gear - I spent 5 months working in ski patrol, skiing 14 hours a day in rental boots, eating 3 crappy meals a day, and sleeping in a trailer with 8 smelly guys. By the end of the season I was skin and bones and had painful bunions on my feet, but it was the happiest winter of my life because I got to ski every single day! I was ecstatic when I got to Canada and tried BC powder. I've been in Canada for 2 years now and can afford (or at least save up for) most of the gear that I need. Seth wants to take me Cat Skiing because he really wants to see an old dude still ripping it up after many years much like himself. Also, the main thing would be making a comeback to skiing after a few years off due to an old injury. I just got a new hip and my doc says he expects to see some great ski photos from me this season. Ready to charge again!! I'll also be swowing up with a full compliment of snow toys from Alpine boards to tele-skis (Hippy Stynx, which I believe are modeled after the original "Seth Pistols"). I'm even going to shreading on a monoski one day there, maybe K2 will make a couple of these for next season?

Going cat skiing is on my bucket list, it has been a lifelong dream to ski untouched back bowls, and having Seth Morrison there would only make it that much better. I've been amazed by his skiing ever since I first saw him years ago. It would be an honour to see one of his huge front flips in person! Maybe he could give me some pointers, since flipping off a cliff is still on my to do list, (at least flipping on purpose).

In October of this year I packed up and moved out of my parents house to move into my first place in Revelstoke. Leaving behind friends, family, a steady job, and the opportunity to travel abroad. I figured I really don’t need anything else at this age, but that “feeling” I get from skiing hairy lines, deep pow, and pushing for new tricks off natural features. With the bear essentials and the mental drive to get it done, I’m determined to go out and get that “feeling” as much as possible this winter, pushing myself and becoming the best that I can be. Seth, tanner, sage, all these guys that I’ve watched over the years, each time thinking they’re no different then me, searching for snow and fulfilling that undeniable craving that can only be satisfied by tunnel vision fear and surviving the gnarliest of lines. Financially cat skiing is out of the equation. The trip itself could be the beginning of something far beyond my imagination, perhaps giving me an opportunity to go and do what I love to do at a whole other level along side someone I’ve looked up to and learned from my entire youth.

Hey K2 here’s my story and my reason why I should be the one chosen. It all started not that long ago when to my surprise my wife told me she doesn’t love me anymore and she had taken another man. Of course this bothered me a bit but what could I do? We have kids together and so we (she) decided we have to stay in the same house together and fake it for them. This is driving me crazy and I need a vacation badly. So my thought is that if I win this trip I can get out and rip it up to clear my head, see an awesome place and ski with an amazing skier and my wife can do whatever she and the other guy do when I’m not around. Seems like a win –win to me.

This story is only partially true the other man thing and my wife not loving me are false but I could really use the trip and the gear. My small children are eating up any spare cash I have and all the spare time I thought I had, please help.

First off i would like to say thank you for even giving us the opportunity to even go skiing with Seth and to be able to go cat skiing! Why i think i should win this trip with Seth is becacuse last winter all that we got was rain through the winter so my local ski area was horrible last season. Also throughout all of the crummy rain i broke my back and i was not shure if i was going to be able to ski this season. Just a little while back i just got clearnce to be able to ski. So it would be an awesome oppurtunity to be able to go skiing feeling at one hundred percent and be able to ski with the one skier i look up to Seth Morrison!

It all started on a Friday, Freshtival was up and happening it was snowing for the first time and I couldn't be more exited for the season to get into full swing. Near the end of the day my supervisor shows up and lets me know I've been laid off along with 12 other people. Of those 12 people I can safely say I was the only one with a big smile on my face. Right at that moment I decided I'm not going to work like the rest of society I'm making it happen, this is MY season. Whatever it takes I am going to ski as many days and as many places as I can without a *cough* EIncome, thank you Canada. The mattress is in the car, the map follows the snow and I've got more then enough advil to last me 'til next year. I'm ready to shred some pow! With or without the legend himself.

You had me at three days shredding in Retallick....and riding with Seth would be absolutely mind blowing! I always look forward to his segments. Basically been shredding 60+ days a year around the sea to sky area for the past decade. I love getting out into the backcountry, but my old summit 700 seems to break down every other time I take it out. I'm a med student now, and don't have much time to shred. Probably will get a dozen days in this year if I'm lucky, so winning this contest would undoubtedly make my season. Thanks for reading.

Seth Morrison has been one THE biggest influence my skiing ever since I can remember. When I graduated I had trouble deciding where to go to college. I have always loved Crested Butte and decided Western State would be the best fit for me and my love for skiing and the mountains. In the Fall of 2008 I was getting stoked for the upcoming winter, unfortunately I found out I had to have open heart surgery for the third time in my life due to a heart condition I was born with. I had to go back home to Texas and take the year off. Everything went well and now I have a well working heart. Even though I did miss the 2009 winter that I had so looked forward to, I was able to make my way back to Colorado. I am now living in Boulder and am fortunate to continue to enjoy living and skiing in the mountains. Being able to ski with Seth and shred pow in Retallick would truly be a dream come true. Even a chance to chill with Seth would be a once in a life time chance. Winning this contest would mean more...

Well, a few years back at the powder awards, Seth made a comment about the show being in Vegas and how you can't ski in Vegas. I am a long time Vegas local and spend the majority of my time skiing in the Spring Mountains about 30 mins from my home. I may not ski like Seth, who is one of my favorite skiers to watch, but would love to have the oppertunity to ski with him. His statement was hurtful to our ski community and this would be a nice way to pay us back (well at least myself)!

Hi, my name is Dalton, i'm 15 years old, and this is why I should win. My ski season consists of maybe around 20 days if im lucky. My parents don't take me skiing and that alone is the worst because skiing is my favorite thing to do. The only way i can go is staying with a friend. I can't drive so day trips aren't even a possibility either. I just recently got a job and money is still tight. I work to pay for my own lift tickets and ski gear and as you know, its not cheap. So i believe i should win because i don't get as much time to enjoy my favorite thing to do as much as most people. It would mean so much to me if you could help me with a ski trip with none other then Seth Morrison and help me get boots as well because i rent boots and i haven't owned my own pair of boots for 5 years. I've been a skier for 18 of my 24 years on this Earth. Being from Indiana, powder days are few and in between. While I long for the day that I can move out west and experience a true powder day, nothing quite beats the vibe that I get from my small resort here. So why should I win this trip? A trip to Retallick would be a dream come true. I can only imagine skiing at a place like Retallick, and to do it with a true pioneer of our sport like Seth Morrison would only be the cherry on top. One way or the other I hope to one day shred Retallick, but I hope it’s a lot sooner than later.

SETH, please help me. I am in an abusive relationship and don’t know what to do. She beats me on a regular basis. She’s broken both my arms, a leg, numerous fingers, and cut and bruised my body so badly that it’s taken months to heal. But I just can’t seem to get away from her. Every time I end up broken and beaten, she promises that she never meant to hurt me. She promises me how much better things will be in the future, and I always keep coming back. There’s just something about her silky smooth white skin, and innocently quiet demeanor that continually suck me in. But she’s no innocent little girl at all. Once she’s got me stuck in her web, all hope is lost. The attraction is so fierce that I lose all sense of logic and must spend every minute I can with her. I should win a trip to Retallick to ski with Seth because I never really liked skiing until I saw Seth ski. I was in Sacramento, CA in 2004 for a job interview . I was staying with a friend who was watching MSP 3 on a Friday evening . I replayed footage of Seth and was in awe of his style and athleticism. I realized how close Tahoe was and accepted the job. I grew up near Northern Idaho in Spokane, WA with 5 different ski resorts and skied because that's what you did in the winter. As I got older I was fortunate to ski Whistler, Jackson, Mt. Baker, Mt. Bachelor, Whitewater, and Red Mountain, but never got the urge or bug to push myself. Since living the past 7 years in Sacramento I've been a Kirkwood and Squaw pass holder. Skiing Tahoe pushed me to a level I never thought was possible. Thanks to Seth, he's made skiing a big part of my life and need to escape my corporate sales job that is stealing my soul. Also, I would like to be the first filipino to try and ski with Seth.

As "real life" takes over the reality for me is that I can't get in 30 or 40 days of pow per year anymore. When your choice is between spending your time with your three year old little girl and 8 month old little boy or floating in the super deep Utah pow, it's an easy choice. So my money and my time goes to my family. I'm on 6 year old Scott skis purchased at a swap, fritschi bindings found on craigslist and some garmonts i used birthday money to buy. The chance to get into some FullTilts, new K2's and 3 days on the cat in the deep would be worth my whole season. And seeing if an old man can keep up with Seth would be cool too.

My earliest memory is going skiing when I was 4 years old. All I can remember is crying the entire time. However, I have been addicted since that first trip. I have gone skiing countless times over the years since then. I've grown up skiing in North Carolina and have never gotten a chance to go ski anywhere else. I’ve been a ski instructor since I was 16 years old, which as vastly improved my skiing abilities. Teaching someone else about the sport I love is one of my greatest passions.
Ever since I got serious about skiing, Seth Morrison has been my hero in the sport. My first pair of skis were the 2006 179 K2 Seth Vicious skis. It has been my dream to go skiing anywhere outside of North Carolina. I would push myself to my fullest extent if I were given the chance to ride with Seth. I lived in Golden, BC being a ski bum for a couple years before heading to school. I had heard a lot of Retallack and it's amazing terrain from friends and when I saw Tanner Hall's "The Massive", I knew that's a place I have to get too some point in my life. McIntyre ski resort has two double chairs, side by side to a 300’ summit. I could see my house from the top and some buildings in downtown Manchester, NH. At night when the lights were on for night skiing, this was the backdrop as I pulled into my driveway. Mighty Mac is where it all stated for me, paving the way to the White Mountains of NH, where I found my heart for skiing. My buddies and I loved chasing snowstorms around New England. In college I explored the Green Mountains of VT, and finally made it to Tuckerman’s Ravine, which would change me for life. Next came the calling of the mountains to the west. My Best friend and I packed up our Subaru’s and caravaned across the country. We had really loose plans, only hopes of finding a mountain. A friend had recommended Jackson Hole, so we thought we would check it out for a couple days. When the Teton’s came out of the clouds, I knew I couldn’t leave this place. Like the things that make us

Does hello count as a part of my 200 words? I would really like to be staying some nights at Retallick in the near future, if possible. All I really want to do is ski powder snow and sometimes it is kind of hard to do so. Work and other shit get in the way of what I want to do and it sucks. I dump my money into anything that will get me to the top of the mountain and most of the time that leaves me penniless at the end of the year. I love the life I live, but a trip like this would make me pee my pants a little.
Sipping whiskey in the lodge after a deep day and not having to worry about what time I have to work the next day would be a nice change of pace. I do not have any felonies so I am eligible to get into Canada. Oh yeah Seth is the man and I would promise not to weird him out.

I grew up skiing on K2s (red, white and blue comps), certified ski instructor in high school in Washington and always dreamed of working for K2 on Vashon. Had K2 stickers plastered all over my equipment - even a mirror in my room. So several years ago I joined K2 as their New Product Manager and started their inline skates (first revolutionary soft boot) by having the K2 machine shop mount a Solomon cross country ski boot a skate frame. I also managed their clothing and pole lines and tried to bring on a carbon pole. Have skied with Plake (he let me try his mono ski), Coombs, raced against Phil and Steve Mahre (came within 3 tenths second), Tamara McKinney, Davey McCoy, Moseley, Shane, etc. Would love to ski with Seth and maybe help with his career like I have others plus I have some interesting new product ideas. I'm a bump skier (love the bumps at Mary Jane) and also a powder guy.

Hello K2 and Teton, I am an Englishman that has moved to Scotland to be closer to the mountains, but even last year’s snowfall was the best for many years it left me wanting more! So I went to Japan in search of their champagne powder, found it and my obSETHeds really enjoyed being let loose in Niseko’s back bowls. Now I feel that I need to try my skills, and skis, against something steeper and I have heard rumors of some big mountains across the pond in North America and Canada, and this competition would let me see if these rumors are true. I have also heard rumors about this guy called Carl the Gnarl and would love to meet him, share a pot of tea and hear some of his tales. And last but by no means least, to meet Seth would be great, I could give him some tips on the tartan for his next boots and maybe see if the Union Jack could make its way onto next years Seth Pro Model

Breaking trail en route to our favorite stashes in Fernie’s Lizard Range and elsewhere across the Kootenays during the last two years, soul-nourishing days in the mountains were a given. Not so much anymore. While my life on the snow is on hold right now, I like to think for good reason: Inspired by the work of the Protect Our Winter’s climate-action campaign, I’m earning a Public Policy Master’s degree in Sustainable Management, hoping to soon help drive economies everywhere towards a more resource-efficient low-carbon future.

Buried under work 24/7, it’s certainly been a hell of a transition out of the Canadian Rockies, but watching Seth slay big mountains on the big screen is always an amazing respite. A chance to ride with Seth in the Selkirks at Retallack is certainly an opportunity of a lifetime, and may be just the kind of motivation I need to pull me through the end of this intense first semester and the rest of this two-year program.

Plain and simple I LOVE TO SKI!!!!! Where I currently work leaves me stuck behind a desk for the majority of winter, thinking/dreaming of the next time I get to strap my skis to my feet. All of my vacation time and money goes to ski trips, living in the mid west we do have hills which I am on constantly, but I travel out west as much as possible because I LOVE powder and the feeling of floating = heaven. I would love to ski with Seth just to further my skills, and to talk and learn from a legend. As well as have a great time skiing, doing what I love and be isolated from the world on a mountain side. The photo I uploaded has been my wallpaper for many, many years.

I started freeskiing when I was 12, I knew nothing about it, but a friend of mine showed me some Seth's clips. The day after I bought my first pair of Obsethed. My first impression was of a perfect flotation and control; I felt free and powerful, this gave me security and the desire to improve myself to reach high levels. This dream came true last year, when I participated in FWQ. I arrived fortieth, but I haven't given up and I kept on training everyday. There are many reasons to ski; search the speed, the deepest powder, the most difficult face or the perfect line. I'm skiing because the feelings that the mounts inspire in me can't be expressed otherwise. I feel in peace with the world and I sense a great respect for the mountains, furthermore this is the only way in which I can completely express myself. Skiing, for just one day with Seth, for me would be the sign that I was looking for.

Hi, my name is Antoine Perron and i think i should win the trip because i never got the feeling to do a ski trip of my province(Quebec) and i would like to experience some other skiing than Quebec mountain. Seth Morrisson is one of the greatest out there and i love watch him shred. So for me it would like a dream come true skiing with a legend of skiing. Recently my girlfriend of 3 years, that I was living with, out of no where broke up with me and then moved cross country taking my dog with her (screw her, I just want my dog back!). Now I am stuck in Boston working way too many hours trying to get enough money together to get out of New England all while trying to avoid getting laid off. Skiing on the Killington early season WROD and getting out on my mountain bike have kept me sane through it all. A trip to Retallick would certainly help me gain perspective on everything and get over the fact that I wasted 3 years of my time in Boston and when I should have been chasing powder.

grew up skiing & jumping on Wisconsin's frozen tundra on K2's, then blessed w/a sister in Steamboat from '69-mid 80's, my dream was to be a ski bum...5 years of college, 2 wives & 5 kids later + 18 yrs. as a volunteer patroller & still dreaming. gave up lots of powder trips, gear & more to give the kids a good upbringing & teach them all to ski...one son got into ski racing and that took on a life of it's own. got to ride a chair w/Seth at Loveland one year while my son was at race camp. what a cool guy and amazing skier, it would be unbelieveable to ski w/him at Retallack nirvana. my dream could finally come true for 3 days for a guy still trying to figure out how to get to the mountains that have been calling all these years. gotta do it while I still can! I haven’t slept in 39 hours and 4 minutes -- I’m a resident M.D. working in a hospital. Actually I’m delirious, but like stabbing icsicles.. isicles.. ice-cycles, oh never mind....one question comes through perfectly clear: does Seth Morrison actually have bones? As in typical osseous structures made of calcium and phosphorus? Or is he entirely cartilage with some sharkonian genetics? Does he have some kind of connective tissue disorder that allows him to bend an inordinate amount, as no doubt did gumbi? From a medical perspective, can one really bounce 8000 feet at a time from a diamond precipice and have a normal endoskeletan? As I prepare for my Level I Operations avalanche course in BC, my mind begins to expand further. I would like to see this physiological enigma in person, catapulting white mushrooms in the natural habitat. All variables, including environmental and behavioral factors must be held the same in order to make adequate observations. Obviously experiments will require much suffering on my behalf in a spindrift-rifled wilderness, but anything for the sake of knowledge and science. Nobel nominations accepted.

If I could ski with Seth Morrison I would go crazy. I have never done anything like this. It just gives me shivers thinking about it. I really want to win this.
I have been skiing for six years now and love it. Just the thrill of bombing down the run or taking deep pow turns. Being in New Denver skiing at Retallick would be an amazing experience and something I would remember for the rest of my life. I have never done cat skiing before and have always dreamed of trying it.
Most of all I would really just enjoy hanging out with Seth Morrison talking about the sport we both love:skiing.

I feel like I should win because I live in freaking Indiana! I ski in Michigan every year and once last year in Colorado(which was amazing!). I hate the midwest though and I want to experience real mountains and powder snow! The closes I ever came to that was when I skied in the double black area when I was in Colorado and I conquered it! I am ready to advance in my skills with skiing cause I have a strong passion for skiing and being a professional skier someday would not be that bad of a career! i ski full throttle at all times. one day i was skiing with some guy with a speed ometer and he clocked me at 80 mph. but iv only skied on NE hard pack. i am extremly athletick and would love to enjoy a day of skiing with one of the best to chalenge myself. all my gear is outdated and needs improvment. seath would prob wanna ski with me over anyone.

I should win this unbelievable Retallick Cat Skiing adventure, because at one time in my brief life existence I was a true ski bum and now I have sold my soul to become a corporate junky. I NEED this trip to once again reach into my inner child and soul and truly feel what it is like to be free again. I now spend countless hours a week stuck in a tiny cubicle making phone calls and checking up on clients, making sure that all their money is being properly spent. While my heart and my mind drift off to colder, snowier, better places. And to top it all off, I don't even make enough money to buy a season pass or take a nice ski vacation. I has skied since I was three. I lived at the base of Grand Targhee getting 100 days a season, and went to college in Bozeman 20mins from Bridger Bowl. I have been spoiled by Targhee's 500+ inches of snowfall and Bridger's Cold Smoke for years. The backcountry skiing is incredible too. Life has been a dream!

But this summer I am moving to Omaha, NE. I'm doing it "for love". Funny the power girls have over us...

Omaha's local ski "bluff", Mt Crescent, has 300 feet of vertical drop.

I don't know how long I will be in Omaha.

So a final blowout La Nina season with a trip to Retallick before heading to the Midwest would be TITS.

You came to the right guy. Those past few years your lines were looking a little too vertical, perhaps too exposed, and certainly had way too much hangtime. Your line-picking keeps degrading. There are much mellow-er, safer lines to choose, and I could introduce you to a whole new world of skiing. Standing on the peak, looking at an open powder field below you may be tempting, but that hundred-footer below poses a serious problem. You seem to have lost your grip on reality thinking you can just go huck it like that. And if you do find yourself in that position, remember that there is always hope. People are there to help you. You can a) ski down the mellow south-facing slope, or b) radio to the chopper to get their ass back to the peak. Jumping is not the only way out.

We had snow early this season and we could not wait. My long time ski buddy and I skinned to the top of Alpine Meadows on November 10th to ski fresh. The ski resort was not open and there were very few tracks from other skiers earning some pre-season turns. We were in for a treat because the four feet of fresh on the top was cold and awesome. The scenery was bodacious. Ice from the satellite tower at the peak stood sideways due to the wind. We shredded and it was fun.

I live, sleep, eat, drink and will die skiing. I have lived in Tahoe for nine years shredding Squaw and the surrounding backcountry. I love it. This year I am working on a project called GhostRider Vision. It involves creating unique angles for ski footage. I am hoping to contribute in someway to the development of skiing.

Needless to say, as a professional ski bum, I need all the help I can get to travel and ski. I am monetarily poor, but feel like the richest man alive as a dedicated skier. Seth Morrison...

I'm 21 and I've been skiing for the last 18 years. I can truly say that skiing is more than just part of my life and that the best think on earth is for sure skiing powder! Here in quebec... well here in quebec, powder sucks!!! I've been in whistler 3 years ago , spent month out there and have the best memories of my life. Now at university, I can't afford my self to go on a trip like that anymore. So beeing able to shred powder in the world most famous lodge with Seth Morrison would simply be a dream come true!!!

It was 1998, my new school wasn't exactly fun and I wasn't planning on sticking around but didn't know what to do, I was watching a show on TV called High-5 and Seth came on, what he was doing on skis was just mind blowing and he was making a living doing it! I skied a little at the time but never really thought of it as a career path, a month later I ditched school and headed for the alps, best decision ever! Twelve years on I still work in the ski industry and love it, I'd love to ski with Seth in the powder mecca of Retallick and thank him for inspiring me to do something I love not just the 9-5.

Skiing is a passion of mine and will always be, I have loved watching people like Seth tear down the big Alaskan terrain! Me and my friends have talked about going cat skiing many times but frankly it’s expensive, and being a British Columbia boy I thought this contest would be the perfect opportunity to have the experience of a life-time and ski the best terrain of my life! Unlike many teenagers I know, who enjoy park skiing and “Tall tees”, I thrive on powder and finding steeps and new lines. I have heard such amazing things about the ObSethed’s as well as Full Tilt boots and the Hestra 3 finger gloves and would love to try. Since age ten, I’ve dreamed of the Canadian Rockies. I vowed I would get there, by the time I was forty. Skiing in powder up to my waist, on broad open slopes, where the runs last forever. It seemed the ultimate experience, the pinnacle of skiing, and is my Holy Grail. But the years have passed fast and now I’m past fifty.
I’ve still yet to ski there, but had lots of fun and taught others to share, in my winter obsession. Every year I take my crew out for a day on the slopes, as a show of appreciation for all their hard work. Painters from Brazil, Cape Verde and native America, all on the hill, enjoying it together.
I even taught my wife, who at age forty skied the North Face of Crested Butte after only one season. That week we got engaged and together we watched the extreme skiing championships. Then riding the bus from the town to the mountain, I noticed a competitor, sitting directly across from us. I quietly leaned over and whispered to my wife, “That’s Seth Morrison who’s really, really good.”...

Seriously though I have looked up to Seth and his style since before his freeskiing years with his pink and purple hair days. The man is a living legend who has one of my favorite skiing styles of all time. I've skied since I was a little gumby legged 3 year old and have had the same no holds barred style my entire ski career. I'm currently coaching a ski team for a private school and find that the kids play the follow me game with me and they are mimicking "my" straitline style (that I inherited from watching Seth's segments over and over again). I'm blessed to pass on my knowledge of the sport to the next upcoming generation. Skiing on the Seth Vicious opened up a new world of skiing for me so it's an awesome feeling to give that moment to others. It would be an honor and unfathomable privilege to ski with Seth. I wouldn't be worried about getting in the heli, and I know I can handle the terrain, I just hope I can make my backflip look as sick as Seth's!

I have only ever had one day skiing like the one in the picture and it was a fluke is was at Silver Star on a 50cm record day. I have two kids which pretty much limits my skiing exploration to the slack country around my resort. It would be a dream come true to ride some amazing terrain with one of the sickest riders out there. I really could use some gear that didnt limit my skiing ability and so I didnt get razed by my friends all the time. And last but not least it would probably be the only time I would ever get to have an experience like this.

Born in New Jersey, for most of my life the skiing opportunities around me were less than excellent; however, it did not stop my parents from putting me on the slopes at the age of 3 and going whenever we could. I remember my brother coming home from his first year at UVM and bringing me back "High Society 2" on VHS, which is where I first saw Seth hucking huge cliffs and doing things I never dreamed were possible. At the age of 10 these videos changed my life. Now I have come out to CO for college and am struggling to deal with realizations about my future. I see miserable people everywhere working jobs they hate and I can’t help but be depressed. I may never be a professional skier but when I get on the mountain all that goes away and my greatest dreams seem possible. I don’t know if I deserve this trip more then any one else but I do believe I would appreciate it more then anyone could imagine. As Seth once said “The mountains are my religion” and it would mean the world to me to get to go shred with my hero.

As of 11/17/10 I'm 20 days into a 100+ year and have been on skis for 24+ years. I want to ski with a pro just to see what separates them from the rest of us. I would love an opportunity to really be pushed by Seth to see where my limits are when it comes to ripping with a big-timer on some seriously gnarly terrain. While free gear is awesome, I'm looking at this for the experience of a lifetime and a chance to learn 1st hand what a real pro is all about. I strive to push my boundaries every single day: in the park, setting the boot pack to drop into chest deep powder, or blasting through the sun baked crust and crud. I can only assume that Seth does the same. I spend 25-35% of my income on skiing each season and want to feel what its like to do it for free, with a man who gets paid to ski. That’s it, honest and to the point. The more I type the less runs I get today so now its time to start my car and go ski day 21. Go big and take chances!

I'll make this very very simple. If you don't send me to New Denver with Seth I'm going to take this puppy (in picture) and coffee to your children. The kids will decide that they can't live without the dog (kids can't escape Phoebe) sugar & caffeine high wears off I'll take the dog away from them. But, if you send me to New Denver the dog is yours for a week, the kids will be happy and you'll meet some new ladies (Phoebe is a certified carpet magnet).

I should win because I'm 29 years old and work in tech but love skiing. I'm land locked by my job and live in Toronto where ski hills are a massive 700ft of vertical and jammed with a million people, all for a cool price of $70/ticket. I'm married to a wonderful but frugal Chinese wife and I feel that I could never afford cat or heli skiing. My dreams are crushed as a result. Living in Jackson Hole, it is apparent there is no shortage of talented skiers, vast terrain, or quality snow. Skiing is life to many of us, but most of us will never get to experience what it's like to have the type of skiing life Seth has. To get just a glimpse of that lifestyle would be, well, like a dream come true. The closest thing to being a professional skier that I have experienced was getting paid to ski around the Village and clean toilets. My glory days of bowl patrol came to a halt this season and my days at the resort are suddenly over. I'm on the earn your turns program this season and I sure could use a few cat rides to gain some extra vertical, and some new gear "to boot" (literally). Getting to win a trip to Retallick Cat Skiing this winter with Seth Morrison would benefit me in many ways. One of these ways would let me ski with an old High School friend who I've admired my whole life. watching Seth ski makes me feel like I'm 16 again ripping up Vail mountain and pissing plenty of Ski patrol along the way. Being a long time fan of Seth Morrison, I have been watching him in movies since he came on the scene in Ski Movie. I have admired the way Seth charges and his style, in both skiing and outside of skiing makes him the rockstar of the skiing industry. Thus, Seth and Shane McConkey became my idols back than. Now I look forward to each years films coming out to see what Seth is going to do next and as a result have tried to adopt as much of his style into my own skiing as possible. As such, when K2 made the first Seth Morrison Pro model back around 1999 I had to have them and after three pairs, I now ride Seth Pistols and am currently budgeting for the Obsethed.

As well, on November 19, 2006 my wife and I had a son; he was aptly named him Seth Douglas Theodore Suer as we both loved the name Seth.

In closing, K2 hosts some of the top skiers in the business and I would be honored with the opportunity to meet and ski with the man, my long time idol, Mr. Seth Morrison.

Most people these days look up to Hero’s and Idols that are sold to them repeatedly on corny TV Singing Shows and the SportsCenters of the world. I don’t sing, and I don’t have a wicked jump shot so these “leaders” don’t qualify. However, I do ski, and one who I have always looked up to since watching The Continuum years ago, has been Seth.
Seth was never the kind person who took a stand on politics, money, or business. He is the quiet type, always letting his talents and abilities speak for themselves. While I haven’t had the chance to ski the locations that have featured so many of Seth’s incredible steep descents, I still “try” to imply what I see to my skiing ability.
Few people these days ever get to meet their true or real “idol”.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call anyone my idol, but if the definition points to one who is someone whom to inspire to, then in my dictionary, look under Seth. After 39 years of skiing, nothing would top the chance to make some turns with one who has done so much to influence / change the world...

I live in the east, and have never seen a truly great powder day. I go out west once or twice a year and I spend the rest of the year thinking about it. Ever since I was little, I've dreamed of going catskiing, and when I saw this contest, I realized it was a great chance to make my dreams come true. Here is my case. I have dreamed of skiing Retallack for as long as I can remember. Living in NW MT, we hear of the ledgendary powder that piles up in Nelson, BC. If I had the funds it would be a dream trip. Growing up in Kalispell, MT I know Tanner Hall personally and sitting around listening to him speak about Retallack makes me salivate and jealous. Don't tell Tanner, but Morrison is my favorite skier. I ride his skis and have the Hestra Vertical Freerides too. Make my dream come true of skiing at my dream spot with my favortie skier. Plus the Retallack stories will be alot better.

Here in South Western PA, we get some pretty nasty wet snow, which means skiing on mostly man made snow at Seven Springs during the short warm winters. I am 18 and a Freshman Cal U (local college). I ride some sketchy 2008 Line Anthems, with cheap, beat, Technica boots. Working part time while attending college means small amount of money to spend on much NEEDED ski gear! I've never skied anywhere but Seven Springs, and this opportunity would be life changing, especially skiing with the world's best, know as Seth Morrison and K2.

I love skiing. Skiing isnt exactly stellar when you live in the middle of a corn field, but i make the best of it. Skiing with a pro like Seth in powder would be heaven compared to my 300 feet of vertical in Ohio.

I was born in Japan and my grandpa there got me on skis when I was two. I’ve been hooked ever since. When I was 5, my family moved to Canada. Medicine Hat, Alberta has been home ever since. There’s a small ski hill with about six runs 45 minutes away but the closest mountain is 3 hours away. I’m about to finish my second year of college in December and I can’t transfer my credits to the University of Calgary until next fall. Knowing this, I worked my butt off this summer in a carbon plant so I could save some money and move to the mountains in the winter. It looked like I was going to have an unreal season but then the health of my grandpa in Japan started to deteriorate so I took the money I saved for ski bumming and bought a flight to Japan to spend three weeks with my grandpa instead. Since I no longer have the money to be a ski bum this winter, I will probably just end up working so a trip to Retallack to shred with Seth would be a truly unreal and appreciated experience!

Lets face it. the person that should win this should have a passion for skiing. Not only the passion but the love and dedication to the sport. I not only have those attributes but I also have the personality to go along with it. It seems that the sport is losing its uniquness of its roots. its a lifestyle that I will always follow and support its true soul. I am the guy that deserves this.

I think I should win because, like Seth, we share something important, we both LOVE skiing, which I know is easy to say because after all this is a competition, but I really do love skiing and I feel now skiing is my life and I’ll tell you why ….It all happened once upon on a time on a family ski holiday, I had never rode proper powder before; however I was still a confident off-piste rider and loved it, however one night me and my friend decided that the next morning we would get up extra early, avoid the queues and try to be the first ones up there. The next morning we woke up bright and early to 3 feet of fresh snow! When we got up there we made our way to an off-piste tree line we been shredding days before, long story short after getting to the bottom of the run I had never felt anything like floating through the powder and the feelings I had at the bottom of the run, I think I just screamed, ever since then I’ve made sure I recreate that feeling every time I ride, and have been successful...

i should be chosen for who i am not who i can be or would like to be, growing up in scotland and learning to ski is just not gonna happen, those days you get out there its sheet ice and the gale force winds literally push you back up hill, moving to canada four years ago and experiencing the big mountain life has been brilliant but im missing one thing, proper powder skiing. those days theres been snow ive been working and the days i go skiing its bad conditions, having a chance to ski with my idol in a place lie retallick would complete my canadian experience, it would allow me the pleasure of fulfilling one of my dreams.

If I win I will build Seth and Todd custom surfboards with custom glassed on wood fins and then take them on the surf trip of a lifetime to a secret spot with an easy paddle out and uncrowded glassy head high A frames. Hi my name is matt cook (m.c.).I ski at squaw and have had a pass for the last 5 years.I cut tree's for sac. county!Myjob is good and i usually ski all the storms that roll thru!I have watched seth since msp films and it would be cool to ski and talk about the mountains with him.I have road tripped to red mt.,jackson hole,the gee,alpental,snowqualimi,stvens pass,alta and the bird!It would be really cool to tell my son Jaxson that i skied with a pro skier like seth.

My name is Stacey Hart,
I grew up riding planks down some of the best mountains in British Columbia, Canada. My family finally settled in Kimberley, BC and I spent every moment I could getting myself up to the hill to ride and eventually race through the East Kootenays.
Through some tough times with my family I had to give up my passion of skiing and stay off the hill. After 5 years of hard work to become an adult, I finally purchased my first set of skis this year and went straight to the brand I know and trust and now have my skis set up so I can stare at them every day. A lot of love for my lotta luv's. My dream has always been to cat ski and Teton Gravity Research ignited my fire for skiing with the "Light The Wick" trailer.

I am a 19 year old ski instructing, ski shop employed college student from Bend, Oregon. I moved out to Salt Lake City this year to go to college but more so for the skiing. Ever since I started skiing it has been the main focus in my life. From watching ski movies all year long to waking up at o'dark thirty to get in line first at the resort. I have always dreamed about skiing at Retallick. It is number one on my bucket list. Right now there is no way I can afford the experience so winning this contest would really be the greatest thing to happen to me...EVER. Also a new set up would be really nice. I have put in a lot of vertical on my current 09 ObSetheds and they are showing it. Lastly, skiing with a legend like Seth would be a memory that lasts forever. The knowledge I can only hope to gain would make me a better skier, tenfold.

I should win this contest because I understand, appreciate and respect Seth’s roll in the history of skiing. Seth charges hard and has kept the technical brilliance of guys like Scot Schmidt alive. He is one of the reasons that free skiing has grown to what it is today. While snowboarding was taking off in popularity in the early and mid 90s, Seth continued the path forged by the Stump-era guys and took skiing to a whole new level. He has carved himself a spot in the history of skiing and is now a legend in the sport. His style has influenced my style too, and it would be sweet to ski with someone who’s done it all on two planks. I hope people from BC can enter this contest. I fibbed with the WA state thing. See?? I'm honest too! Hook a brother up!

I am a skier. As a child, while my friends were all playing catch in the backyard with their overly involved-armchair quarterback-volunteer PeeWee football coach dads,
Dad and I were far too busy stoking out to old Warren Miller films. My friends got their favorite player’s number shaved into their hair. I got a Mohawk, just like my idol, Glen Plake.

I got pissed just like everybody else when Kurt Miller turned his dad’s legacy into a big Grand Marnier/Jeep commercial. I now frequent the independent cinema: TGR, Nimbus, Matchbox, PBP for my ski porn needs, because lately, skiing has taken the back seat.

For the last seven years, I have been pursuing a “real job” as a chiropractor. I haven’t had the funds to live up to my previous winters of 30+ skiing days. And I have slowly been dying. I’m almost done with school, I’m married, I’m broke, and I need something to put the stoke back in my step.

All that said, I need this. I deserve this.

I have grown up in Southern Finland, where my home mountain is 55m high. Yep, 55 meters.. But even it's so tiny, I have always loved to go there again and again. And when I have had an opportunity to go Northern Finland, it has always been amazing.
The trip would be my dream come true, skiing on a real big mountain with a real guru.
Also winning a pair of really great skis, boots and gloves would be another dream come true thing, cause I've never been the rich guy on the hills, and this is the first winter I can afford to buy something new. Earlier I have had to buy everything used.

I should win this trip because I love this sport so much. I moved to Jackson Hole last season from Philadelphia to follow my life-long passion of skiing. I grew up watching Seth, Shane and Plake in all the ski movies, hoping one day I might be half as good as any one of them. I've never skied in BC and this would be a trip of a lifetime, not to mention skiing with Seth, my favorite skier. Watching Seth progress through the years has only given me more motivation to progress my own skiing. He has truly inspired me to make my life better and make skiing a permanent part of what I do. I finally got to meet him this winter at the TGR premiere and was glad to see how down to earth and chill he is. All my friends ask me why I moved across the country to live in the middle of nowhere, but if you've been to Jackson and skied its powder you know why. I'm not the sickest skier or the raddest, but I have so much passion for this sport that has made my life better than I could have every imagined....

How does one convince Seth Morrison and K2 that you should win a dream trip to British Columbia for Retallack Cat Skiing in 200 words?
As with many great skiers Seth started his career through racing, a path that teaches priceless technique and the love of skiing, however one that is bound by gates and rules. That is how I felt. The day that changed it all… I was driving to early morning training through 2 feet of fresh that had fallen the night before; it was a classic “blue-bird” day. Strangely, the thought entered my head “why do I love to ski?” The answer came easily staring out the window at the blankets of snow – I love to ski because it awards an indescribable feeling of freedom, adventure, and life. As you might have guessed, I blew off training and that morning turned into the best powder day of my life! I haven’t raced since. In the end, my answer to the question we all pose ourselves for this contest is: To share the remote wilderness of the Selkirk Mountains with Seth and share the love of skiing and the freedom it brings would be an unforgettable...

So I think I should go on that epic trip for many reasons, but here are few. I've been skiing around BC for a good 12 years now, now living in Revelstoke, I am itching to get to Retallick for that unreal pow in the sick glades we have all seen in movies throughout the years. Seth has been an icon of skiing for years and has been my fav skier, and someone I strive to ski like, well, almost like him. I can hold my own on the mountain, and would love a chance to spend a day my hero of skiing!!! And plus, K2 is my brand, love to have another set in my quiver and represent! and I need new boots, bad.

Because the experience to ski with a guy that has done so much for the sport that I love more than anything in the world would be life changing. I, like Seth grew up racing and had my eyes opened up to the world of freeskiing out in Crested Butte, CO. Now I am stuck behind a desk in Phoenix, AZ with a beautiful wife and a healthy kid on the way scratching my head and trying to find out how to get back to CO because my heart and soul belong in the mountains!! The culture surrounding the sport of skiing is something that everone should be lucky enough to experience in their life!

I would like to submit this not for me, but for my Obsethed boyfriend Ian. Ian grew up dreaming about moving to a ski town and minutes after graduating collage, he got a job and moved to Vail. He skis no less than 80 days a year and he salivates on powder days. He grew up idolizing ski Icons like Glen Plake, Johnny Mosley, Shane McConkey, and of corse Seth Morrison.
I know Ian is not a hot girl or a cute little kid, but he is the most deserving person to win a trip like this. He gives his all in every thing from work to Family to play.
I love him and you will 2!
Oh, and he is a great skier so he can be taken any where!

I awoke feeling fantastic. Today, January 2nd 2009, would be the third time skiing Thrasher Creek. It was a freshly discovered zone at my local hill, littered with cliffs and lacking tracks. And a five minute hike out was the icing on the cake. I made it to the hill with my three best friends to find a line stretching out of the parking lot—it was the busiest day of the year. “Oh Well”, we thought; nobody skis where we ski anyway.

Three hours later, I had been escorted to Mountain Headquarters and was getting screamed at by the general manager while the head of patrol tried to calm him down. Outside, media helicopters were swirling around, fire trucks and ambulances were confusingly stationed outside and I had a line-up of national media reporters waiting to tear me apart. And tear me apart they did. Mclean’s magazine dubbed me Canada’s National Twit and put me in the ranks of Kanye West and Michael Phelps.

So, I politely ask, may I ski with Seth and reclaim my image as a skier? I would so love to shred my falsely portrayed...

Damn, I've lost girlfriends because of this obsession. Due to budget cuts in our state, I've lost a whole month's pay! Because of this, I won't be traveling outta state, at all, to ski. whats up, my name is Pat. I am 19, a University of NH college bum, and was born and raised in New Hampshire. I kill it every day on branches and rocks but would love to put my snorkel on for some Retallick pow. I don't really deserve this more than anyone else here so I'm not sure what to write. Here are some of my skiing accomplishments: I've skied naked 8 times, gone off of a kicker naked once. I put tracks on 4 out of the 5 largest gullies/ravines on Mt. Washington. One time my friends and I build a road gap in my town and the cops came and cuffed us for public disturbance. One time in a high school GS race, i raced in my boxers and placed 10th out of 130. Seth, I would be honored to ride with you. K2, thank you for making the Hellbent, I thought I would never get married until I mounted these up.

When I was 8 I started skiing. When i was 10 an spanish ski magazine arrived to my hands (not so strange, actually i live in Spain). Inside was an interview to a crazy freeride skier from colorado called Seth. That changed my way of seeing the snow and mountains in general. Later I found my first freeski movies in the internet and my admiration to this punk of the snow started growing with his lincolms, backs and front throwed in the huge cliffs of Alaska and British Columbia and the acid lines in Haines. Seth became an idol for me I also liked others like Shane or Mike Douglas but they where not the same.
I always wanted to ski in those pillows surrounded by trees cause here the conditions are not the best for powder skiing and also I dont ski as much i want cause the snowed mountains are far and my parents they are not as freak as me. Thats why think you must give me the hope
