“I ski to have fun and love chillin with friends.” Sure that’s what everyone says. I ski for a different reason along with fun and my friends. Juggling a tough school schedule, a possible D1 scholarship for baseball, tons of college applications and satisfying my parents, I need something to blow off steam. Sure parties are off the hook on the weekend and the girls are great. But that’s not what really relaxes my soul and takes pressure out of my life. When that chair hits the back of my legs, and the weight of my body is scooped up towards the sky, and the first breath of fresh cold air hits my lungs, I know it’s going to be a good day. Through the day all my troubles vanish. The fact I’m stuck in north east, have never been skiing out west and never skied more than 1 1/2ft of pow never cross my mind, I’m at peace. I live for the moments I get that feeling flying down the hill about a foot behind my best buddy and a place off lips or cliffs where the air is sweeter and nothing feels better. That’s why I ski and should get a chance to win.
