Summer Sucks, Winter Rules! Part 2- Adam Clark photo Essay
By | July 15th, 2009
Working with the TGR crew is always an entertaining experience. Obviously documenting the skiing and snowboarding with your friends is super fun. But getting to watch a filmer shred pow with a 60 pound pack, or having some beers and talking about the newest digital technology is awesome. Everybody in the crew is motivated and stoked. Seeing all the effort it takes for a short ski movie is pretty amazing. So here's a little more insight into a winter with TGR production.

**Filmer Corey Gavitt loves stickering up a nice A-Star**

**This is a self portrait of my boots and Todd Jones cracking off a scenic shot from the Heli. Todd is awesome to film with out of the heli, he has as much or more experience than anyone and its just damn fun flying around in a helicopter watching people ski.**

**Jim Conway, better known as the "Sarge". He is the glue of any big AK trip, more than just avalanche safety, Sarge keeps everybody on a tight regiment. Not only will he save you in the field, but he has also made bar recoveries and will have the tool to fix anything you need. Here he is enjoying some guide time.**

**Adam Clark and Dustin Handley getting ready to get some shots from a lift in Alagna**

**This is Sage Cattabriga-alosa and Wiley Miller scoping out their blank canvas at a sweet snowmobile zone thats mostly unkown for skiing and filming.**

**We didn't get out into the field until mid-day, by the time we found a good zone, athletes had picked out lines and we were ready to shoot, a milky cloud layer came in. The athletes went back in and the production crew stayed out for a fun run. Epic snow, enough light to see shadows and get to watch photo legends like Flip McCririck enjoy some AK pow-sick turns.**

**Todd Jones, Helicopter, RED camera, great combo**

**This is what a classic AK setup looks like, the crew is setting up on the close ridge to shoot the opposing spine wall. We call it the barbie angle-sometimes you spend an hour hanging out on a ridge, long enough you could enjoy a little BBQ time.**

**TGR is pretty pro when it comes to AK and making ski movies, but not everything works out the way we want it to. Somebody was probably a little too stoked to get in the heli...**

**It was either a really good day or a really bad day in AK. Nielson making sure the boys have everything they need.**

**Dustin Handly and Steven Jones with one of our mint guides in Alagna Italy after crushing some shots of Dana Flahr, Callum Pettit and Dash Longe**

**Steve Jones getting the shot.**

**This was the last day, last shot of AK this year. Todd isn't throwing stoke for the camera, he was just stoked. It was a tough season for the TGR crew in AK, lots of stuff we had to work through as a crew to get the goods and we still got em. You can see the wall to the left of Todd that we are hiking to get a good angle on. The helicopter is about to drop off Seth Morrisson on a nasty tow in. We all had made it through another season in AK and we got some epic shots. Life is good in the mountains.**

**The Brothers, Steve and Todd Jones. This is a classic shot of the brothers getting it done. It was the first year in a long time that the two were together in Alaska where it all started with fishing boats. They are still as stoked as ever to roll film and explore new terrain.**

**Corey Gavitt and Josh Nielson getting a shot at our hotel room in Haines. The TGR crew is always trying to make it new, unique and intersting. After safety get cool shots in numero uno priority. Constantly they're talking about new ideas and trying to make skiing and the lifestyle look how it really feels for all of us. A challange to say the least.**

**Wiley Miller seeing what it looks like to look through a 16mm camera.**

**Camera wars with Dustin Handly and Steve Jones on a cold evening at a refugio in Alagna, Italy**

**Dustin Handley is a big strong guy, lucky for him he can still get some epic turns in even with his 60 pound pack on. The production crew has as much fun as possible between, during and after every shot**

**It takes a lot of people to build some jumps, jump off the jumps, film the jumps, lap the skiers back to the top, pilots to fly the helicopters, somebody to just coordinate the radio banter, safety guys and the occasional observer. Here's just half of the steven pass crew.**

**Steve pretty stoked on what he's about to film**
