As Vermont bands together to help recover after Sunday's floods from Tropical Storm Irene, you can help by donating to the Red Cross. The Red Cross, which at the height of the flooding housed 329 displaced residents, is asking for donations. Donations can be made at www.vermontredcross.org or by calling 800-660-9130. For those who are interested in volunteering, register online at www.vermontredcross.org and click on the red "volunteer" button on the left.
Another way to help the Red Cross in Vermont is by purchasing a T-shirt and refrigerator magnet from Independent Vermont Clothing, a company run by sixth- and seventh-generation Vermonters. All proceeds from the "I'm With Vermont" T-shirts and magnets help support the Red Cross efforts in Vermont.
