Adam “MCA” Yauch, a founding member of the New York City-based hip hop trio the Beastie Boys, died Friday after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old. In 2009, Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in his salivary gland. The Beastie Boys were widely liked among action sports enthusiasts.In addition to being a rapper, MCA was a snowboarder who was even featured in a few shred videos in the 1990s.
