Going Further: Jeremy Jones And Crew Heads To Austria to Film The Karwendel Range

By | February 3rd, 2012

Teton Gravity Research is in production of Jeremy Jones' two-year snowboard project titled "Further." Part the "Deeper", "Further", "Higher" trilogy, the three snowboard films focus on Jeremy Jones and his quest to take snowboarding to the most remote locations on Earth — beyond where motorized vehicles can travel.

TGR's "Further" production crew just left for a trip to Austria where they hope to ride the Karwendel Range — the largest range in the Northern Limestone Alps. TGR is there riding with Jeremy Jones, Mitch Toelderer, and Bibi Pekarek. David Carrier Porcheron is set to join the crew after he competes in the Red Bull Supernatural event in Baldface, B.C.

From TGR's Head of Production Jon Klaczkiewicz:

It was a brutal travel day: Jackson Hole to Salt Lake City to Paris to Munich. We arrived at 3 p.m. We didn't get our luggage — which was lost — until 8 p.m. This meant we didn't leave Munich untill 9 p.m. When we finally got to our hotel at midnight to unload our gear and put camera packages together, it was locked.

But today, we woke to clouds clearing. The Alps are sick. We met Jeremy Jones at 8 a.m. and went up the tram and immediately started to climb-traverse-climb-traverse-climb around huge, scary, glide cracks. Jeremy, Mitch, and Bibi hit a few super-sloughing sidecountry lines. Then clouds. After such a long journey to get here, it was nice to blow out the pipes right out of the gate. We saw ibexes and got rewarded with a 4,800-foot run back to town after shooting. Austria is beautiful!
