Girdwood To Valdez - A Road Trip In Alaska
By Pete O | March 9th, 2012
My Winter in Alaska continues with a road trip from Girdwood to Valdez.
The TGR Girdwood crew took off to the Lower 48 to compete in the Red Bull Cold Rush. I made the trek to Valdez with the sleds to hook up with Todd Ligare, Erik Roner and Seth Morrison.
The heli season in Valdez is just starting to kick in, and with all the buzz in the air about "Snowpocalypse" it should be a good one.

I came across these freshly laid beast tracks in the middle of nowhere.

One of the most peaceful places I've ever been to in the mountains: A Doug Coombs Memorial on top of Staircase in Valdez.
