“Andy On The Snow”
The crossover between riding on waves and riding on snow is poetic. If you ride on snow, chances are you long to ride on waves. In most cases, “the surfer” can find solace in the mountains – slashing and airing with the mountains natural contours.
This last weekend Andy Irons came to Wyoming for some much needed R&R, Riding and Rejuvinating. Andy came to visit with his wife Lindy, along with Billabong Gurus Enich Harris and Mike Wallace aka “Wally.”
Local Jackson snowboarding residents Kevin Jones and Travis Rice, along with the TGR crew were pumped to show the surfers around the Tetons. Andy and Lindy came straight from warm eighty-degree temps in Hawaii to a bristling cold negative twenty degrees in Jackson Hole. Fresh off the jet (F.O.J) Andy headed straight for the Kitty Terrain Park (K.T.P.). Andy boosted airs and slashed walls with laid out surf style. It was incredible to watch “the surfer” and his take on the features.
The next day we headed over the pass to Grande Targhee Resort for some Snow Cat-Skiing. The crew consisted of athletes Andy Irons, Kevin Jones and Travis Rice, teamed up with the Billy Boyz - Enich and Wally, along with TGR Cinematographer Dustin Handley. The day was all time! Everyone had a blast riding buttery powder with bright blue bird skies.
The last day of riding was spent back at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort with more blue bird conditions, soft snow and multiple K.T.P. runs. We wrapped up the day with some soft suds on the deck. The stoke was splashing around with “air ball” high fives, as we reflected on the fun had by all from the previous few days… on and off the mountain.
