It all started at the age of 3 back home in Germany on a little hill behind my parents house, when I first saw what skiing was. One of my friends owned a pair and when I first saw him, I really wanted to do it myself. And so I did. And ever since that day, skiing became on of the biggest things in my life.
At the age of 9 I started ski racing. I quickly got over the rules and limitations and and at the age of 16, I was rather seeking for powder and jumps with my friends who all snowboarded. Instead of snowboarding myself I used the snowboarding influence and put it to my skis.
Shortly after, in 2000 I became aware, that there is already a whole sport developed, mostly in North America, which was called freeskiing. From then on I was following the scene, and quickly realized that my passion was this kind of skiing.
Every minute of my free time went to skiing, and in 2001 I did my first city big air competition in Manchester, UK. I placed 3rd and found myself possibly the happiest I have ever been.
I competed for a while and did fairly well, which got me my first sponsors for skiing. Having sponsors opened up all kinds of new opportunities, I got to travel and was able to film for North American ski movies.
In 2008 I got to link up my skiing history as a ski racer with freeskiing. Not only did I get to ski the most famous and gnarliest ski downhill in the world, I also got to backflip the legendary "Mausefalle" ( first jump of the downhill ).
In 2010 I filmed for TGR for the first time. Filming for the 2011 "One For The Road" was probably the most fun winter I have ever had... Looking forward to what there is to come.
