I wish more ski flicks had this level of narrative, shots, history & consequence. Beats the pants off of most of the offerings this year.

Insane hucking, big mountain straightlining, artsy backlit shots, perfect slomo powder shots and scary avy footage; what more can you ask for?

Killer film about a bloke with a camera up in the mountain with Huck & Chuck and props to Xavier for making good turns on a snowboard and for pointing out that snowboarders rarely do.
Jigsaw avi = scary as hell = ABS saved his ass.
Thanks for posting this.

is it wrong to expect the same level of eloquence from contemporary north american ski-porn action heroes? behind every great shot is a great story; tell it in a way that makes me want to listen, please.
for me the bane of ski movies is the "we went to X, did Y and it felt Z!" type of storytelling. and that, unfortunately, includes a lot of the "soul" movies from TGR.
it's the difference between "steep the movie" and "steep the book" (the edge of never) and i so much prefer the second. yes, it would make ski porn movies feel more like a documentary, i admit. but i like documentaries.
PS: by the way, if you liked this Perrini movie check out his 2005 offering: "Coefficient Drag: In Search of Steeze". It's a fantastic way to pair old guys with new ones and see who still has the better story:

An enjoyable ski movie
doesn't that have substantial overlap with an Atomic film?

Good film for sure. If you guys liked this one, then you should check out "Lines" by Axel Pauporte, Justin Hostynek (sp?) and the absinthe crew. It's snowboarding only but very similar to this, but much longer (85mins) documenting the full history of big mountain snowboarding....
